Message: The Noble Christian

Hello My Friend,

[Pride; Inordinate self-esteem; an unreasonable conceit of one’s own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, and accomplishments. That of which are proud; that which excites boasting. Proud; Possessing a high or unreasonable conceit of one’s own excellence, either of body or mind; nobility. Nobility; Dignity of mind; greatness; grandeur; that elevation of soul which comprehends bravery, generosity, intrepidity, integrity, and contempt of every thing that dishonors character.]

PRIDE, everywhere we go and everywhere we look, this word has been plastered all over the place. I cannot even look through emails, shop, or turn on the TV without this word thrown in my face. Do you see the key phrase in the meaning of the word pride? An unreasonable conceit. Unreasonable meaning, we all have some pride within ourselves as we should, but this is foolish pride. They are the ones who are so arrogant and proud that they are stuck on themselves and make fools of themselves. This reminds me of what Jesus said in not so many words about pride, [Luke 14:11  For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.]

Now, being noble is the pride that we ought to have, the type that brings us to not only have respect for our bodies, but others as well. And to do everything with integrity. [Integrity; the entire, unimpaired state of any thing, particularly of the mind; moral soundness or purity; uncorruptness; uprightness; honesty. Just this morning before even reading the chapters for today I told God that I will not let anyone take my integrity away from me ever again. Now, if we are honest with ourselves we have all had some lapses of judgments as to have done things that were not of moral soundness. All it takes is one impure thought to impair our integrity, but those who are noble learn from their mistake and turn away from it, it keep repeating it over and over again.

[Proverbs 19:1-3,9,11  Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.  2  Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.  3  The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.  9  A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.    11  The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.]

[Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity,] Integrity is not something that seems to be what people are willing to hold onto anymore. The world, and sadly, a growing number of Christians, take no pride in having a moral, Godly character anymore. This is the only kind pride that every saves, born again Christian should have, the kind that says that we will not defile ourselves before God no matter what the cost, [1 Corinthians 3:16-17  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.] This does not mean that God will take away salvation, it does mean that if they do not repent of their sin, their suffering death will be due to the suffering of the sin.

[The discretion of a man deferreth his anger;] If we are honest with ourselves, we all struggle with something that we do not want to get out. It does not matter if it is foolish pride, jealousy, envy, bitterness, lust, hypocrisy, judgment, addiction, adultery, idolatry, lying, it is sin and needs to be dealt with. And I will tell you this, the only one who can give us the power to remove sin from our lives is Jesus.

[Proverbs 19:21-23,27-29  There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.  22  The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.  23  The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. 27  Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.  28  An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.  29  Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.]

[the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.] That foolish pride may convince someone that they can live anyway they please, but God’s Word still stands. He will bring us to repentance one way or another, even if He has to bring us home before our time. God’s commands are not grievous, and if we think that we can mock God by justifying our sin by our salvation, then we better wake up, [1 John 5:1-3  Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.  2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.]

[Judgments are prepared for scorners,] [Scorner; Extreme contempt; that disdain which springs from a person’s opinion of the meanness of an object, and a consciousness or belief of his own superiority or worth.] Being a scorner sounds an awful lot like foolish pride, and anyone who mocks God will suffer His judgments. Forget the fact that billions of people will die and end up in hell through the ignorance of their religion, do you realize how many people walk around in ignorance to the fact that they are living in sin? I had someone try to tell me that “The Book” justifies their being able to drink in moderation. Well, my Bible tells me otherwise. Just because we are saved by grace that does not mean we can twist Scripture to justify sin.

[Proverbs 20:1,5-7  Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. 5  Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.  6  Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?  7  The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.]

[and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.] The first thing people will tell you in their foolish pride when you talk to them about their sin is not to judge them or make some claim that you think you are better than them. All I have to say is that whatever it is that we think is right or wrong, God is the one who is the deciding factor, and whatever He says, goes otherwise we will suffer until we repent.

[Proverbs 20:9,11,22,24,27,30  Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? 11  Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. 22  Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. 24  Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?  27  The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. 30  The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.]

[I am pure from my sin?] This is another why of saying that we all come short of the glory of God, [Romans 3:22-24  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:]

[The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil:] Bruises are the only way we learn that perhaps the thing we thought was good may not be so good for us after all. We cannot use salvation to justify sin, and we are to never rebuke or retaliate against God or anyone else who shows us the errors of our ways. Righteous judgment is the key to true integrity, it takes a few bruises for us to learn that some things are wrong, and we need to walk away from them, [1 Corinthians 10:11-12  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  12  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.]

While that passage is referring to those who think they are saved in their foolish pride and might want to make sure they have truly accepted Christ as their Saviour. We cannot pick and choose what we want to believe and follow from God’s Word, we must believe all of it and follow all of it.

[Proverbs 21:2-4,15-17  Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.  3  To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.  4  An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. 15  It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.  16  The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.  17  He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.]

[It is joy to the just to do judgment:] We are not perfect, and we never will be until we get home. We carry around a lot of baggage with us because we are sinners saved by grace, and because we are sinners we can expect chastening from our Father when we do wrong. And yet, He is faithful to heal us from every single wound we receive. A noble Christian is one that fears God, they learn self discipline, self respect, and self control, not because it is required, because they respect and honor God, and know that when they sin it is God they sinned against, [1 Thessalonians 5:15-23  See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.  16  Rejoice evermore.  17  Pray without ceasing.  18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  19  Quench not the Spirit.  20  Despise not prophesyings.  21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  22  Abstain from all appearance of evil.  23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Proverbs 19:23  The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your mercy, Your grace, and the peace You give us when we turn to Jesus for the things we need, desire, and to remove the sinful things from our lives that foolish pride binds us to. Lord, Lead us and guide us, give us patience to wait on Your timing and let us not become weary in doing what is right. Nothing is impossible with You on our side, in fact, Your grace is sufficient enough to see us through. And give us Your strength and power to remain faithful and remove any sin that chains us down. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
