Message: God’s Word Stands

Hello My Friend,

The Bible; God’s Word; The Word; The Word of God; The Holy Scriptures; The Law; These are all references to describe passages of the very words of God. Some of the words were spoken about specific acts of God, some of them of men and women and their relationship with God, some of them were spoken by scribes, prophets, seers, disciples, priests, apostles, directed by God, and some of the words were spoken by God Himself. All of the words were inspired, and written by the hand of God upon them. Every word written is true, every prophecy written that has come to pass was fulfilled just as it is written. Likewise, will every prophecy yet to come will be fulfilled just as it is written. Why? It is very important that everything be accurate because if one word were not true, then rest of His Word would be questionable, and if His Word is questionable, so will the Gospel. And if the Gospel is questionable, then Christ has died in vain, and we are all in big trouble.

[I Corinthians 15:12-15,19-20  Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?  13  But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:  14  And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  15  Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 19  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.  20  But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.]

[and become the firstfruits of them that slept.] Who are the firstfruits? These are the ones who died before having seen Christ in the flesh. You see, faith was no different today than it was in the days before His passion, they still needed to believe that Christ was coming to save them. They still needed salvation, and their good works were certainly not going to save them. The Law was written to be our guide so that we do not die and end up in hell through ignorance. Do you think that people did not end up in hell through ignorance before Christ? II Samuel also gives an account to David’s first attempt to have the Ark of the Covenant brought to Jerusalem, and what happened when they did not follow the Law of Moses, which they were unaware of.

[II Samuel 6:5-12  And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.  6  And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.  7  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.  8  And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.  9  And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?  10  So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.  11  And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.  12  And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.]

[because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah:] Breach meaning, he violated the law in which only a Levite was able to touch the Ark. This was the Law, and it must be fulfilled, God is a just God and He bends the rules for no one, even if they did not know the Law. [into the city of David with gladness.] Naturally, whenever we hear of the blessings that God brings to others, it encourages us as well to keep serving God. It is heartbreaking to know that we have loved ones in hell because they trusted their religion or were ignorant to the Word of God, but we must not let it stop us from telling those who are still alive. Think of the Ark as the Spirit of God, you can try to touch Him, but in all that filth of sin that covers you you will be struck down. It is Christ who cleanses us so that we can stand before God and live. Once David found out that he needed a sanctified priest, and sanctified Levites to carry the Ark, they were able to move it.

[II Samuel 6:16-17,20-23  And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.  17  And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.  20  Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!  21  And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.  22  And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.  23  Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.]

[and she despised him in her heart.] Remember, Michal was David’s first wife, she was taken from him when Saul had his melt down and given her to another man, he retrieved her when he became king of Israel, and this had been years later, [I Samuel 25:44]. [therefore will I play before the LORD.] We can be silly, we can sing and dance, we can rejoice with God, we just have to be tactful about it. It is God who tells us the right and wrong way to do things. Do you remember when we read about Israel getting Aaron to make a god for them and came up with the golden calf? They were drinking, dancing naked, and doing other provocative things, to which God was not very pleased with at all. Do you see the difference? [had no child unto the day of her death.] This means that God had made her barren afterward as she did have a son with David, her name is recognized in II Samuel 3:5, as being Eglah, and Ithream her son. If we are going to judge someone because they behave a little differently, make sure it is something that matters to God, because, believe it or not, God will take our blessings away from us if we are falsely accusing someone, [John 7:24].

David was by far a perfect man, but he did have one thing going for him, He had the favor of God. Why? He was faithful to God. No, he did not always consult him, he did get discouraged sometimes, and he did sin as we all do, but he loved God and never hesitated to tell Him that. When David went through all the trouble to get the Ark closer to him, he did not stop there, he wanted to build a house for God. However, God did not want him to build a house for Him, but did want him to know that He had great plans for him and his family.

[II Samuel 7:2,4-6,10-15   That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.  4  And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,  5  Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?  6  Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. 10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,  11  And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.  12  And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.  13  He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.  14  I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:  15  But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.]

[that they may dwell in a place of their own,] There is a kingdom that every saved, born again Christian will dwell in, a place of our very own, it will never be moved and we will never see evil ever again, and that is the Kingdom of God, [Luke 13:29-30]

[and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.] While some of this is in reference to Solomon, who would build the first temple, most of this has to do with Christ, who would come in the flesh through David’s seed, and establish His throne in the Kingdom of God forever, [Luke 1:32-33]

[But my mercy shall not depart away from him] Solomon was not the godliest king, in fact, he had so many wives that they turned him away from God, and yet, God promised to keep His covenant with David, and He did. David’s house and kingdom has long since came to an end after God judged Judah and they were sent into captivity to Babylon for seventy years. However, the throne in which Christ will reign can never be removed as God promised it would not. True believers of this are sinners, for which they must expect that our Father would correct us for, but His mercy will never depart from us because of His promise to give eternal life to all who receive Him, [Titus 3:5-7]

Why was God forever merciful in establishing David’s seed while He was not with Saul? God looks on the heart, He knew both their hearts, and while David was not sinless, he was faithful to God. As Christians, we are going to mess up over and over again until God brings us home, but He knows our true heart. David, knew that this had more to do with his successor, Solomon, and was quite overwhelmed by all this. He began to talk to God.

[II Samuel 7:18-21,25,28-29  Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?  19  And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?  20  And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.  21  For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.  25  And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.  28  And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:  29  Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.]

[Who am I, O Lord GOD?] That should be the reaction by every one of us when God tells us that He will never leave nor forsake us, and give us His kingdom to live in forever. God exalts the humble believer, not the proud, [Matthew 23:12] David was by far a perfect man, but he did have one thing going for him, He had the favor of God. Why? He believed every word and was faithful to God. No, he did not always consult him, he did get discouraged sometimes, and he did sin as we all do, but he loved God and never hesitated to tell Him that. This is God’s Word and promise to all who believe in and receive His Son. No one can add to or remove one word that has been written in His Word, many have attempted over the years to overthrow it, but His Word stands as it is and everything will come to pass just as it is written. And to those who created these false versions, well, they will answer to God, [Revelation 22:18-20  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.]

Today’s Prayer: God, In any given day we should be able to stop, look at the life we have now and see how far we have come since we came to know Your Son as our Saviour. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, You love me unconditionally, no matter how many times I mess up. It is not so easy to see the blessings when we are facing challenges or are ignorant to Your Word, but with a little prayer and studying of Your Word, we can endure them. Lord, Lead me and guide me, ground me in Your Word, and never let me depart from it, give me wisdom, understanding, and direcrion. Your grace is sufficient, You who will see me through and bless me for enduring every challenge all by my faith and trust in You. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
