Message: Created By And For Him

Hello My Friend,

Happy New Year 2019! There is something about a new year that really does give us a new beginning, perhaps a new outlook, change, or vision, but regardless of what we are looking forward to as we begin another year in hopes that it will be better then the last (Please God), let it be Jesus that guides us through it, after all, He is the life, the truth, and the way. Now, bear with me as I change up the format of the devotion a bit, I will be using smaller blocks of Scripture within the chapters, and breaking them down however God leads me. I want people to understand that the Bible was given to us by God so that we can understand who He is, how He did things before He sent His Son, and what He expects of us if we choose to acknowledge Him as our God, and Creator. We do not need the Bible to know God exists, we do need it if we want an honest, true, and everlasting life with Him. “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” – Colossians 1:16-17.

The Book of Genesis, also known as the book of origins (first existence), was penned by Moses approximately between 1445-1405BC, the timeline for these events took place approximately between 4004-1406 BC. The purpose of the book was to preserve the historical background of Israel and record the beginning of creation, sin, redemption, and how God deals with man. What we are to learn from the book is that God is the Creator of all things, and His plan from the beginning included all nations. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” – Genesis 1:1-5.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Yes, God, with all His power, and might, created the heaven and earth. And He explains just how He did it all in six days as we continue to read the chapter. The first day, and this is one twenty-four hour day, He created the heaven, the earth, and water and light upon it. This does not mean God did not exist before then, or anything else for that matter, this means that this is what He chose to tell us about what He created for mankind. As God continues telling us how He created the earth He goes on to explain how He put life on it, beginning with land (Earth). And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.” – Genesis 1:9-13.

after his kind, whose seed is in itself,This means that every thing in nature itself, meaning it comes from its own seed (specie), it did not evolve into something else over time. Yes, you can combine a seed from an orange and a grapefruit and come up with a different flavor of citrus fruit, but you cannot combine an apple with an orange and it become something entirely different because it is not of the same kind. Man tries to play God all the time, and all they end up doing is causing problems for themselves. Do they actually think that they can mess with what God created and not face consequences for it? They die in their sin. And those who try to combine creation with evolution are going to deal with God also, we can speculate all we want, the Bible tells us what we need to know. Now, how do we know there are twenty-four hours in one day. God tells us.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” – Genesis 1:16-19.

and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:This is how we know. God designed the sun and moon to orbit the earth for a specific amount of time, one night and day is a day twenty-four hours. He also designed the earth to orbit as well, which is why one year is three hundred and sixty-five days, but every four years three hundred and sixty-six. And last of all, God created man and beast, not as one, but their own kind. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” – Genesis 1:25-28.

So God created man in his own image,” I always say, that even if it were possible that life itself formed from one spec someone had create the spec. God is so detailed that He tells us even how He created man, and speaking of a speck, we all started as, well dirt. “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” – Genesis 2:7,18,21-23.

Adam, means man, God gave Adam (man) everything he needed to live eternally on the earth, but He had one rule that must be followed. “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” – Genesis 2:8,16-17.

for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Obviously Adam did not know what death meant, they were like brand new children at this point, and only had God to teach them things. When we first come to the knowledge of God, we are like everyone else, eager for His attention, a bit scared because we are taught that if we disobey Him we will die, but until we truly understand what that death is we are ignorant to it. There was someone else who showed up on the earth, a fallen angel named Lucifer, and if you read Revelation with me you learned what happened that made God cast him out of heaven. Only, he did not look like any person, and he was there for one reason, to destroy what God created.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” – Genesis 3:1-6.

Ye shall not surely die:” And this is how we are all born with a sin nature, pure ignorance. We all want things we cannot have, that is if we are not content with what we have. Adam and Eve did not understand the impact that one wrong decision would make, and this is proof that being ignorant to sin does not save you, neither does putting the blame on someone else, which is what both of them did when God confronted them. God punished them all, even the snake. “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;” – Genesis 3:14-17.

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;” Enmity; 1. Opposition. 2. Hatred. A war is proclaimed between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent (devil). That war in heaven between Michael and the great dragon began now (Revelation 12:7), and likewise, there is a continual war between the wicked and the godly in this world today. “it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The gracious promise of Christ here is made who would come through the seed of the woman. By faith in this promise, we have reason to think, our first parents, and those before the flood, were justified and saved. “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;” -Ephesians 2:13-15. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” – Genesis 3:15.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for new beginnings, for the hope of eternal life and giving us Your truths to live by. Without You all is dark and void, but with You we can see the Light and a great year ahead. Lord, watch over us, guide us, and help us walk forward in Your Light throughout 2019, give us peace, comfort, and hope for a great, blessed, and prosperous year. Remind us how fortunate we are as this world grows more evil by the day, and never let us forget that we are fearfully and wonderfully made just the way You made us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
