Message: Trying To Figure Out God’s Purpose

Hello My Friend,

bow-kneeAs we grow and mature in our walk with Christ we become wiser on how to handle situations through the Word of God as He reveals His purpose for our lives. God does not reveal everything to us all at once or we would go into overload, but a little at a time so we stay with Him every day. While we will never fully understand everything God shows us, He knows what He is doing, and there is a purpose for everything. I know it can be hard to figure out God’s purpose when we are being afflicted, but the key to having purpose without knowing His purpose is hope. “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” – Romans 8:24-26.

Purpose, To intend; to design; to resolve; to determine to be accomplished. God has a purpose for everything we go through, the good, bad, and even ugly things in our lives. I watched a woman tell her horrific story of how God kept her alive in a Japanese prison camp only to wonder if I would have been as strong as her. I probably would have been like Job, just take me now and let me be in peace, but God does have a purpose for everything He allows in our lives. As Job laid there while one friend after another condemned him, his only question was, “Where is God?” Little did he realize that God was right there the whole time listening to all of them. As Elihu was speaking, ironically about the weather, a storm was brewing right before their eyes. A tornado forms and out of it comes the voice of God.

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” – Job 38:1-7.

Gird up now thy loins like a man;” Get ready for battle. God wants Job to be ready for battle and He wants a direct answer to His questions. Of course, God knew that there was no way that Job could answer any of these questions. It’s ridiculous what all these scientists come up with to try and figure out how God made the earth and everything in between. God will never reveal such information because He knows they will distort it even more than they already have. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” – Romans 1:22-25.

We cannot possibly know everything God has done or the reason why He places unnecessary affliction in our lives, we just have to trust and have faith in Him to get us through them. God continues asking Job more questions, knowing that he could not possibly answer any of them. “Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them. She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear; Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.” – Job 39:10-17.

Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow?” God shows Job what little he knew about the untamed creatures that run wild in the world. The unicorn, also known as the rhino, a strong creature, able to throw his weight around. The peacock, when he struts, shows his beautiful feathers as if he needs no one. The ostrich, buries her egg in the ground and leaves it there, and often forgets where it is. All of these creatures are an example of God’s design and purpose for everything He creates. When we realize God’s wonderful works of nature, and how every one of them are fitted for and inclined to the services for which they were designed, we see how unfit we are to question God about the way He shows us our purpose. The only way to find God’s purpose is place it all in His hands.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:26-28.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today, Jesus is revealed through the cornerstone (38:6). Jesus is the cornerstone, the sure foundation to knowing God’s purpose. “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” – Ephesians 2:19,20.

Today’s Prayer: God, No matter how much I believe that my circumstances are only temporary and that You will take care of me through them I still let them control me sometimes. I want to take control of my circumstances, but giving them all over to You. I know that You are the only one who can help me endure and give me real purpose. As I do my part, trusting You and having faith and hope in You, I know I will figure out Your purose for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
