Message: I Was Lost

Hello My Friend,

My car, and I believe this car is a blessing from God with all the traveling I do, is equipped with GPS. Have you ever gotten lost? It is not something we enjoy, in fact, it is quite scary, especially of we find ourselves entering into unfamiliar territory. When we actually do find our way back, we find such a sense of relief. So, as I was reading the chapters for today, this verse came to mind, [Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.] Then as I continued reading, the second verse got my attention as we have been reading about this, [Revelation 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.]

[will I grant to sit with me in my throne,] Remember when we read about James, John, and their mother asking Jesus if they could sit at His right and left? Well, here is the answer, all who are saved are granted to sit with Jesus at His throne. Jesus did not take it lightly when He gave His life to save us from hell. Therefore, He does not take it lightly if we reject Him. We are not forced to accept Jesus as our Saviour, it is our right to choose whether or not we believe that He, born of a virgin, died a sinless death on the cross to save us from hell, was buried, and resurrected three days later, promising to give eternal life to only those who believe in Him.

[Revelation 21:4,7-8  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.]

Remember also when Jesus told the disciples that it was near impossible for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God because of their love for riches, but it was possible with God? Well, to prove that point, we come to a man named Zacchaeus, he was a tax collector, very rich, With all that he had, he knew something was missing in something in his life, when he heard that Jesus was passing through town he just had to see what Him.

[Luke 19:2-10  And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.  3  And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.  4  And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.  5  And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.  6  And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.  7  And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.  8  And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.  9  And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.  10  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.]

[for to day I must abide at thy house.] This was Jesus knocking on Zacchaeus’ door, the second we accept Him as our Saviour, He abides with us forever. [That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.] What if we have sin in our lives? The same applies. We are saved by grace alone through our faith in Jesus, [Titus 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;]

[to seek and to save that which was lost.] While Jesus died for all mankind, He will only save those ones who believe in Him. Why? Well, would you have anything to do with someone who does not believe you? The choice is yours, but every knee will bow to Christ one day, and by no other name can be saved, [Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.]

You see, the proud Jews and religious nuts foolishly thought that they were saved because of who they are, it did not matter what the Scriptures said, they refused to believe that Jesus is their only way into heaven. Through a parable, Jesus explains that no one gets into heaven without Him, those who try will die in their sin.

[Luke 19:11–12,14,26-27  And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.  12  He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.  14  But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.  26  For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.  27  But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.]

[We will not have this man to reign over us.] Of course, Jesus is speaking of Himself here, the world, and most religions despise Him, they cannot stand that He is the only way to God, and will not accept Him. That sadly includes many religions who call themselves Christians. I find it appalling that they have the nerve to call themselves Christians when they do not believe in who He is. I can only imagine how that makes Jesus feel, which is why He will not hesitate to take His gift of salvation away from them and give it to those who do believe in Him. Through another parable, Jesus explains this again.

[Mark 12:1-2,6-11  And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.  2  And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 6  Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.  7  But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.  8  And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.  9  What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.  10  And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:  11  This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?]

[he will come and destroy the husbandmen,] These are the religious nuts who make up their own ways to get into heaven and say it comes from God. Jesus point blank, tells us not to believe in all this garbage, but the false religion leaders will receive the greater damnation, [Mark 12:38-40  And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,  39  And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:  40  Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.]

[these shall receive greater damnation] Ignorance saves no one! Do you think that Jesus enjoys seeing so many people cast into hell? Of course not. He actually cries for them. There is nothing He can do, if they deny Him, He will deny them, [Matthew 10:32-33  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  33  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.]

[him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.] This is not Jesus being mean and cruel, this is Him abiding by their wishes, they despised Him, they rejected Him, they refused to believe that He is the only way to God and heaven. As Jesus looks over at the city of Jerusalem, He cries for them, [Luke 19:41-44  And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,  42  Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.  43  For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,  44  And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.]

[but now they are hid from thine eyes.] We only have today, there is no guarantee of tomorrow, at any time, God could close that door and when He does, it will never open again to that soul. Anyone who dies without receiving Christ as their Saviour will be cast into hell. And that is not the end of it, when Christ returns, their bodies too will resurrect, only to stand before Jesus a second time, this is Judgment Day, and they will be cast into the lake of fire.

[Revelation 20:11-15  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.]
