Message: Challenged To Perfection

Hello My Friend,

As Christians, it can be a challenge to understand God’s purpose and plan when you are facing things that are questionable. Why do we have to go through such trying experiences to see God? Well, the truth is, God is a perfectionist, and He uses trials, temptations, and tribulations to perfect us. Now, we will never be perfect, that is until we get to the Kingdom of God, but Jesus Christ is perfect, and since He lives in every soul who receives Him as their Saviour, He is our grace, strength, and faith to endure every challenge in God perfecting us. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” – 1 Peter 5:8-10.

Some challenges are understandable, like, if God has called us to serve Him in His ministry we can expect Him to see some temptation and trials in order for Him to perfect our faithfulness to Him. Sometimes we look at the things that God wants us to do and cannot believe He even chose us for the job. When Solomon became king he had more than just the kingdom of Israel to oversee, he had to oversee the most challenging task of all, the building of the temple in which the Almighty and only living God Himself would dwell. I Kings 7 gives more detail about the structure of the building, special attention was made to the pillars.

And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter. And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits. And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter. And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz. And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.” – I Kings 7:18-22.

And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple:” Pillar; A supporter; that which sustains or upholds. Names were given to the pillars, Jachin, meaning he will establish, Boaz, meaning quickness. Jesus, is the pillar of every born again soul, He establishes and quickens us as we are supported by His blood. Fitting that the temple was built on the very spot David met Jesus (the angel of the LORD) when he built the altar that held the sacrifice that stopped anymore people from losing their lives to the plague. Jesus will return and when He does it will be quick, and He will establish His kingdom in the earth. “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” – Revelation 16:15.

Now that the structure was built, we get details of the furniture that would go inside, everything was built with the same quality materials as the building itself. Solomon lists all the items that Huram made for the temple. Compared with that of the tabernacle, this showed that God’s church would be enlarged and multiplied greatly.

And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God; To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars; And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars. He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases; One sea, and twelve oxen under it. The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass. In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.”- II Chronicles 4:11-17.

In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them,” Every thing that comes into God’s temple needs to be pure and of the best quality, God’s temple is no longer in a building made with walls, it is within every saved, born again soul of Jesus Christ. The second a person believes in the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s only begotten and perfect Son, and accepts that He is the only one who can save them from their sins God enters their soul. We are His temple, and believe it or not, as filthy as we think we are, and rightfully should, God does not see our sin, He sees His Son, the blood of His Son, and that is what makes us perfect in His eyes. If we do not have Christ in us, we are filthy rags, He cleans us up, and makes us stand before God with perfection. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” – Isaiah 1:18.

Now, special detail is given to all the vessels that would go into the temple, such as the spoons, candlesticks, and even the hinges for the doors.

And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out. And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was, And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold, And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple. So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.” – I Kings 7:47-51.

the things which David his father had dedicated;” Dedicate, To set apart and consecrate to God. When a person first receives Christ as their Saviour it is as if the weight of every sin committed has been lifted off and removed, they are empty and clean. Since God dwells in us, He wants us to dedicate our mind, body, and spirit to Him, the only way we can do that is by feeding ourselves with things that are pleasing to Him. I recently began a gluten free, low carb diet and for the first time in years I felt light and energetic, but yesterday I ate some pizza and now I feel weighed down and miserable. Perfecting our house for God means eliminating things from our mental, physical, and spiritual diets that weigh us down and make us miserable. We are never going to be perfect, but we can learn from our mistakes and make less if we dedicate everything we put in our bodies to God. “But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.” – Psalms 4:3,4.

Jesus Christ Magnified: Today Jesus is revealed through all the vessels that wen into the temple. Jesus is the only vessel who dwells in believers through the Holy Spirit. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body.” – John 2:19-21.

Today’s Prayer: God, I know that there is no way that I am ever going to be perfect, and I thank You that no work of my own qualifies me to be one of Yours, I only need to believe in and receive Your perfect Son ans my Saviour. Lord, as You mold me and shape me through the challenges you place before me, give me Your power, strength, mercy, and grace to endure them. Help me to learn of and follow all Your commands so that each day Christ is seen in me and less of myself. In Jesus name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
