Message: For God So Loved The World

Hello My Friend,

It seems like every day this nation becomes more divided, the progressive, socialists would have you think that the government is responsible for our well being, and whether we work or not, we all get paid the same, no more, no less than anyone else. Let me tell you, that only works with Christ. It does not matter how good or bad we are, we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. What that means is that there is a payment for sin, and that payment is death and hell. However, just as John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus made that payment for His believers, not the religious, who think their ways will save them, not the self righteous who think their ways will save them, but for those who truly believe in what He did for them. “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;” – Romans 3:22-25.

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,” Propitiation; Atonement. Forbearance; To spare, to cease. Through our faith in Jesus Christ alone, the atonement or payment for our sin has been made for us, and therefore, God has spared or ceased to give us the punishment we deserve. We must understand that while Jesus did die for all, that does not mean that He saves all. He will only save those who believe in His Gospel, and receive Him. Matthew gives an account to what Jesus instituted as soul winning.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” – Matthew 10:2-6,9-11,14.

Matthew the publican;” Notice that this is Matthew writing this and he calls out who he was, a tax collector, well despised by the people because most of them were accused of being thieves. Jesus will convert anyone, and then use them to reach His lost sheep. It was important that the Gospel first be preached to the Jews, it was their rejection of Christ that was needed to not only fulfill Scripture, but also pave the way for it to be introduced to the Gentiles after they were instructed to go out into all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” – Matthew 10:16-22.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake:” I will never forget the first time I went soul winning, I am not a person who is comfortable speaking out in public. The very first door we knocked on, a man came out screaming, shouting profanities about God. My friend says not to let it get to me because it was not personal, as it was God that he was mad at. The wolves are definitely out there, and they attack, sometimes daily, but Jesus never fails to fend them off. He tells us that it is not them that we need to fear, there is only one that we need to fear, and that is the devil himself.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.” – Matthew 10:27-34,40.

What I tell you in darkness,” I do not have to tell you that the world is very dark, our taking the Gospel of Christ out there does shine His light upon it, and when they see it we look like bugs to them that need to be squished. Nevertheless, not one hair on our head is uncounted for. Let me tell you, when we choose Christ we are going to face a lot of criticism and persecution, many within our very own family, but we cannot let them rule over our faith. When people accept and respect our faith in Christ, they are accepting Him, but when they reject us they are actually rejecting Him. And yet, we are to still love and have compassion on them. Jesus got word from the disciples that John the Baptist had been executed by Herod, and that they had buried him, although He already knew, saddened by the news, He got into a ship, but multitudes followed Him by foot.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.” – Matthew 14:13-22.

and was moved with compassion toward them,” Do not mistake medical miracles or sudden cures as something from man, it all comes from God as He has compassion on all. It makes you think of how sad Jesus gets when He has to tell one after another soul to depart from Him because He never knew them (Matthew 7:23). “Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship,” While Jesus does set us in the midst of the wolves, He does tell us when we must take a rest. Let me tell you, being a disciple for Christ takes a toll on your spirit and you need to rejuvenate by spending time with our Father. But Jesus had other plans for sending them alone on the ship. As they were on the ship the waters became very rough, Jesus, after spending time in prayer, heads out to them, walking on the water. They feared for their lives, and after what they had been seeing, thought He was a spirit.

But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.” – Matthew 14:27-36.

and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. You see, there is a difference between being healed and made perfectly whole. Jesus has mercy on all, He never lets one person die without knowing who He is at one point in their lives, and I imagine He attempted to reach them several times in their lifetime. Those who reject Him are just too blind to see that it was Jesus who healed them. Someone made perfectly whole is someone who not only has been healed by Jesus, they truly believed on Him, and received Him, and He in turn gave life to their soul. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23.

Today’s Prayer: Jesus, We do not always know where our present steps will take us, but we do know they lead to heaven if we received You as our Saviour. Our steps here may lead to cold, dark mountains, deep valleys, or crashing waves, but ultimately You are right there with us. Lord, You have chosen us, and commanded us to go out into the world and preach the Gospel, and that we keep doing so so that we can be blessed by our Father in heaven. Lead us and guide us, fill us with Your power and words that we might be a walking, talking light that shines that Gospel on all we pass by. Give us rest, peace, and joy as we serve You, let us not live in fear or doubt, but with the full assurance of Your watching every step we take. In Your name Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
