Message: Listen To God’s Voice

Hello My Friend,

The other day I saw God intervene and actually stop me from helping someone, right then and there I literally asked God why He was so good to me. I fail Him so much, and yet His hand is always right there holding on to me. Jesus said, [John 10:27-29  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.]

Well, let me tell you, Jesus may let us dangle on that cliff, and we may suffer some things because, after all, we can be hard of hearing, but He never lets us fall away from Him completely. This is why I believe that those whom have truly accepted Christ as their Saviour can never say they no longer believe, even though they fail Him, they are one with Him forever. Amen! [John 17:23-26  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  24  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.  25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.  26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.]

[Curse; 1. To utter a wish of evil against one; to imprecate evil upon; to call for mischief or injury to fall upon. 2. To injure; to subject to evil; to vex, harass or torment with great calamities. 3. Condemnation; sentence of divine vengeance on sinners.] We have all been there, had one of those days or even weeks or months sometimes where everything we do seems to well, feel like you are cursed. Satan is a big factor in those unfortunate events that always seem to come out of nowhere and in number. Remember Job? The longer we go through this entire ordeal with the pandemic that never seems to end, the more I discover that God’s hands cover His anointed. Now, here we are, Moses has finished talking to the new generation about what God expects of them once they cross over the Jordan, just take an extra moment and think about what is written in these two chapters and notice how this would actually apply to all who accept Christ as their Saviour as well.

[Deuteronomy 27:2-7  And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:  3  And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.  4  Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.  5  And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.  6  Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:  7  And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God.]

[And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law,] First of all, they were to build a wall, and write the Law upon it, this was so that all who would enter in would know that that was God’s country. Second, they were to build an altar of rocks, not one tool to build it. And third, they were to send an offering up to God upon the altar, and eat the offering while sitting among the altar. The foundation of any believer of God is His Word, since Christ is the Word made flesh, we offer Him upon the altar, who also happens to be the Rock upon which we stand. If we were to lose everything we possess on the earth, well, technically we will because we cannot take any of it with us when we leave here, we would still have everything we need with Christ, [I Corinthians 3:11-15  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  12  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  13  Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  14  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  15  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.]

[but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.] Now, that is an understatement. There is a curse that was passed down to all mankind because of sin, and that is death and hell. In fact, hell itself was meant for Satan and his minions only, but all that changed when man sinned and brought that condemnation upon us. Nevertheless, God had a plan, He really did not want to see one soul in hell, so He gave man a choice, and if you choose Him, then mean it by listening to what He has to say and at least attempt to obey His voice. This is what Moses tells the Israelites, in fact, as soon as they step over into the Jordan, they will become His people.

[Deuteronomy 27:9-13  And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.  10  Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.  11  And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,  12  These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:  13  And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.]

[this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.] Our Jordan is Christ, the second we accept Him as our Saviour, we cross over into the promised land and become one of God’s people. And while we do suffer, as I said earlier, because we can be hard of hearing, He truly does have a hedge about us that keeps us from going over the edge, and not even Satan can touch us. I was reading in my studies about opinion verses fact, opinion, even though it could be a fact, it is often based on ones bias to their belief. Well, the very first thing I thought of when I read that was, “Yes, I am biased, I believe in Christ, and I do not care what anyone else thinks.” Lately, all we hear about is what man says we are to be, do, and think, well, I do not care about mans opinion, I care about God’s fact. They can deny His Word as fact all they want, that does not mean they are correct. God’s Law trumps mans any day, and it is going to send them to hell, [Matthew 23:13-14  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.  14  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.]

[and for a pretence make long prayer:] And speaking of prayer, God does not hear the prayers of those who make up their own rules, or religion. Curses come when man makes their own rules instead of following God’s, especially when they are proclaiming God or Christ, and create Him into their own image. Now, half of the tribes stood one mountain, and read off all the thing that would bring a curse upon the nation.

[Deuteronomy 27:15,17-19,26  Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.  17  Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.  18  Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.  19  Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen. 26  Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.]

[And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.] I saw someone with a t-shirt that said, “A-Woman” on it, and it angered me. Remember, when that foolish Congressmen started all that when he ended a prayer by naming off all these gods and then saying, “A-men and A-woman”? If we put this is today’s terms, cursed are those who pray to false gods, and statues. Cursed are those who removed all the landmarks that made this nation one under God. Cursed are those who are biased in their judgment toward God’s people, and let the wicked go free. And cursed are those who say they believe God’s Word to accept Christ as their Saviour, but do not believe and follow the rest of His Word. And all the people shall say, Amen. God did not give His Word to those fools anyway, He gave it to His people as guide to know that His ways are so much more than our own. We are truly blessed when we are faithful to Him and His Word. God promises that if they listen to Him, and do what He says, then they will be blessed.

[Deuteronomy 28:1-6,9-10  And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:  2  And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.  3  Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.  4  Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.  5  Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.  6  Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 9  The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.  10  And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.]

[to observe and to do all his commandments] Now, did God expect the Israelites to remember and obey every one of the six hundred and thirteen commands? No. What He expected was faithfulness, should they break a command confess it and come to Him for atonement. People who refuse to follow Christ because they do not want to obey His commands are fools. Everyone has rules that they must obey, even panhandlers who live on the streets must get a permit to be able to stand there and solicit people for money and can only do it in certain areas. I rather listen and obey God’s commands because they are not grievous, [I John 5:3-4  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.  4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.]

[if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.] Obeying the voice of God does not always come easy for us, we are set in our ways, we have wants, needs, and desires that do not always line up with what God wants for us. People think that if they choose Christ then that it means losing everything enjoyable, but the truth is, we will be blessed becase we lose is everything that brings the curses, [Luke 18:13-14  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.]

[The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself,] Saved, born again Christian, there is no more, the Jew and the Gentile, there is the holy people of God, which you are through your faith in Christ alone, [I Peter 2:9-10  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:  10  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.]

We are justified by our faith in Christ, we are blessed by God by living a life that glorifies Him. And just because we are saved that does not mean we can live in sin without consequence. All sin brings curses. After the short list of blessings that come through their obedience, the long list of curses come for their going against Him.

[Deuteronomy 28:21-23,27-29  The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.  22  The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.  23  And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.  27  The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.  28  The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:  29  And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.]

[The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee,] Does any of this sound familiar to you? It should, this pandemic is still among us after a year, and does not seem to be going any where too soon. I fear for the little ones because they are in for great tribulation if the churches do not repent, and start listening to God, [Revelation 2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Deuteronomy 28:13  And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:]

Today’s Prayer: God, You never cease to remind me of just how blessed I am, everything could be falling apart around me, but I truly have Your hand touching me. You never stop loving me, and are always there to give me guidance and correction when I need it. Lord, lead me and guide me, open my ears to hearing Your voice at all times, open my eyes to seeing everything You are trying to show me, open my heart to receive and do it all, not because I have to, but because it brings glory to You and blessings to and through me. Watch over Your people, put Your hedge of protection around them, keep them safe, touch and heal everybody as You see fit. Open the hearts of the unfaithful to repentance, and open the hearts of the ones who are lost and confused to see they can find peace and healing through Your Son. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
