Message: Sin Lies At The Door

Hello My Friend,

When you stop to think about all the evils in the world, and how it really came to man both through ignorance and lust, you really cannot blame Satan for all of it. I say that because, we really do have no idea what we are doing if we are not being taught right from wrong through God’s eyes. In a moral sense, unless we are taught, we do not know that it is wrong to say, take an apple from a store, and give it to someone who is hungry. Sin really does come naturally to us, and we do not need Satan for that as he too has fallen from grace. Satan is however, the instigator, he looks for our weak spots and nudges us, and if you think a saved soul cannot fall for his tricks, think again. While he can never touch the soul of the one who put their faith and trust in Christ to save them, he can mess with the heart, and the body, and that is exactly what he does. Why? To get even with God. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12.

While God was creating life on the earth, He had already created the heavens, which included the angels. As we know from the Book of Revelation (Revelation 10), there was a war up in heaven, Satan, just could not get past the fact that God created him for His purpose, it was not to rule the angels or mankind, but to minister to them. It was as if Satan was saying, “How dare he make me a servant with all the power that I have!” So, he and other fallen angels, were cast out of heaven, and down to the earth because they wanted God’s power. We need to understand that it is God who allows Satan to afflict or tempt us, but He only allows him to go so far. What it all comes down to is how we react to the temptation, and I will tell you, if we are truly walking with God, Satan cannot influence us, but if we are not, it is only a matter of time before he gets us right where he wants us. It did not take long for Satan to set his eyes on Eve, she must have been looking at the one tree that she could not eat from for quite some time. He disguises himself as a snake, rather, he spoke through it.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” – Genesis 3:1-7.

Now the serpent was more subtil” Subtle; Sly; artful; cunning; crafty; insinuating; Deceitful; treacherous. Did you ever watch a snake? It really is a quite magnificent creature, scary, sly, and very sneaky. I read this article about a woman who had a snake that would lay in her bed with her, in fact, it would cuddle itself close to her body. She took it to the vet because it would not eat anything, come to find out, the snake was preparing itself to eat her, and that is why it was cuddling up to her, it was sizing her up so it had enough room to eat her. That is exactly what the devil does, he sizes us up, and prepares to devour us. Adam and Eve did not understand the impact that one wrong decision would make, and this is proof that being ignorant to sin does not save you, neither does putting the blame on someone else, which is what both of them did when God confronted them.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” – Genesis 3:11-16.

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;” God declared the seed of the woman (man) and the seed of the serpent (devil) as enemies, they would forever despise one another. “it shall bruise thy head,” This is of course, Jesus, who would be sent through a woman to crush Satan’s head, meaning destroy him when Jesus became incarnate and suffered and died. “and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Although Satan got the glory for three days when Jesus was crucified, it was crushed when He arose three days later. We crush Satan through our faith in Jesus (Romans 16:20) “she gave me of the tree,” Of course, God knew this was going to happen, but if they would have just admitted what they had done it would not have been so bad. Until we admit we are sinners, God will not save us spiritually from death. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” – Romans 10:10-11.

I do not care what you believe, every person born wants God in their lives, their hearts just change as God loses respect for their halfhearted efforts. When God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply that is what exactly what they did. In fact, they had several children, and their children had children. By human reasoning this sounds disgusting, but we must understand that during this time God created them to populate the earth, and since they had all of the twenty-three genes every known to man, this was possible without the genetic side effect that would happen today. The Bible tells us of two of their children, Cain and Able, and by the way, Cain is an example of religion, while Able is an example of doing what pleases God, and not man.

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.” – Genesis 4:1-8.

sin lieth at the door.” Sin is right there constantly knocking at the door, and once we let it in it truly does rule over us. Take those who choose to live as homosexuals, lesbians, transgenders, these people have let the sin in, and now it rules over them. The same goes for those addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, food, sex. Many people try to say that God did not approve of Cains offering because it was not a blood offering, I disagree with that as you will see later that God accepted grain offerings if one could not afford animals as a sin offering (Leviticus 14:21-31). Cain may have brought the best of his crop, but his heart was not in it, you cannot buy God’s approval, it must be earned first by your faith in Him. God does not want us to come to Him out of obligation, He wants us to come to Him willingly, and when we do, we will give Him our very best, and He will accept it. God used another son to bring up a generation that would be faithful to Him, Seth.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.” – Genesis 5:3,21-24,29.

and he was not; for God took him.” Enoch was one of two people that did not see death as we do, God just took Him up into paradise. Quite often, we question why God takes someone before their time, but God knows exactly when it is time to take someone home to Him, even when a person has had their last chance to be saved, reprobates they are called, and while God gives all the opportunity to be saved, some are just way beyond that. And of we think that the world is a mess today, imagine how bad it was that God repented of creating mankind all together? This happens when the children of God get with well, the children of the devil, also known as the children of men. God describes the state of the world, and why He repented of creating man.

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” – Genesis 6:1-8.

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair;” Of course, they were pretty and enticing, that is how the devil influences the lust of mans flesh. “the same became mighty men which were of old,” Have you noticed that children today develop faster, and are older than they look? This is all an impact of man messing with creation, and it is only going to get worse. “and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Fornication, adultery, incest, bestiality, homosexuality, same sex marriage, polygamy, these are some of the things that made God repent of creating man, and He still hates them today. This is the immoral condition of the world today, men, women, and children giving into every evil imagination of their heart or rather their lusts.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth,” This is not the same as our repenting of sin, meaning feeling such deep sorrow of our sin that we turn from it. This is feeling great sorrow and grief, almost like mourning the loss of a loved one. When you think about it, this is exactly what God was doing. These were His creation, and yet, only one man out of millions lived a moral life, and walked with Him. God knows our flesh, He does not expect us to be perfect, which is why He sent His Son, He does expect us to be faithful, and that includes repenting of sin. Let me tell you, when we learn to desire the things of God, that is when the desire to sin becomes less and less. “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” – Romans 8:12-14.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for giving me life, and for the life that You have given me. While I do not always understand the trials and obstacles that You place before me as I walk the path You have chosen for me, I do understand that I am Your precious child through my faith in Your Son. I know that Satan cannot touch my soul because it belongs to Christ, but he can entice and influence me if he gets a hold of my heart, and I am not walking with You. I do want to live my life to please You, I want to value life by living it guided by Your Word, and walking side by side Jesus. Lord, give me Your power to love life, no matter where You place me, give me the strength to sustain my life by being a witness and testimony of how living a moral and just life leads to Your Son. And keep my eyes on Your Son that I might not be tempted to turn to lusts of my flesh. I pray this in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
