Message: They That Hear Shall Live
Hello My Friend,
There is a culprit behind every sin that is committed, and that is Satan, while he cannot forcibly make us commit sin no more that God can make us not, he is very good at manipulating us into thinking that we must do it. There is no temptation that we cannot get out of, the only way we fall is when we allow Satan to manipulate us through our desires, lusts, fears, or tears. “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” – James 1:13-15.
Many people do not get saved because they are too proud to admit the need Christ, they rather believe that their own works will save them rather than Him. In fact, most people reject Christ because they refuse to admit they are sinners. The Jews thought that their name would save them, but Jesus called them out on that several times, He bluntly states that if they reject Him they are rejecting God and that will be to their condemnation.
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.” – John 5:19-25.
“when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God:” Who are the dead? The souls that do not have the Spirit of God in them. The second we are born we are all walking, talking, dead souls, that is because of the curse of sin, but the second we hear the voice of Jesus, and let me tell you, you will hear His voice, we will not only believe, we will receive Him as our Saviour and our souls will be alive for eternity. Sin always brings death, our only defense is Jesus. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23.
The Pharisees claimed to live by faith, hated seeing Jesus around, they were convinced that He was of the devil and often sought opportunity to catch Him doing something that would discredit Him, Jesus calls them out.
“Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.” – Matthew 12:22-28.
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation;” I see how divided my country is and it makes me sad because if we do not get our act together and start coming together we will be destroyed. If we continue the path we are on, we are going to end up just like Israel did when Babylon invaded them because God got fed up with their constant rebellion. If you have not noticed, we have had more intense hurricanes and earth quakes in the last few years, and instead of bringing us together they all seem to be bringing apart. Faithful Christians, we need to be prepared, God is going to carry us out of our comfort zones and into some unknown territory, He will not let us suffer through this more that we are have to. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” – I Thessalonians 5:2-4.
Jesus sending His disciples only out into the cities of Israel to preach the Gospel, now we learn of why He did that. One, He too got tired and only could reach so many Himself, He needed help, and two, He could not go anywhere without the Pharisees waiting to catch Him into something that would prove He was a fraud.
“And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:” – Mark 3:9-15.
“And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.” Do not think that the devil is in control of anything, he too has to bow to Jesus. Just like the rest of us, he has the freewill to choose, he chose evil and will not budge, therefore his place will be in hell, along with everyone else who is too proud or follows the path of the Satan. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelation 21:7-8.
Jesus Christ Magnified: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” – John 5:24.
Today’s Prayer: Jesus, I know that I am helpless and weak when I try to do everything in my own strength, the more I go trying to do everything by myself, the weaker I get, and the devil is just lurking about just waiting for me to be tempted above what I am able. Lord, give me Your power, strength, wisdom, and grace to life this life You placed me in, when things get rocky, let me quickly turn to Your strength and not my own. I know I can do all things through You, who is my strength, not only in the trials of life, but victories as well. I pray in Your name, Jesus. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
