Message: Brute Beasts
Hello My Friend,
Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday my Jesus, Happy Birthday to You! And Merry Christmas to all. Every year, the whole month of December, if you are in a Bible believing church, the Scriptures are read, the amazing story is told of the day our Lord and Saviour was born, some will even tell you why He was born, to die for us. The story of Jesus’ birth and death was not something that God decided on a whim, it was planned even before sin entered the world. God does not decide anything on a whim, it has all be thought out, planned out, and even drawn out, and we are given it in His Word. The world discredits the Bible as true, and let me tell you, people have changed it in an attempt to make God an image they want Him to be, but what they fail to comprehend is that His Word is preserved, the prophecies fulfilled prove that, and we would be wise to remind ourselves that the Bible was not written by man, rather men led by God Himself. “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” – II Peter 1:19-21.
“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:” You can try it all you want, but you cannot predict the future, God does that, and He did that through man. Brute; Senseless; Irrational. Bestial. Rough. Uncivilized. Insensible. A beast. Any animal destitute of reason. A brutal person. A savage in heart or manners. A low bred and, unfeeling man. If you were to apply the meaning to this word to our world today, you would see that a huge majority are brute beasts. I mean, what sensible person would pour boiling water on a toddler as discipline? You know, Jesus, who has always been by the way, was born, died a sinless death, but also arose, and very few religions recognize that. II Peter was written by Peter to Christian exiles, around 66AD, the purpose of the letter was to warn them of the apostasy and false teaching in the Church. What we are to learn is that the believer must be pure, loyal in the days of corruption and apostasy, and ready for the return of Christ. Jesus is returning, and if we are not ready, including telling others so they could tell others, we will not be able to handle the shock. We need to be living our lives in a way that brings people to Christ, and this is what Peter was stresses in his letter.
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.” – II Peter 2:1-4,8-9,12.
“But he that lacketh these things is blind,” Why do millions of saved, born again Christians living in sin? They are not in His Holy Word, and are blind to the truth. Do you think by taking the words, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind:” out of the Scriptures changes the fact that God says it is an abomination? Anyone can create a version of God’s Word to please the lusts of the flesh, and make it look like they are justified in their actions, but that does not change who God is, what He believes, and what He expects from us. And let me tell you, we are definitely in the end times, and yes, that is said every generation, but this world is truly becoming more corrupt by the second, Peter warns us of this, and there will be hell to pay for hiding the truth.
“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.” – II Peter 2:4-5,9,12-14,19-20.
“as natural brute beasts,” Any of this sound familiar? It is exactly what, we as a nation, many nations are seeing right now, brute beasts speaking evil of things they do not understand; rioting in the daytime; deceiving; cunning; unstable; cursed children; corrupt politicians promising freedom. And this is within the church also. While we are not the judge, it certainly is not in our best interest to promote sin, we must understand that the world, and quite frankly, half the saved world, is entangled in some kind of sin, they know it is against God’s Word, but continue in their sin, justifying their actions by their salvation. Case in point, two saved homosexual men getting married so they do not commit fornication, and yet ignore the fact that homosexual acts are sin to begin with. While people who live in sin do not lose their salvation, they do suffer greatly in their sin while they are here unless they repent. And now we come to Jude, which is almost identical to what Peter is saying.
“But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” – Jude 1:10-11,16,19-21.
“and perished in the gainsaying of Core.” Core; The heart or inner part of a thing. The heart must have the love of God in it to believe in Jesus, the heart must believe every Word is true, the heart must believe every word is from God, and if it does not then there are going to be problems until it does. Jude was written by Jude (brother of James and earthly brother of Jesus by Mary and Joseph), in 66AD also, to those of the common salvation. The purpose of the letter was to remind them also of the judgment coming and false teachers. What we are to learn from it is that we must always be on alert on those who divert believers from the truth of God’s Word.
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” – Jude 1:3-7.
“earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Contend; Fight. We are in a fight here, a fight for our faith in Jesus Christ, and we must not stop defending the cross until the day God takes us home or Jesus returns. Did you ever wonder how a person can be so on fire for God then suddenly do a complete u-turn? They were not living in the Word of God to begin with, and or they had gotten away with it. Back to Peter, he reminds us that we need to be mindful of what we are doing because Jesus is returning.
“That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” – II Peter 3:2-10,13.
“being overflowed with water, perished:” This is of course, referring to the flood. Whenever I read the story of Noah I always imagine what it would have looked like from the heavens (space) to see the entire world covered in water. God destroyed and replenished the earth once, but the day will come when the earth will be destroyed all together, fire coming down from the heavens, and not only this earth, but heavens of it will be destroyed as well, that means the planets and everything else we can see in this galaxy. However, He is giving all a chance to repent before that happens, meaning turn away from their dead works, or admit they are sinners, and receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. No one can escape this judgment unless they are saved. “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” – Revelation 20:14-15.
Jesus Christ Magnified: “For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – II Peter 1:8.
Today’s Prayer: Jesus, As we celebrate Your birth today, let us not forget the reason You came here to begin with, to die so that we may live. The world loves to discredit Your testimony, even to the point that they ignore the fact that You arose also, and give life to all who believe in You. Thank You for the great sacrifice You made in giving Your life to save us, You did not have to, but you did, and all because You love us too much to see us end up in hell with the devil. Lord, I want You in my life in all that I do, walk with me, give me the strength that only You can give me to live in obedience to Your Word, not because I have to, I want to be Your light. Put Your hedge of protection around me, keep the devil, and everyone else he uses from corrupting me, and let me not be led to stray away from Your truths. Through Your power, I can do all things. Amen! And In Your name, Jesus, Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
