Message: Be A Pillar

Hello My Friend,

There is something very disturbing going on in the world today, there is a great deal of division and hatred, the saddest, and most scariest thing of all is that it is among Christians as well. There is even a song, “Why Can’t All God’s Children Get Along?” This is the devils entire mission, to divide God’s children, and he is succeeding at a rapid pace. Jesus said, “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” – Mark 3:25. It is time for all God’s children to start setting aside their, holier than thou differences, that is dividing God’s house, and come together as one so that we can put Satan in his place. “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” – I Corinthians 3:1-3,8-9.

ye are God’s building. In case you did not know, God does not dwell in a building, He dwells in every saved, born again soul that receives Jesus Christ as their Saviour. A church or temple is a building where likeminded people of the same faith come together to worship God and fellowship with each other. The first temple ever built for this purpose was built by king Solomon, as instructed by his father, David. And in the fourth year of his reign he fulfilled that plan. He contacted the king of Tyre, and good friend of David’s to ask for help.

And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom. And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them. And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me. Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel. And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods. But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him? Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.” – II Chronicles 2:1-7.

And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens,” We cannot build up God’s kingdom alone, while God does not need anyone to build Him up, He does need us to come together as one to help build up His church. We are the bricks that Jesus uses to build upon His foundation, if we are arguing and fighting among each other all we are doing is keeping the lost from finding Christ. “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” – I Corinthians 1:10.

but that ye be perfectly joined togetherYou know, diversity is awesome because we are able to reach people in ways that others may not be able to. We are not all going to agree on everything, and we are not all going to do everything the same way, but that is perfectly fine because as long as we are preaching the same Gospel it does not matter how we teach it to them. With Solomon’s people and Huram’s people, construction of the temple began. Every piece, every detail that went into the temple was precise, pure, and only of the best quality.

Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon. Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits. And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains. And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.” – II Chronicles 3:1-2,14-17.

And he reared up the pillars before the temple,” Pillar; A tower; A kind or irregular column round an insulate, but deviating from the proportions of a just column. A supporter; that which sustains or upholds. Why did Solomon give these pillars names? Well, these pillars were not your average beam that kept the building from caving in, these were designed and named specifically for a purpose. Jachin, meaning he shall establish, was head over the priests during David’s reign, and Boaz, meaning fleetness or swiftness, was the kinsman redeemer who married Ruth, the Moabite, and kept the lineage of Judah going. He is also David’s great-grandfather, and written in the lineage from which Jesus would descend. These pillars, believe it or not, also represent every saved, born again Christian who stands on the foundation of Christ. “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.” – Revelation 3:12.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar” We are the support that not only the lost needs to find Christ, but weak and new Christians need to encourage them in Christ. I know it is not easy getting along with everyone, that diversity thing kind of makes it a little difficult, actually it is pride that makes it difficult, everyone wants to be right, and have things done their way. You know, it takes a lot of love, grace, mercy, faith, obedience, and walking with Christ for us to be pillars, but we must remember, it is not about us, this is about establishing God’s kingdom. As we continue reading about the construction of the temple, greater detail is given to the pillars.

And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God; To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars; And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars. He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases; One sea, and twelve oxen under it. The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass.” – II Chronicles 4:11-16.

and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars,” Chapiter; The capital of a pillar. The uppermost part of a column, serving as the head or crowning. So, if we are the pillars of Christ, guess who the Chapiter is? Of course, Jesus Himself. Jesus is the head of His Church, and each and every one of us are members of His body, He needs to be more than just our Chapiter, He needs to be the very foundation we are to be standing on. Think about it, it is one thing to be saved, it is another to be the pillar without standing upon His Rock. It is time for every Christian to humble themselves, put aside their differences, and unite as one to establish God’s kingdom before it is too late, and Jesus returns to claim His people. “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.” – James 5:7-9.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.” – II Chronicles 3:17.

Today’s Prayer: God, I understand that the second I called on Your Son, Jesus Christ to save me that Your Spirit entered my body and now You indwell in me. LORD, since Christ is my foundation, and Chapiter, I want to be more than just Your temple, I want to be the pillar You need me to be that gives support to the lost, to those lost in their way, and to those who are new in the faith. Lord, watch over me, guide me, teach me to love, obey, and trust in You at all times, and let me become a pillar to help establish Your Kingdom. In ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
