Message: Being On Gods Path

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading these chapters I could not help, but think of the times in my life when Jesus was not in it and how He watched over me and protected me even then. Before I knew what Jesus was all about, I like, many others only thought of God as a religion, if I wanted a relationship with Him I had to follow that religion, and if I did not I was rejected. It took me a while to figure it out, but after a lot of heartache, and after a lot of wrong decisions, I discovered, God is not a religion, He is God, and a relationship with Him must first begin with His Son. Oh, how blind was I to not have seen Jesus when He was right there in front of me, yet He knew someday, somehow, I would find Him, and praise God, I did, and He has changed my life so much since then. Praise God. You see, when we take the religion out of our relationship with God we see that His way is always the best way, and always leads to His Son lighting the way to more than our salvation, it leads to our being a great testimony.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.” – Psalm 25:4-10.

teach me thy paths.” Sometimes we think we are on the right path, we have this great relationship with God, He has blessed us with so much, we just want to return the favor by doing something for Him. Did you know that God has specific things that He wants us to do? After David got settled in as king, brought the Ark into Jerusalem, he felt so blessed that he wanted to do something for God, he decided that the tabernacle was not sufficient enough and spoke with Nathan the prophet about building a house, even Nathan said to do what he felt in his heart, but God did not want him to build Him a house.

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains. Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee. And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in: For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?” – I Chronicles 17:1-6.

Why have ye not built me an house of cedars? If God wanted them to build the temple He would have given them instructions on how to do it, just like He did the tabernacle. Even when it comes to doing things for Him it has to be on His time, and how He says. He will tell us exactly what He wants us to do, and when, we just have to listen to Him, and when He speaks, His voice is powerful.

A Psalm of David. Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory. The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.” – Psalm 29:1-4,9-11.

The LORD will give strength unto his people;” When we allow God to guide and teach us we will find His mercy, grace, truths, and His desire for our lives. Sometimes I wake up and wonder if it is God who put me where I am right now, or was it something I did from my heart, trying to say it was God. God chooses our path, and yes, we are going to take detours along the way at times, but once He decides that He has something specific for us to do, He will get us back on the path one way or another. Look at Jonah, Moses, David, Job, even Ruth and Esther, when we give God our heart, He reveals His. The funny thing is that God’s path takes us much higher than we what we would do ourselves, and I think that is more of a mystery than anything. As God reveals to David that He was going to build His house through his seed he wonders why God wants to use him.

And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God. What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant. O LORD, for thy servant’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things. And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.” – I Chronicles 17:16-19,26-27.

Who am I,There is not one faithful Christian that does not look at God and say, “Who am I?” when they discover that His path takes them to much greater promises. God is not looking for perfect people to further His Kingdom, He is looking for those who have a heart for Him. No child of God is perfect except Jesus Christ, we are going to mess up, sometimes big time, but God knows our heart, He is merciful, graceful, and forgiving all the time. Keep in mind that God is our strength, nothing on the earth is strong enough to keep us faithful, I know we get this idea that we can handle things on our own and that we could never fall from God, but if we are not walking on His strength we will fall.

Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” – Psalm 33:8-11,17-22.

An horse is a vain thing for safety:” This is a metaphor, nothing on earth is strong enough to handle the things that God places before us or that we bring ourselves into, only God can give us the strength to deliver us to the path He has for us. Our heart wants to do it all by ourselves, and suffer aimlessly rather than seek help from the Almighty, but seeking God’s heart will not only give us the help we need, it will end the suffering, at least, until the next path He leads us. An Evangelist once said, “If you aren’t being afflicted than you aren’t a Christian.”, I disagree with that statement, affliction comes to all, but it is Christ who gives us the strength to endure it. “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:12-13.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.” – I Chronicles 17:11.

Today’s Prayer: God, Your heart is so big that You sent Your only begotten Son to the cross to take our place for the sins debt we owe. As much as we would like to believe that we can walk the path we have chosen, the truth is, You have a path for us, and it is much better than our own. Lord, teach us Your ways, lead us and guide us to Your truths, open our hearts to take all of You in us, open our eyes to see everything You have to show us, open our ears to hear You still small, but powerful voice. You are our strength, our hope, our peace, our salvation, our loving God, and Father, our help, and our shield for every path we take. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
