Message: Giving All That You Have

Hello My Friend,

I do not know about you, but this has been a trying year so far, it seems like every step I take forward I get pushed two steps back. You know what the strangest thing of all is? I have been so blessed, I cannot even think of a time since I dedicated my life to Christ that I have not been more blessed. I am sitting here at my new desk, using my new computer, and I only have $19.58 in my bank account. What this tells me is that God takes care of me, not some of the time, but all of the time, even when I make some unwise decisions, even when I fuss and complain that He is not moving fast enough, and even when I am not giving my all to Him. You know, the key to God blessing us is not in what we give, it is our willingness in what we give, even a penny in His eyes is worth a fortune if we do it with all our heart. “And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.” – Mark 12:43-44.

even all her living.” Let me tell you, possessions may bring us joy, and God loves us so much that it brings Him joy to see us blessed with possessions, but what brings Him joy is our willingness to give back to Him. And while giving tithe is important to keep the church doors open, it is not the money that God is pleased with, it is our willingness to give Him whatever it is that He needs, and we all have something to contribute. God sent Moses up to the mountain and it was there that He gave him the plans for building a tabernacle, which is a sanctuary.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shittim wood, Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. – Exodus 25:1-9.

According to all that I shew thee,All of the things we go through, even the things we bring upon ourselves and God shakes His head at, are a pattern used to shape and mold us into the image of His Son. You know, God’s grace is astounding, even when we are at our worst He is right there to fix the problem, after we come to Him. With the exception of certain circumstances, God has and will only respond to our coming to Him willingly. When He asks for things we must be willing to give it to Him not out of obligation, but of our own desire. Let me tell you, even when it comes to giving tithe, if it is not of our own desire, God will not bless the offering. I have given large amounts of money to God before when my heart was not in it and guess what, He did not bless the offering, I have also given the last of my money, with all my heart, and seen Him bless it abundantly. “Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.– II Corinthians 8:11-12.

It was important that Moses follow these instructions entirely, one missed loop could have done a lot of damage. While we may not ever see the significance of knowing every loop needed in building God’s santuary, they are significant to God. Every part of the tabernacle, down to the very last loop of a curtain, was given specific details on how it was to be assembled and attached in order to become one tabernacle.

Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them. The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure. The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another. And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second. Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another. And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle. – Exodus 26:1-6.

and it shall be one tabernacle.” Just like all of the pieces puzzled together make one tabernacle, every soul that comes to Jesus makes one body of Christ. If you put together the talents of every one of us you can imagine the power that we would have as one body. Let me tell you, thousands of people say they are willing, but very few actually follow through, which is the very reason why our nations are falling into the hands of the devil. It is time that we as saved, born again Christians step up and do our part so that we become one strong body of Christ. “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.– I Corinthians 12:12,23-27.

It is great to have a sanctuary to meet with God, but we can meet Him anywhere, and we should meet Him anywhere. Before the tabernacle there was to be a court yard, enclosed with hangings of the finest linen that was used for tents. This court, according to the common computation of cubits, was fifty yards long, and twenty-five yards wide.

The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass. All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass. And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.” – Exodus 27:18-21.

to cause the lamp to burn always.Pure olive oil was to be burned before God daily, it signifies the gifts and graces of His Spirit, who indwells permanently in all believers of Christ. Christ is our Light, and without Him we will remain lost and in the dark, even if we are saved we can get lost in the dark. Today, it is the work of saved, Holy Spirit indwelling Christians to keep the Light shining by preaching and teaching the Scriptures, which are a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” – John 1:1-4,9.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.” – Exodus 27:20.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ to become the sacrifice needed that would redeem me of my sins and bring me to know that You are always with me. It is comforting to know that You indwell in me, but it is also a bit scary, because I do not want to do anything that makes a disgrace of Your sanctuary. Lord, I want to be a living sacrifice for You, to offer myself to You willingly and be used in anyway that You need me. Lead me and guide me, help me know Your will and follow it so I can bring You joy. Give me Your power to understand and know Your Word so that I can be ready and prepare to handle any situation You place before me, and let me be the light that shines Your Son through me every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
