Message: Greater Is He That Is In You

Hello My Friend,

When I woke up this morning, every thought I had was negative about people, this one does not like me, this one accuses me, this one is playing games with me, this one is conceited. Let me tell you, we spend so much precious time trying to be accepted by the negative people in our lives that we become negative ourselves. The truth is, people find fault in people when they are feeling negative about themselves. How we overcome that is first, realizing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, second, realizing that we are a child of God, and third, realizing we are not here to become who people want us to be, but who our Father wants us to be. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” – I John 4:4-6.

because greater is he that is in you,” Do you understand that, if you are saved, Christ lives in you? The fact that He lives in you means that you have overcome the greatest battle you will ever face in your lifetime, death. The Book of I John was written in 90AD, by John (the same John who wrote John, and Revelation) to Christians who were falling into satanic deception which was breaking their fellowship with God. The purpose of the letter was to remind believers how they have eternal life, and that obedience to God is proof of that. “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – I John 1:1-4,8-10.

and his word is not in us.” We must admit that we are sinners, as much as we try to keep sin out of our lives it just comes naturally to us. Saved or not, if we walk through life thinking that we do not sin, then God’s Word is not in us. And let me tell you, if you are living your life as best you can, by the grace of God, to keep sin out of your life, you will have to deal with negative people in your life. That negativity people have toward us really has nothing to do with us, it is about them, and the fact that they carry around this bitterness in their hearts, and it is often due to hidden, unknown, or unrepentant sin. And by the way, bitterness is a sin. Salvation does not keep us from sin, and we cannot blame human nature for living in sin. Salvation does teach us to sin less by allowing Christ to live in and through our lives. How do we do that? Follow His commands.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” – I John 2:1-5,24-25.

we have an advocate with the Father,” We are to never take our salvation for granted, or use it as a cloak to live in sin. God will not be mocked, and if we do this then we are in fact, mocking God. “in him verily is the love of God perfected:” You see, the more we walk with Christ the less we want to sin because greater is He that is in you. The power that Christ has in us really does keep us from sin because we no longer desire to do those things. “And he is the propitiation for our sins:” Propitiation; the atonement or atoning sacrifice offered to God to assuage his wrath and render Him favorable to sinners. Because greater is He that is in you, Jesus offered His sinless, spotless body to be given in our place so that we not only reconcile with God, we find His favor as well. You see, sin makes us enemies with God, even if we are saved, He will not walk with us as He does His faithful. Of course, He forgives us each and everytime we sincerely confess our sin in repentance, but if we want true fellowship with Him, and if we really want Him in our lives we will not take advantage of His good graces. John explains this by reminding us that while we are sinners we can stand before God sinless through His Son.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” – I John 3:1-8.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:” We have to think about this on the level of our flesh, if we commit one sin under the Law of Moses, we are guilty of breaking each and every command. However, Jesus, who knew no sin gave His life to save us from our sins. “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him:” This does not mean we never commit sin again after we are saved, but it does mean that we will not lose our salvation I we do. We are not sinless, and we do still sin, but if we remain living a sinful life after we are saved then we are succumbing to the devil, and not allowing Christ to live in us after our salvation. “He that committeth sin is of the devil;” Okay, here is the thing, while the devil cannot take a saved soul, he can control the flesh of a saved soul. Because greater is He that is in you in that Jesus will never let a faithful Christian fall over the edge of sin. Those who do fall are one of two things, they never got saved, or they have been living in sin the entire time they got saved. “And this is his commandment,” What is the commandment? “That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ,” If you do not believe and accept Christ as your Saviour than you wasting your time, God will not hear you or acknowledge you as one of His.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” – I John 5:3-7,10-11.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:” We have the proof right inside of us, the Holy Spirit, which is why the second you doubt yourself, He is right there to remind you of your joy. Again, the devil robs us of our joy of our salvation, and anything else from Jesus that brings us joy. The Book of II John was written by John in 90AD also, to the lady elect. John cautions believers to be faithful to the sound doctrine of Christ and warns them against apostasy. What we are to learn from the letter is that we are not to fellowship with those who place doubt in our minds and rob us of the sound doctrine of the Gospel. “And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” – II John 1:5-8.

that we lose not those things which we have wrought,” Do not let go of what you have been taught. We are saved by grace through our faith the second we believe in the immaculate birth, sinless death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and receive Him as our Saviour. That should bring great joy to us, and if we are doing something or listening to someone who is making us doubt that then, we need to repent of that. The Book of III John was written to a man named Gaius, also in 90 AD. The purpose of the letter was to stop some people who were causing trouble in the church. What we are to learn from the book is that God wants His children to walk in His truths. “The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” – III John 1:1-4.

the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.” Gaius means Christian, so, this is addressed to all faithful Christians. “even as thy soul prospereth.” Because greater is He that is in you, our soul is saved, meaning it is sinless and righteous before God, and if we want God’s blessings it is important that we life a godly life. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” Do you see who’s talking here? It is not John, it is God, and He finds no greater joy than to see His children walking in His Word. Because greater is He that is in you He has the power to lead us away from any sin. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” – I John 1:7.

Today’s Prayer: Jesus, The sacrifice You made for us is still something true believers cannot comprehend, to give Your life for us and even want fellowship with us after all we have done is truly amazing. Lord, I want to walk in Your Light, give me Your power and the strength that only You can give me to be able to live the joyful life that You would have me live as I let Your Light shine through me. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
