About I’m Following Jesus

Share

I’m Following Jesus is a not-for-profit Gospel missions inspired by the following Scripture, “And When he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” – Mark 8:34.

I have taken the vow to follow Jesus, going into all nations, via the internet, teaching the Gospel of Christ, instructed by none other than our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and guided by the Holy Spirit.

I’m Following Jesus is provided to reach and teach the Gospel of Christ to the lost all over the world and His truths from the King James Bible.

I am excited to report that with God’s guidance and the internet thousands of people have been visited this site since 2007. All the glory goes to God for He truly is the only one keeping this site up and running.

What Is the Gospel?

It is the immaculate birth, sinless death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

What I Believe

1. The Scriptures

I believe that all sixty-six books of the Bible are the written Word of God. The Bible is divinely inspired and free from error throughout, in that holy men of God were directed by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” – II Timothy 3:16,17. I believe that the King James Bible is His Word Preserved and the only translation for the English language.

2. The Trinity

I believe there is Only One True and Living God, in three Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable.

God, the Father: God, as Father, reigns over all of His universe with providential care and is all powerful, all loving, all knowing, and all wise.

God, the Son: I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, is the only begotten Son of God, who became man without ceasing to be God, born of a virgin, so that He might be able to redeem sinful man. He accomplished this redemption by voluntarily giving Himself as the sinless, sacrifice on the cross, thereby satisfying God’s righteous judgment against sin. After the accomplishment of that redemption and justification by His resurrection from the grave, He ascended to the right hand of His Father, where He intercedes on behalf of those who put their faith and trust in Him.

God, the Holy Spirit (Ghost): I believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin; that He alone brings new life to those who are spiritually dead; that He baptizes (or places) all believers into the one true Church, which is the Body of Christ; that He indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of final redemption, bestows spiritual gifts upon them, and fills those who are yielding to Him. Every believer is called to live in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit so that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, but will bear fruit to the glory of God.

3. Creation

I  believe that man was created directly by God and in His image and that He created the heavens and the earth, including all life, in six literal twenty-four hour days, making life on earth under ten thousand years.

4. Man

I believe that the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve, was created in the image of God, their fall into sin is the basis for the necessity of salvation for mankind. Death, both physical and spiritual entered into this world as a direct consequence of man’s sin. This is true of all mankind; as all mankind are sinners, inherently from Adam and individually by choice and are therefore subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. And except a man be born again by the Holy Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

5. Salvation

I believe that salvation is the gift of God’s grace alone and is expressed in the individual’s repentance of self works, recognition of Christ’s death as full payment for sin, and acceptance of the risen Christ as Saviour. Salvation cannot be gained or made secure by works, but is freely given to all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. All who so trust the Saviour are forgiven of their sins and born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. Freedom from the penalty and power of sin is available to man only through Christ’s sacrificial death, His shed blood, and His complete, and bodily resurrection from the dead. Those who do not believe in Christ are subject to everlasting punishment. Believers are born again by the Holy Spirit, and enjoy eternal life with God.

6. The Devil – Satan

I believe that Satan is an actual person, and evil spirit, the author of sin, a liar and the father of lies, and the reason for the fall of man, and is destined to be judged an eternal punishment in the lake of fire, along with all who are not born again. He is the personal spiritual adversary of both God and man.

7. Atonement For Sin

I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins according to the Scriptures as the one and only sacrifice needed for atonement and redemption, and that all who believe on Him, and receive Him as their Saviour are redeemed by His sinless blood shed on the cross. I believe also in the resurrection of His crucified body, and His ascension into heaven; He is our High Priest and Advocate.

8. Eternal Security

I believe that Christ keeps those who are truly born again, once one accepts Him into his/her life, he/she receives eternal life.

9. The Christian Walk

I believe that we have a holy calling to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, and to live in the power of the indwelling Spirit in order to not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh is never eradicated in this life. Individuals must choose to keep the flesh in subjection to Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, or the flesh will surely manifest its presence in life and dishonor our Lord.

How This Site Was Directed By God

This website is truly directed by God, the Holy Spirit has been directing me with everything contained here from the start. And here is what He pressed on my heart.

1. The Name

One Thursday morning, June 5, 2009 5:30am, praying to God to give me direction on how He wanted me to serve Him using the internet. I already had a website promoting Christianity, but thought something was not quite right. Then all of a sudden this name pops in my head, Ready to Follow Jesus. The name sounded catchy and too good to be true and I actually thought, “No way?”, but I did not disregard it, and when I got up I checked to see if the domain, readytofollow.com was available. First thing I thought Praise God, He gave me a name! Now, I must use it for His glory. Then a year later, the sites namesake imfollowingjesus.com was created because the site has always been titled I’m Following Jesus, and added to further our mission to reach the lost with the Gospel. Now, readytofollow.com, which is is solely used to give the plan of salvation.

2. The Finances

I am a self employed web designer who has been hit very hard by the economy, I can go weeks without getting work. God provides all the finances needed to keep this site going without any donations.

3. Instant Access

I usually takes about 48 hours for a website to be published and in the system, this site had instant access the second it got published.

4. Quick Search

I registered the domain name with Google the next day, usually a website takes about 3 weeks for it to get picked up by the search engines. Within two days it could be found on the Google search, and within two weeks it was listed at number 44 in the search. Within a month it was listed on the first page.

The amazing and wonderful power of God! Without Him, I’m Following Jesus would not exist. I believe that God will use this site and all the sites created in a great way to help not only get many of the lost found, but to also provide wonderful encouragement and inspiration to keep all Following Jesus. Praise God!
