Message: Touch Not The Unclean Thing

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading the chapters for today I kept thinking about this picture that kept showing up in my news feed, it was of a man with facial hair dressed up as a woman, and wearing this gaudy makeup. I really do not care what people wear, but the way the world is flaunting and promoting sinful behavior is not only demeaning to themselves, but bringing much confusion especially to kids. The reason I bring this up is because morality has truly gone out the window, even among Christians immorality has become normal and accepted. And I will say this, if God said that something was an abomination when He gave His Law to Israel that does not mean that He does not feel the same way about it now. Salvation by grace may clean ones soul through their faith in Christ, but it does not clean ones flesh from the consequences of their actions if the do not repent of the sin.

[2 Corinthians 6:14-18  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?  16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.]

Touch not the unclean thing, now, that is interesting to read from the New Testament after we are learning about these things from the Old Testament. It does not matter whether if we are saved by grace and no longer under the Law, there are some things that God just does not want us to do because it not only defiles our bodies, but the very temple that He dwells in. As we continue in the reading of Leviticus, God, flat out tells them that they are not to walk in the ways of the world, but His way.

[Leviticus 18:2-6  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.  3  After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.  4  Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.  5  Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.  6  None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.]

[which if a man do, he shall live in them:] First of all, God’s, commandments are not grievous and even though we are no longer under the Law it does not hurt us to know what He sees as right and wrong. Second, this is common sense stuff anyway, parents, siblings, and next of kin ought to know that whether they are related by natural birth, adoption, or marriage, sexual relations are off limits no matter how old they are. Nevertheless, there are a lot of people who are not wired correctly that think these things are okay, but God sees otherwise, but He is not done, now He addresses other acts that are an abomination to Him.

[Leviticus 18:19-23,26.29  Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.  20  Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her.  21  And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.  22  Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.  23  Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. 26  Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: 29  For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.]

[neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger] Remember, the same rules apply to all, if God’s people are not to be doing these things, we certainly ought not to be hanging around those who do. It not only brings exposure to the things that God does not approve of, it also brings compromise as it drags you into their sin. The reason people lust over those they are not to be lusting over has to do with their walking in their flesh. And let me tell you, this is as evil as you can get, and God will judge them for what they have done, [James 4:1-4  From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?  2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.  3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.  4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.]

Now, God has Moses call all the people together, both Jews and Gentiles (strangers), and tells them point blank that this is how it is going to be if they are going to follow Him. He even had to tell them not to eat any food that was cooked after three days.

[Leviticus 19:2-7  Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.  3  Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.  4  Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.  5  And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.  6  It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.  7  And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.]

[And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable;] So, why was this an abomination? Think about it, they did not have refrigeration back then, and it was hot out there. Naturally, it would become spoiled and then it would make someone sick if they ate it. This may also have a consequence in regards to deliberately disregarding God’s command on this. God, will not accept our leftovers, when we come to Him willingly, He expects us to keep our end of the deal, and not delay either, [Colossians 3:22-24  Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:  23  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  24  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.]

Without mixing the Law with grace, we must accept that God has never changed His view on what He sees as an abomination. While those who are saved and covered under the blood of Christ cannot lose their salvation if they do live these devilish lifestyles, that does not mean that they will not suffer. God has specific rules regarding the way we treat people, notice what He says that has a familiar ring to it.

[Leviticus 19:11-15,18  Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.  12  And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.  13  Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.  14  Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD. 15  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. 18  Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.]

[the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night] In other words, an employer was not to withhold wages due for the work they did that day. Boy, it would be nice if our employers held to this rule. Well, they were given the option for a specific time as we do today with weekly pay, but it was understood that they were not to withhold anyone wages for the day unless it was by their consent. Incidentally, each and every one of these commands was quoted by Jesus at some point, [Matthew 24:45-46  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  46  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.]

I will tell you this from experience, no one is so strong in their walk with Christ that they can walk in the world without Him and not become affected by it or I should say infected by it. Even the Israelites were guilty of some of these sins already, in fact, God, goes on to tell them why they are not to follow the world.

[Leviticus 19:19-22  Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.  20  And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21  And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.  22  And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.]

[neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.] This was actually done in order to show the people that they were not to intermingle with the heathens. We all have to admit that some of the commands that God had given were kind of odd, but as you pay attention to what God is saying you can get an idea of why. Take a look at the following and see if you can get a picture of why God had given them.

[Leviticus 19:26-28,30-34  Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.  27  Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.  28  Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.  30  Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.  31  Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.  32  Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.  33  And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.  34  But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.]

[the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you,] Regardless of who we are related to or what nation we come from God gives all a choice. If we are going to choose Him, then He expects us to behave like one of His people, not the fools of the world. Does He expect us to never sin again? No. What He expects is faithfulness and when we do sin, we need to confess it, not hide it, and definitely not condone it. God, reiterates this.

[Leviticus 20:2-5  Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.  3  And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.  4  And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:  5  Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.]

[that giveth any of his seed unto Molech;] This also includes abortion as well, and this is in regards to people who can care less about life. Molech, is a self god, and people who are quick to kill a life that has never had a chance at life because all they care about is fulfilling the lusts of their flesh. They will answer to God and so will those who perform the abortions. While we are not subject to the Law anymore, we will be accountable for our actions, even if we are saved, and it does not have to be written in the Bible as wrong for it to be wrong, some things are common sense, and committing them are immoral and wicked without even asking God.

[Leviticus 20:10-13,20-21  And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.  11  And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.  12  And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.  13  If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. 20  And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.  21  And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.]

[they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.] Homosexuality, trangenderism, abortion, all of these things bring confusion and are an abomination to God. Any time people attempt to play God they are actually making themselves into a god, and God does not take too kindly to that. He will save the vilest of sinners, but He will not save reprobates, [Romans 1:28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;]

The authority over every soul is God, whether we choose to believe that or not, God, is the lawmaker of every soul since He is our Creator. God’s purpose for giving commands was never designed for the purpose of saving a soul, we are all sinners no matter what generation we come from, they were used to set us apart, to show the world that we are, in fact, different.

[Leviticus 20:24-26  But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.  25  Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.  26  And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.]

[which I have separated from you as unclean.] This is not in regards to consuming certain animals, but in their actions. Do you understand that God has literally severed you from among a world of truly wicked and immoral people? So, what are we as Christians to do? Pray for them and love them as Christ does. They are lost souls too and while most of them will frown upon us even talking to them about Jesus, we still need to make an effort. Jesus, [Luke 5:31-32  And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.  32  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.]

Jesus Christ Revealed/Magnified: [Leviticus 20:26  And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your commands, while I do not always understand them, I do know that they have a purpose, because You have already seen the result of what happens when others have done them first. Lord, I want to stand before not only perfect in Your Son, but holy in Your Son as well, give me Your power, mercy, and grace to discern and understand what is acceptable to You. Give me the heart, desire, and fear to obey, remove any sin that is before me, and let me teach Your truths to all, and never be ashamed to tell the truths or live by them. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
