Message: He Restores My Soul

Hello My Friend,

Wrapped up, way down deep in our body is something that is the center of our being, and that is our soul, our soul feels, it hurts, it cries, and it gasps for breath when it is weary, but it also laughs, is joyful, and is lively when it is strong. We absolutely cannot survive this life or the next without a living soul, and thanks the Jesus He gives life to our soul, first when we receive Him as our Saviour, and second when He restores it. “A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” – Psalm 23:1-3.

It is no surprise that life can take a toll on our soul, it grows weary when we work so hard to make something good out of what we have been handed, only to have it go in the opposite direction. When we find Christ, we not only find salvation for our soul, we also find our purpose as He not only fills our soul with His life, He fills us with His goodness, but we can be saved and still find no joy in our soul. How? When we try to do it all on our own. It is not enough just to get saved to see this life blessed, we must abide with Him at all times.

A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.” – Psalm 15.

who shall abide in thy tabernacle?” As long as we abide with Christ, meaning stick close to Him like glue, and live as He lived while He walked the earth we will be blessed. “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.” – II Thessalonians 3:3-4.

Salvation is in no way about our works, but our works after we are saved will bless us tremendously. “Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.” – Psalm 22:23-28.

The meek shall eat and be satisfied:” The meek, those who are humble, not proud to come to Christ for help, who submit to the will of God, they are those who will be satisfied in what life has to offer them. Oh, of course, we cannot always be happy all the time, but He will give is the strength to keep going. Jesus does not want us to try to do everything on our own, He wants us to come to Him, and He will give rest to our soul. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29.

An amazing transformation happens as we abide with Christ, people and things that were once essential in our lives disappear and are replaced by people or things that please God. Do not be offended or surprised to see a dear friend turn on you, many will flee as you get closer to Christ, but keep on praising Him and do not worry about them because He will help you get through the mocking and persecution you are going to face. God abundantly blesses those who trust in His salvation, but keep in mind, anyone who has been abusing God’s good mercies and graces with no intention of changing will suffer for it in this life.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death. But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses. Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah: To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice. Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds. O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.” – Psalm 68:19-21,31-35.

But God shall wound” Jesus loves us way too much to see us living our lives as though He never found us. Think about it, He suffered a great deal of persecution Himself, not to mention the suffering He went through so that our soul does not end up in hell, of course, we are going to suffer if we know Him and are living as though we do not or are careless with what we are doing. “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.” – Hebrews 6:4-6,9.

Jesus Christ Magnified: Today, Jesus is revealed through David as he spoke of His dying on the cross (Ps 22). Jesus was despised, rejected, and had His hands and feet pierced to give life to the believing soul. “That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 5:21.

Today’s Prayer: God, Life gets weary sometimes, so weary that it takes a toll on my soul, I feel it suffocating as I try to live my life pleasing You and everyone else around me. You are the only one who can restore my soul, who can bring it back to life, to feel passion and compassion in all that I do, to get through every obstacle I am faced with, and to keep me from lagging behind You in the first place. Lord, lead me and guide me, bring back the joy of my salvation, fill me with Your love, joy, mercies and grace, and give rest to my weary soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
