Message: Tribe of God

Hello My Friend,

There is something incredible that happens when we accept Christ as our Saviour, and I believe it is something that we really do not fully comprehend, and that is the fact that we go from being a mere creation of God to one of His children. We all descend from a family, that means, we are a tribe or a descendant of our father. Just think about that, when God becomes our Father, we are apart of His tribe. [Romans 8:14-17  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.]

The second a person believes in and receives Jesus Christ as their Saviour them they are born again, meaning the Spirit of God enters the soul, they instantly become alive with the Spirit of God through their faith alone, thus becoming one of God’s tribe. The Ammonites, these were of the tribe of Lot, Abraham’s nephew, whom were the result of incest. God had given the country of Gilead to the tribes of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad, but after the Northern Kingdom of Israel was invaded by the Assyrians, the Ammonites had taken it. Now, God is sending judgment upon them.

[Jeremiah 49:1-2,5-6  Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?  2  Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD. 5  Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.  6  And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.]

[I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon,] God did not use the children of Israel to show the world who He is, and just leave the rest of us to die and end up in hell. He used them to show the world that HE is the one and only living God, and their Creator, and for the rest of the world to follow by their example. Unfortunately, their example is not a very good one, all they did was turn to false gods. However, a few did believe, and did lead the rest of the world by example. Once a person believes in God, He is the one who opens their heart to come to the knowledge of His Son. It does not matter what earthly family God has descended us from, we become joint heirs with Christ, and of the children of God through our faith in Him alone, [Galatians 4:6-7  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.]

That is right, before Christ came, no one was a son or daughter of God, they were His servants. Why did God do it this way? Well, God sent Jesus through a woman, whom was conceived of the Holy Spirit, God Himself. That means, she was untouched by man and that God is His Father. The second we get saved, we are born again, meaning we receive the Spirit of God into our soul, it is untouched by man, therefore, God becomes our Father.

Now, the Edomites; these were of the children of Esau, Jacob’s (Israel) twin brother, whom Jacob deceived to get his birthright, and the blessings that he would have inherited. For years they despised Israel and mocked them when they saw the judgment from God, they too will be judged.

[Jeremiah 49:7-8,14-18  Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?  8  Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him. 14  I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.  15  For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.  16  Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.  17  Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.  18  As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.]

[Also Edom shall be a desolation:] God actually despised Esau because Esau despised his birthright, literally sold it for a bowl of soup. Think about it, when life has that little meaning to it, it offends God. He is our Creator, He took great care to create us by His design, He did not make any mistakes, He made us how He wants us to be, and if we are going to despise our birthright, then God will despise us as well, [Romans 9:13-16  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.  14  What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.  15  For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.  16  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.]

Now, Babylon has been glorying in the fact that God used them to fulfill the judgment upon Israel, especially since they could care less about God. God may use heathens to get His people to repent, including them, but when He has fulfilled His purpose for them, they too will be judged. God does have a message for His sheep.

[Jeremiah 50:17-20  Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.  18  Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.  19  And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.  20  In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.]

[for I will pardon them whom I reserve.] This is proof that whether a Jew or Gentile, we all have the opportunity to know of and come to Christ. So, it does not matter if we are born of someone from royal blood or a servants blood, all whom accept Christ as their Saviour are joined together by His blood, we are one of the reserved, pardoned of our sin, and made one of the tribe of God, [Ephesians 2:12-13,19  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 19  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;] Amen!

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for making me one of Your tribe when I put my faith and trust in Your Son as my Saviour. I am not one of Yours because of the family You sent me here to, I am Your because I asked Your Son to save me by my faith in Him, and the You gave life to my soul by placing Your Spirit in it. We truly are like sheep, prone to wander and get into trouble if we do not stay close to You. Lord, lead me and guide me, give me Your mercy, grace, forgiveness, help me become a reflection of Your Son so that others can find Him and become theirs as well. I love You, Lord and ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
