Message: The Bride of Christ

Hello My Friend,

Every girl has fantasies about their wedding day, they look forward to the day that they get to put on a pretty wedding dress, and be a bride. As they get older those fantasies tend to change, some elope, some do get their fantasy wedding, some do not get married at all. As I have said before, God takes marriage very seriously as He often relates the holy matrimony of one man and one woman as the marriage between His Son and His Bride, which is His Church. You see, to the world, this makes no sense, but to the one who believes the Word of God, they have hope of the day that they become the Lamb’s wife.

[Revelation 21:2,5--6,9-11,27  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 9  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.  10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.]

[but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.] You see, this is not a physical marriage, rather a spiritual marriage, one in which no one can enter unless they are dressed for the wedding. To explain this, Jesus gives another parable.

[Matthew 22:2-5,8-14  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,  3  And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.  4  Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.  5  But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 8  Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.  9  Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.  10  So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.  11  And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:  12  And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.  13  Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  14  For many are called, but few are chosen.]

[For many are called, but few are chosen.] There is not one soul born that does not get the opportunity to get saved. Many are called, only those whom have put on the blood of Christ will be chosen to sit at the wedding feast, [I Peter 1:18-20  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:  20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,]

Now, none of this is going to take place until Christ returns, during that time all the bodies of the souls that received Him as their Saviour, including those who believed He was coming before His passion, will resurrect. Now, that will be a sight to see! Many religions, even Christian centered do not believe that they resurrect. This time the Sadducees, did not believe in resurrection, but decided to chime in and see if they could catch Jesus say something wrong. And we will see why all of those who are saved, both men and women, are His bride.

[Matthew 22:23-32  The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,  24  Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.  25  Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:  26  Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.  27  And last of all the woman died also.  28  Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.  29  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.  30  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.  31  But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,  32  I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.]

[but are as the angels of God in heaven.] This means that while we all will know who each other are, since we would now be immortal, which means of a body that is not corrupted, we will be just like the angels, [I Corinthians 15:52-54  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.]

As Christians it is important to read and study all of God’s Word, the New Testament is actually a reflection of the Old, as Jesus often quoted from the Old. It is important that we know all the Scriptures so we can know how to answer those who come at us with these idiotic questions. This time Jesus had a question for all of them.

[Matthew 22:41-46  While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,  42  Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.  43  He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,  44  The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?  45  If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?  46  And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.]

[If David then call him Lord,] This is the passage that Jesus is referring to, [Psalms 110:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.] When Christ baffled His enemies, He asked what thoughts they had of the promised Messiah? How he could be the Son of David and yet his Lord? Well, if they knew the Scriptures and if the Christ was the mere man as they claim, who would not exist until centuries after David’s death, how could his forefather call him Lord? The Pharisees could not answer it, nor can anyone who cannot accept the fact that the Messiah in fact, took upon him human nature, and so became God manifested in the flesh as both the Son of man and the Son of David, by whom all believers become His bride, [Revelation 22:16-17  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.]

Today’s Prayer: Jesus, I know I did not have to search for You long because the second my heart sought You You found me right away. I boldly declare that You are the living God whom I serve. Only a living God can turn evil into good, bring joy out of sorrow, offer life beyond the grave, and take me as His bride for eternity. May I boldly proclaim You to be my King, my Lord, and my Saviour, and tell of all Your wondrous works. Lord, You have called me to serve You, and I want to serve You faithfully and obediently. Build me up and make me who You want me to be, give me Your power to be a witness, Your strength to be obedient, Your wisdom to know You more, Your protection from those who try to silence me, Your mercy when I fail, and Your grace to see me through until You come for me. I ask these things in Your name Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
