Hello My Friend,
I listened to an actual born again Jew tell us just how difficult it is to talk about Jesus in Israel. Did you know that it is actually against the law to preach the Gospel in Israel? In fact, it is easier to preach the Gospel in Muslim country than Israel, and yet, God continues to protect the land. Do you know why? It is the land that God had given Israel that He protects, not necessarily all the Jews. You see, salvation is not based on who and where we came from, but our faith solely in the LORD, Jesus Christ. There will come a day when all Jews will recognize Jesus as the Messiah, but right now, they are just like every other false religion, they worship a god, but it is not the Almighty, God Himself, [John 4:21-24 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.]
Remember how many Jews got swallowed up in the earth when they rebelled against God after He told them that they could not go into the promised land for forty years? [Numbers 16:32-33,35 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. 33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. 35 And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.] This all happened because they believed the evil report of the ten spies that told them that they could not go into the promised land because the people were too strong instead of Caleb and Joshua who told them the truth. People have been believing lies over the truth since God created man, and let me tell you how much God despises those who speak lies, but believing the lies does not make us innocent either. As God continues to tell the people of Judah of the judgment placed upon them, He upbraids them for believing the lies.
[Jeremiah 7:2-8 Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD. 3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these. 5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. 8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.]
[ye trust in lying words,] How easy is it to trust the lies over the truth? Take it from someone who has had lies told about her, it is very easy. Let me tell you, since the day that Eve believed the lie that Satan told, God is more angry at the ones who believe the lies rather than trust His truths. This is why He does not save anyone that trusts in a false religion, even if they believed in it out of ignorance. You see, God gives every person the opportunity to know the truth, especially if they come from a religion that proclaims Him and Christ as the Saviour. If they have it in their hearts to trust the lying religion over the truth, then He will not hear one prayer.
[Jeremiah 7:11,14-16,19 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD. 14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. 15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?]
[become a den of robbers in your eyes?] This reminds me of what Jesus did and said when He went into the Temple and began turning over all the tables, [Matthew 21:12-13 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.]
[to the confusion of their own faces?] God is not the author of confusion, He makes is simple, in order to worship Him, we must believe the truth that we can only come to Him through His Son. People do not want to hear the truth, which is why they go through such great lengths to find something that is justifiable to them, while still attempting to maintain that security from God. They want the tickling of their ears, their sins sugar coated, and peace that allows them to keep living in sin without the fear of the consequence, but every sin comes with consequence, especially unrepentant, [James 3:13-16 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.]
Let me tell you, the truth does hurt, especially if we are doing something we ought not be doing, this is actually the Holy Spirit trying to get our attention. God actually speaks to us many times before we really listen to Him, but there are some who are oblivious to that fact because they have been trusting the lies over the truth. As God continues explaining why He was judging Judah, He upbraids them for their vain wisdom.
[Jeremiah 8:8-9,11-13 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. 9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? 11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. 12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD. 13 I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.]
[the pen of the scribes is in vain.] We see all these versions of the Bible, but there are really no versions, there is only one Bible, and that is found in the King James Bible. Versions are just that, someone’s opinion of what the Bible says, and is often altered as they cannot copy it word for word. Here is a hint, anytime a new “version” is created, they are eliminating twenty percent of the last version that was written to avoid copyright laws. They will tell you that what they have done is revised God’s Word so that it is easier to understand, but the truth is, they are attempting to eliminate history as a means to justify their sin and actually make a profit for themselves. Do they think that God is a fool and believes that they are serving Him? Oh, but they are the fools. God goes to explain how angry He is at those who speak those lies, and also those who forsake the truth.
[Jeremiah 9:8,13–16 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait. 13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: 15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. 16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.]
[But have walked after the imagination of their own heart,] This is why the wise are fools, and God will give those who refuse to hear the truth up to their reprobate mind, [Romans 1:22-23,26-28 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;]
If you ever wondered why these foolish men call themselves women and women call themselves men, or why so many women kill their babies in the womb, or why so many children to be unruly to their parents, here is the reason, He gave them all up to their reprobate minds. He really does not even acknowledge them. However, He does give all and opportunity to repent, [1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.]
Remember, God’s ways are not our own, and His thoughts are not as our own, we cannot pick and choose what we want to believe from His Word and obey only that, we must believe in and obey all of it. God warns us over and over again not to trust in man’s wisdom, but His, [Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.]
[that he understandeth and knoweth me,] The people during Jeremiah’s day may not have known Jesus Christ personally, but they did know the LORD, and right well knew that He was the only way to salvation. The things Jesus spoke were the exact same things God spoke through all the prophets, He warns time and time again not to trust in our own understanding, but His, [Proverbs 3:5-8 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.]
Jesus Christ Magnified: [Jeremiah 7:3,24 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Jeremiah 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.]
Today’s Prayer: God, You make it simple to understand You, and Your ways, and we do not need thousands of books written by man, we just need Your Word and the Holy Spirit. He will direct us to the truth, will even guide us to dictionaries and other men and women who know it. Lord, keep me in Your Word so I can discern Your truths from the lies, and not only that, live through it so I can be a witness and testimony that brings the lost to Your Son, who is the only way, truth, and life. I ask these things in Your name Jesus. Amen.
