Message: Bought And Paid For

Hello My Friend,

As born again Christians, when you see all the crazy catastrophic events taking place today, from natural disasters to man made, you cannot help, but think that Christ will be here very soon. I believe that these events are none other than judgments from God, and we as a nation of God are to be warning those in the world of Christ returning. Oh, and do not blame God or condemn Him for the judgments, these were brought on all by themselves, and that goes for the millions of Christians living a double life. “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.” – I Peter 4:16-19.

The Israelites were free, for the first time in over four hundred years they were headed for the promised land, they had no idea how they would get there, but they had the best guide of all, God. God instructs Israel to do two things before they headed on their journey, sanctify all the first born, and have a yearly memorial to remember the very day that they were set free.

Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine. And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. This day came ye out in the month Abib. And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD. Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters. And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.” – Exodus 13:2-9.

Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt,” We are to never forget the day that the Lord bought and paid for our soul. I will admit that I do not remember the exact day that I had gotten saved (I know I was on the sofa and asked Jesus to come into my heart), but do remember the day God reminded me that I was saved, and that was July 10, 2004, shortly after I dedicated my life to serving Him, and being a first born this always reminds me that I was set apart for God from the start. The Lord’s Supper is a great reminder of what Christ as done for us, and that we are not to forget that we belong to Him. “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” – I Corinthians 11:23-26.

Let me tell you, when you get saved, the devil is going to be on you like the plague, but something else will happen that you are not aware of, God is going to test your faith and trust in Him. No, He is not trying you to see if you really are saved, He knows that the second we believe Christ is our only Saviour, but He is going to test is to see if we are going to trust Him by faith when we are challenged. God is about to test Israel’s fate, He could have led them down a path that was quick and easy to the promised land, instead He took them down a longer path. And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.” – Exodus 13:17-18.

Lest peradventure the people repent” God knew that if He sent them through the short path that as soon as they saw danger they would retreat and head back to Egypt. So, He made sure to lead them along the longer path, one that only their faith and trust in Him would save them.

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so. And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.” – Exodus 14:2-8.

and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh,” There is a reason why the world fears the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ more than any other, HE IS GOD. One way or another God will prove to the world that He and His Son are one in the same, and that He is Judge of all. When I first began reading these chapters I will admit that I wanted to skip over the song, of course, the Holy Spirit told me otherwise, and reminded me of something, He I was purchased, just like Israel.

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation. Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased. Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established. The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.” – Exodus 15:1-,13,16-18

which thou hast purchased. We were bought with a price, that price is the blood of Christ, He purchased our souls with His blood, but He is not going to redeem everyone, only those who receive Him. Just like God set Israel free from Egypt, Jesus sets us free with His blood, and while receiving Christ as our Saviour comes with lots of faith, trust, and serving Him, it always comes with the greatest reward, eternal life wit Him. Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.” – I Corinthians 7:21-24.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:” – Exodus 14:19. Jesus, the Angel of God, goes before and behind us, leading us through the straight and narrow path that leads to everlasting life.

Today’s Prayer: God, We do not have to fear the present nor the future when we place our complete faith and trust in You. Daily we make our plans but we ought know that You have the final say in where we should go.  Help us to find comfort in You during the circumstances of life that challenge us, knowing all the while, You will guide us with all we need in every challenge that You give us. I will not fear what comes, I will stand strong in my faith, serving Your faithfully until the day You come to get me. In Jesus’ name. Amen

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
