Message: The Hour Is Coming
Hello My Friend,
We are so divided as a nation that no matter what the political party half will be for and against whoever it is that has been chosen to lead our country. Right now, we have Donald Trump as president, and let me tell you, the nation is just as divided today as it was when Barack Obama was president. What is the difference? The progressives, the ones who claim to be fighting for the rights of the people, mock, taunt, and ridicule anyone who disagrees with them. They are the fools who hate God, bang on courthouse doors, destroy property, attack people, yet have no respect for authority, or even life itself. The reason I bring this up is because if you stop to think about it, Jesus had the same problem, these progressives did the same thing to Him, it did not matter what good He did they always found something to accuse Him of ,and were set out to destroy Him from the start. A divided house cannot stand, the progressives will not stop until they destroy everything that is actually good. “And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” – Mark 3:24-27.
“and then he will spoil his house.” Progressive; Moving forward; proceeding onward; advancing. My goodness, the world loves to twist and turn everything around, the progressives do just the opposite, they do not care about anything, but taking everything that does not belong to them, and will kill, maim, or destroy to get it. I really do not want to go into politics or start a debate, but they are actually what is are called Retrograde; Moving backward, declining from a better to a worse state. While the president is doing things to move the country forward and into a better state the progressives are opposed to everything he does, he could cure cancer and they would be against him for doing it. Wherever Jesus went people followed Him, believers, those who curious, and the unbelievers, and hated everything He did, I love the testimony of the man at the pool.
“Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” – John 5:2-9,16-18.
“which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda,” Bethesda; House of mercy, or the flowing water. Can you imagine, year after year, making your way to the hospital with the one thing that will cure you, but you cannot get up the steps to get it, and no one will help you because they want to beat you to it? Then you find Jesus standing there at the bottom, looking down at you, with His hand stretched out asking you if you want to be made whole? What a testimony we have to give when we come to the House of mercy, take Jesus’ hand, and are made whole. Praise God! While we rejoice at Jesus removing infirmity that plagues our body the second we receive Him as our Saviour, the world wants to destroy our testimony and Jesus. It did not matter that this man was walking, they wanted to kill Him because He healed people on the Sabbath, and said that God is His Father. Jesus points out that His Father sent Him to judge each and every one of them.
“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” – John 5:22-25,28-29.
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming,” Marvel; A wonder; that which causes a person to stand or gaze, or to pause. The progressives who do believe in God make a mockery out of Him, they change His Word, make up their own version of Him, live immoral lives, and yet wonder why there is so much evil in the world. We are not to stand there and wonder what is going on as if we have no clue, judgment is coming, and those who think they can escape it are just fooling themselves. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” – II Peter 3:9-10.
One of my nephews just turned one in September, and he is quite the instigator already, if his brothers tell him not to touch something he will deliberately just touch it with his finger. It is actually kind of funny, when I read this passage it reminded me that Jesus often did things to instigate, not to provoke them, but to see what these progressives would do. He entered in a synagogue on a Sabbath, and went up to a man with a withered hand.
“And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.” – Mark 3:1-6.
“Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil?” Do you see why I said, “He instigated them”? He knew who these people were, that they were only out to destroy Him, that nothing good that He did mattered. The progressives care less about the welfare of people, all they care about is themselves, they have no faith, and quite frankly are the very people who came up with this evolution garbage so they do not have to admit they are going to be held accountable for their actions. I tell you what, I would not want to be in their shoes for anything when they stand before Jesus. People were coming from all over to be healed by Jesus, it got to the point that He appointed His twelve disciples to go out and preach the Gospel, giving them authority to heal also. This did not go over well with the religious (progressive) group, but Jesus hearing them, called them out for what they really were, vipers.
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” – Matthew 12:34,37-40,43-45.
“and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself,” Have you ever wondered how a person could become wicked even though they know who Jesus is? They were never saved. You see, the unclean spirit is the devil, and he comes and goes into every unsaved soul, he will leave them for a time, and they will start cleaning themselves up on the outside, but since they are not saved the devil has a chance to come back in. And he does, and when he does, he finds that that person has cleaned itself up so he has no power on his own to turn them back to him, so, he goes out and brings back more evil spirits that will overtake that soul to the person is more wicked than ever. While a saved soul can do evil, the devil cannot get its soul, it belongs to Jesus, and this is exactly why he attacks the faithful Christian even more, he knows that while he cannot overtake their soul he can hinder them from telling others about Jesus, which is why we not only need to preach the Gospel, but live it also. “If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.” – I Corinthians 9:12-14.
Jesus Christ Magnified: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.” – John 5:25.
Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your simple plan, You do not make us follow a bunch of rules that we have no way of keeping to be one of Your children, You just want us to believe in Your Sons finished work on the cross, His burial, and resurrection three days later for that. While the devil can mess with me, I know that the Holy Spirit lives inside of me, and He is my guide to living in a way that pleases You. I embrace Your gift of eternal life that You have given to me, I may be weak, but Your Word is powerful to fight off the devil, and reassure me that You are with me even when others attack me. I can do whatever it is that You call me ti do because I know that Christ, who lives in me, gives me the strength to do so. I praise You, and ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
