Message: What Have I To Do With Thee?

Hello My Friend,

Many people believe in the existence of Christ, but do they actually believe that He is the Son of God, and God Himself? Most religions paint Him as a prophet or some mere preacher man who was martyred for His faith, and sadly, that He is still dead. People want to see a miracle before they fully believe in Christ, but I tell you what, all miracles come from God, they happen every day, religion is too blind to see them because they really do not seek Christ for who He is, rather just to be fed. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.” – John 6:26-27.

When Jesus walked the earth, He had every step planned, He knew exactly when He would be baptized by John, begin His ministry, and when the time would come for Him to be crucified, buried, and resurrect. Jesus, His disciples, were invited to a wedding in Cana, his mother Mary as well as his earthly half brothers were there also. Mary, knowing who her son is, His power, yet having never seen Him do one thing to prove it, seeing that they have no wine at the feast, urges Jesus to make them some wine. Jesus, kind of upset with her, asks her a question.

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.” – John 2:3-12.

what have I to do with thee?” Jesus, knowing that perhaps she wanted Him to do this just show off her Son a little bit, is asking everyone who knows of His existence the same question. Do we need to see a miracle in order to fully believe in Him? No, we do not. Believing in Christ is not about seeing to believe He is about believing to see. “after the manner of the purifying of the Jews,” Firkin; a unit of measure, and also the size of a particular kind of barrel used for making liquor.. Notice that these were barrels intended for purifying the Jews or washing themselves. The Jews, by ceremonial and traditional law washed themselves often, they would not even eat unless they were washed up (Mark 7:3). “and his disciples believed on him.” Many believed in Him right away, His mother, brothers, and disciples followed Him to the next town. Nevertheless, Jesus knew all the hearts of those who followed Him, and what they had to do with Him. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” – John 2:23-25.

But Jesus did not commit himself unto them,” You see, the fact is. every single birth, healing, cure, successful surgery, escape from death, is all the power of God, but very few get saved because He knows their heart, and that they really want nothing more to do with Him. It is really quite sad, God is all around them, He does so much to get them to open their hard hearts to see and accept His Son, and yet they reject Him until their death, and by then it is too late. Now, the Pharisees wanted nothing to do with Jesus, in fact, they wanted to prove to all these fools believing in Him that He was deceiving them. One man, Nicodemus, started questioning his own faith, and he went to Jesus in the night

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” – John 3:1-7,9-10,12.

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not,” Religion and the government is great at telling people what to believe, how to live, and who to believe, but fails to recognize that the miracles they see in front of them are of God. This goes beyond the saying of seeing is believing, this is plain disbelief in what is right in front of their eyes. These people witnessed the miracles that Jesus performed the entire time He was here in the flesh, and yet they had nothing to do with Him. People are the same way today, Jesus or not, they are blind to the truth, only want to live in their lies, and those who do actually have some knowledge of Jesus have nothing to do with Him. The news of Jesus performing all these miracles got around, many found Him, believed, and were baptized. John the Baptist happened to be in the same area, this left a lot of people wondering whether or not Jesus was doing the same thing as John the Baptist.

After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. For John was not yet cast into prison. Then there arose a question between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purifying. And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” – John 3:22-28,33-36.

He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.” John knew that Jesus came from heaven as the Son of God, while knowing that he himself was a sinful, mortal man, could never save them. The words of Jesus were the true words of God, sealed by the fullness of the Godhead power within Him. Everlasting life was only found in Him, and those who do not believe in the Son will not see life after death. Jesus proved several times that this message was for both Jews and Gentiles, but the most notable is the Samaritan woman, we do not even know her name, but we know he faith. In fact, Jesus insisted as they that they pass through Samaria on their way to Galilee.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” – John 4:1,7,9-11,13-14,25-26,28-29.

The woman then left her waterpot,” This is the best illustration of how a believer receives Christ as their Saviour and then goes to tell the world as He commissions all saved, born again Christians to do. So many people honor and worship God, even give praise to Jesus, but they have nothing to do with Jesus. The truth is this, they have no clue who they are worshiping because it is not Almighty God they are worshiping. If we want God to have anything to do with us then we have to believe in His Son, that His Son is the Messiah, and that He is the only way to Him. “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” – I John 5:6-10.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for the gift of my salvation, I know that it is not by my own works that I am saved from condemnation, but by the finished work of Your spotless Son, who died, was buried, and arose from the grave three days later who not only saves me from an eternity in hell, He assures me that I have everlasting life through my faith alone in Him. I know it can be hard at times to see You when I am overwhelmed with life. Lord, lead me and guide me, walk with me and teach me how to live the life that Jesus walked, and to be a testimony of His life in me. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
