Message: By The Grace Of God I Am

Hello My Friend,

Dedication; The act of devoting or giving to, complete and wholehearted devotion. If you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour you can rejoice knowing that at least once in your life you dedicated you life to Christ by asking Him to save your life. A life with Christ is more than seeking Him for our salvation, it is dedicating our lives to Him as He dedicated His life to us. We do not devote our lives to Christ out of requirement for our salvation nor out of obligation because we are saved, we do it because if it were not for Him we would all be in hell. “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” – I Corinthians 15:10.

Grace is the most important thing we will ever acquire from God, it is more than His not giving us what we deserve for sin, it is everything, when we are weak His grace strengthens us, when we are tired, He grace gives us rest, when we cannot stand His grace carries us. God loves a person who is wholeheartedly devoted to Him, the amazing thing is that when we are, He is devoted to us. Now, the Tabernacle was all set up, the people were told what they needed to bring, and one by one, each head of the twelve tribes brought their offerings. These offerings were not for redemption, but for their work in service of setting up the Tabernacle.

And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them; That the princes of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered: And they brought their offering before the LORD, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service. And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them unto the Levites. Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service: And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.” – Numbers 7:1-9.

But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none:” These were the offerings given to the Levites so they could perform the daily duties of the Tabernacle, these were not payment for their work. Giving tithe and offerings to the church is not a means for them to get rich, it is to keep the doors open so those who are spiritually sick can be healed in so many ways. While pastors and some staff within the church do get a wage as they are fulfilling the duties God gave them, most churches are full of people who are living sacrifices, giving their time without ever seeking financial gain. Since the Kohathites were to carry the most valuable parts of the tabernacle upon their shoulders they were not given any wagons to carry. God knows how much of a burden we can take, He often uses the least qualified people for His greatest work, it is by His grace that we can carry upon our shoulders. “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – II Corinthians 12:9.

Altar; A mount; a table or elevated place, on which sacrifices where offered to God. A place of worship. The altar was the place where the people brought their offerings to God, this was the one place they could wholly bring their heart. Now, the princes (heads) of each of the twelve tribes stood before the tent with their offerings and every day for twelve days the same offering was offered for the dedicating of the altar.

And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar. And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof was an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them were full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering: One spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense: One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering: One kid of the goats for a sin offering: And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.” – Numbers 7:10,13-17.

even the princes offered their offering before the altar.” This is proof that no one is better than anyone else, no one can give more or less to God for their salvation, there is only one offering that gives us salvation and today, that is Jesus Christ, who gave His sinless life to be that sacrifice for all who willing bring Him to the altar. “Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” – Hebrews 10:5-6,10.

Count it a blessing that we are no longer required to bring all these animals to the altar if we want peace and fellowship with God. On the Twelfth day, here was the sum of everything brought for the altar.

This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold: Each charger of silver weighing an hundred and thirty shekels, each bowl seventy: all the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: The golden spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing ten shekels apiece, after the shekel of the sanctuary: all the gold of the spoons was an hundred and twenty shekels. All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meat offering: and the kids of the goats for sin offering twelve. And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar, after that it was anointed. And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.” – Numbers 7:84-89.

then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony,God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, there is always a sacrifice required to be able to stand before Him. He is only pleased when we come to the altar with our sacrifice, and He knows whether or not we are sincere in what we are offering. Even if people say they believe in Christ that does not mean they are solely trusting Him or have brought Him to the altar. Only by grace are we saved through our faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, not by our own works, but by His. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.” – Numbers 7:9.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank you for Your grace, for without it I surely would be lost. Lord, I dedicate myself freely to You. May my actions not be based on mans changing words or the standards of the world, but the standards of Your unchanging, living Word. Let it be an anchor for my soul so that I will keep moving forward with my Saviour Jesus Christ. Help me to be watchful for those who are veering off course so that I can encourage them in the faith and be an encouragement for their wandering souls. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
