Message: Settled In Heaven

Hello My Friend,

Recently, there was a riot in the streets and hundreds of Bibles were set on fire, this came to mine as I was reading the chapters for today. And that was when this passage jumped out at me, [Psalms 119:89-92  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.  90  Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.  91  They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.  92  Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.]

You can deny it, ignore it, rip it up, burn it, make thousands of versions based off it, pick and choose what you want to believe out of it, but the Word of God is settled in heaven forever, everything in it has, is, or will come to pass just as it is written. And it was not written for all the unbelievers, skeptics, and those who only want God part-time in their lives, it was written for believers of all of it, period. [2 Timothy 3:16-17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.]

While God focused primarily on the Jews before Jesus came here, He never denied anyone the opportunity to know and accept Him. Among the refugees during the time Babylon invaded Israel was a group of Arabs called the Rechabites, they went into Jerusalem seeking asylum, encamped in one of the open spaces. They clung to a law passed down to them by their father three hundred years before, through Jeremiah, God was about to show Israel the blessings that come from obeying their Father. Jeremiah invited them into the house of God, and offered them wine, but they refused as one of the commands of their father was not to drink wine.

[Jeremiah 35:6-8,11,13-14  But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:  7  Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.  8  Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters; 11  But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem. 13  Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.  14  The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.]

[but ye hearkened not unto me.] This was God referencing the fact that this tribe obeyed their father’s commands and would not waver, and yet, Israel would never listen or only follow whatever commands they wanted to follow. God does not work that way, you either trust all of His Word is true and follow it, or He will never accept you as one of His. Does God expect us to follow every command written in His Word? No. He knows our flesh, which is why He sent Jesus. What He expects is faithfulness, which includes confessing sin. Remember, Jeremiah got arrested, while he was in jail, God instructs him to write everything that happened and was about to happen, and have it read before the king. Jeremiah uses as man name Baruch to transcribe it.

[Jeremiah 36:2-4,8,19-20,23  Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.  3  It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.  4  Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book. 8  And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD’S house. 19  Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.  20  And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king. 23  And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.]

[and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth,] Since creation, the wicked have been trying to silence God, His Word, and those who preach it. You see, the problem is that the world and those who worship false gods see God as all the rests of the gods in the world, just some man made god they created. They fail to recognize that He is the living, breathing, walking, talking Almighty God, and their Creator. Since God will always remain, His Word will also, as well as every person who believes all of it to be true. God just had Jeremiah write the book all over again, in fact, it is what we are reading today.

[Jeremiah 36:27-31  Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,  28  Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.  29  And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?  30  Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.  31  And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.]

[all the evil that I have pronounced against them;] Do you think that by altering or destroying God’s Word that judgment will not come? Think again. The only way we can avoid judgment it to acknowledge it, and come to God through Christ. When God had placed judgment upon Judah He did everything possible to get them to return to Him, and while the majority were carried away, the rebels, including the king, this time Zedekiah, refused to listen and now they were coming after him. In an attempt to alter the plan, the Egyptians come in and attack the Chaldeans, which delayed things for a while, but it did not change the fate of the king and his family. Zedekiah, desperately asks Jeremiah to pray for him, and had him brought into the court of the prison.

[Jeremiah 37:1-3,7-8,15,17  And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.  2  But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.  3  And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us. 7  Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.  8  And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire. 5  Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison. 17  Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.]

[Is there any word from the LORD?] It often takes a tragedy to bring people to God, and that is when most discover who Jesus really is, it took my brother’s death for my dad to know Jesus, and he is in heaven now because of that. It took my cousin having a stroke before he knew Jesus, and it took my aunt to see her son having that stroke before she knew Jesus, and she is in heaven now, and it took me having an allergic reaction to supplements tat almost killed me before I knew Jesus. Until we know Jesus for who He truly is, and accept Him as our Saviour, God will never hear us, period. We must know the Son, before the Father knows us! [John 10:27-30  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.  30  I and my Father are one.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Your Word is settled in heaven, and nothing and no one can ever destroy it. You promise the second we receive Your Son as our Saviour that You will always be with us because we truly believe that He died a sinless death, was buried, and arose three days later to save us from the judgment of death and hell. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us Your power, strength, mercy, grace, and courage to live the rest of our life through Your Son. Keep us in Your Word, defending Your truths because so many are trying to silence You. Let us be Your voice and witness to an amazing and blessed life as we follow Your Word. And never let us cease from praying, knowing that You hear every word through Your Son in us. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
