Study: Seven Abominations, One Saviour

Hello My Friend,

If you ever start to wonder why this entire world has gone completely nuts from a pandemic that does not want to end, to people cosmetically changing their genders, to wars, just take a look at the way they live their lives. A godless society always leads to what God Himself calls an abomination, and I can truly understand what He means the more I learn about all these medicines that are created to make males more feminine and females more masculine. We can sum what God sees as abominable with the seven things that God hates, [These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. – Proverbs 6:16-19]

1. Those who are so arrogant and proud that they think they are God 2. Those who liars, including all false religion. 3. Those who shed innocent blood, including those who kill thousands of babies in the womb 4. A heart that devises wicked imaginations, including those who attempt to play God. 5. Feet that be quick to run mischief, including those who run to the ones who attempt to play God 6. A false witness, including those who slander the ones who respectfully disagree with them. 7. Those who instigate and attempt to cause harm on those who respectfully disagree. So, I am not going on a rampage about abortionists and transcendentalism, but these are two of the acts of what God sees as an abomination.

[Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. – 1 Corinthians 6:9-11]

Yes, despite the abominable acts that are going on all over the world, there is not one soul that God would not save, who puts their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. The Book of I Chronicles contains twenty-nine chapters, the author is Ezra and the purpose of the book was to record the religious history of Judah. Except for the genealogies, the timeline for these events took place approximately 1056 BC to 1015 BC. What we are to learn from the book is that God blesses all who exalt Him. The Chronicle books focuses on the kings of Judah, temple worship, and the prophetic promises of the Messiah, who was to descend through the seed of David, [And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. – 1 Chronicles 17:11]

The beginning of 1 Chronicles gives an account to the lineage of all mankind, beginning with Adam, and then, after the flood. Each and every one of us that were conceived are descendants from one of these three men, Shem, Ham, and Japeth. As we read the names we come to understand how we became such a divided earth between what is known as the sons of man, being those of the world, and the sons of God, being true believers.

[Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth. And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphthorim. – 1 Chronicles 1:4-12]

[Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth] If you are of a European decent, then you are of the lineage of Japheth; examples of this would be Greeks, Italians, Germans, also known as Gentiles. We would be known as the descendants most likely to follow Shem to God. It was Noah himself, who said, [God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. – Genesis 9:27].

Shem’s descendants would actually become what we know as the Hebrews and Islamic’s (Ishmaelites), all stemmed from Abraham. Of course, it would be the Hebrews that God would establish as His people through the covenant that God had made, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). The Philistines, and constant thorn and snare to Israel, and still to this day, are descendants of Ham, actually, his son, Canaan, hence the nation of Canaan, before it was known as Israel. An account is also given of the Ishmaelites.

[The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech. Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, Abram; the same is Abraham. The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael. These are their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael. – 1 Chronicles 1:17,28-33]

[The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.] This is proof that it does not matter what family you are born into, it is our love for God that determines whether or not we become one of His. Ishmael, was raised by Abraham until Isaac was born, he was well aware of God, and so was his mother, Hagar, whom God actually told that He was going to make a great nation out of, just apart from Isaac, being the actual promised son.

[And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. – Genesis 21:12,14-15,17-18]

Ishmael was not a little child when Abraham sent them away, he was thirteen when Isaac was born, so, he was about sixteen at the time. And it is obvious that Hagar had falsely retaught Ishmael to believe that he was the promised son, and behold, we now have the Muslims and Islamic’s. We can wonder why God accepts any of this, but the truth is that He does not, and that is why any who follow this religion are an abomination to God. Jesus Himself said, [He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. – Revelation 21:7-8]

it is very rare that a person raised as a Muslim or Jew, for that matter gets saved, but Jesus never denies anyone who comes to Him, despite what family they came from. Now, an account is also given to the descendants of Esau, who actually had established an earthly kingdom long before Israel had.

[And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel. The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah. And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead. And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead. And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith. – 1 Chronicles 1:34-35,43-46]

[The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.] Notice that Jacob is called Israel at this point, God had given him that name after He actually wrestled with him, [And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. – Genesis 32:24,26-28]

All believers have wrestled with God and prevailed, which is why we too are given new names, in fact, we are of Israel as well, [Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: – Romans 9:6]. You know, when I first started reading these chapters, I actually said to God that I should get done with this devotion rather quickly since it is pretty cut and paste. That was when God told me otherwise and I asked Him to forgive me for that, because I did not once look at past devotions to put this one together. Now, we come to the descendants of David, beginning with Judah.

[These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun, Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him. And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five. The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul. And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all. And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.- 1 Chronicles 2:1-7]

[who transgressed in the thing accursed.] This was referring to the days of Joshua, remember, when Israel walked around the walls of Jericho for seven days, and then walls came crashing down, and the only ones who survived was Rehab and those who were in her house? That was when Zimri, also called Zabdi, took things that were accursed, and seventy men lost their lives as a result when Israel tried to defeat Ai.

[But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water. And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan! – Joshua 7:1,5-7]

I tell you what, God does not do well with pity, in fact, those, “Whoa is me, why have you done this, God!” cries do not work on Him at all, [And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. – Joshua 7:10-11]

I shamefully admit that I too have said those, “Whoa is me, why have you done this, God!” pity cries out to God, only for Him to tell me to get up as well. And I tell you what, you straighten up real quick when you hear those words because He flat out tells you what it is all about, [If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. – Genesis 4:7]

So many people ask me how I know that God has spoke directly to me. Well, the Holy Spirit is one powerful voice, and if we actually did listen and stop questioning why, we would have less of those pity cries. Just yesterday, I left the house as my mom came out to take the garbage out to the curb, I did not want to be late for work so I left her there only to have this voice keep telling me to go back and help. Well, me thinking that by the time I get back to the house she would have done it, kept going. When I got home after work, ten hours later, she was sitting on the steps. She had gotten locked out of the house with no phone, and no where else to go. That was another thing I asked God to forgive me for, so, when God speaks to you, listen to Him. And now, we come to the account of Boaz, who married Ruth, who turns out was David’s great-grandmother.

[And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz, And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse, And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third, Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, Ozem the sixth, David the seventh: Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three. – 1 Chronicles 2:11-16]

[Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.] Here are three names that we learned of a couple of days ago, and interestingly, were David’s cousins. Joab would actually turn his back on David when his son Absalom would try to take the kingdom from him. In this whole big gigantic world, there is only one person that we can trust, and that is Jesus Christ. Why? Each and every one of us are all capable of becoming so angry at something that someone did, that we not only come to despise them, we would cause that discord among brethren that started our message. Now, we can keep ourselves from letting things get to us so that we do not become one of those angry and bitter people that we literally have deal with all the time. We can overcome anyone by having some compassion on them. Yes, I said compassion, these people are so lost that they end up latching onto those who are an abomination, and this is exactly why God has not given up on all of them either. There are some in the midst of all this abomination, that will come to Christ, and we can only find them by showing some compassion.

[As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.- John 15:9-13]

Today’s Prayer: God, It is no surprise that the things You see as an abomination are the very things that lead to a life or immorality and shame. None of us are without sin, and we are a guilty of having committed one of these trespasses a time or two, even after we accepted Christ as our Saviour. It is only by Your mercies that we are not consumed, and yet our souls are so valuable to You that You send Your Son to die to save them. Thank You, for doing what we could never do on our own, it does not matter what we have done, You give every soul the opportunity to learn of Your Son, and accept Him too. We whom have accepted Christ as our Saviour, have been washed in His blood, and You no longer see our sin, in fact, it has been wiped clean. Thank You! Lord, lead us and guide us, and give us Your mercy and grace, and teach us to love as You love so that we can lead some lost souls to Your Son. I pray this in Your name, Jesus, Amen.
