About The Word Dinosaur
The word "dinosaur" is not found anywhere in
the Bible. This is because the word was not invented until the mid
1800's. The "King James Bible" was translated into English in 1611, but
that does
not mean
that the animals we now call dinosaurs are not in the Bible. The Bible
says that Adam named all the animals that God created. So to find the
dinosaurs we will have to look for the original Hebrew name given to
these giant
creatures.
The original name
given to the dinosaurs would more accurately describe these animals. The
word dinosaur
actually
means terrible lizard and though they became a menace after sin had
entered the earth, the dinosaurs were not created that way. Dinosaurs
were beautiful, like all of Gods creation, and if you look carefully you
will see that their kind is still around today. Dinosaurs, like all of
God creatures, were created to peacefully coexist with man. He did the
same for lions and even the black widow spider, but all that changed
when sin came into the world. “And
unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy
wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying,
Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow
shalt thou eat of
it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring
forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of
thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out
of it wast thou taken: for dust thou
art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
- Genesis 3:17-19.
The evidence that contradicts the Theory of Evolution is not often
shown to the general public. Leaving people with the incorrect belief
that
these
animals really did exist billions of years ago and went extinct through
the process of evolution. What is sad is that many Christians trust
man's theories more than the True Word of God, others are left in the
position of not knowing what to believe. Some often compromise what the
Bible says. They over think the matter, coming up with two completely
opposing viewpoints of our origins or they try to add evolution to the
Bible, hoping a Biblical compromise will give credibility to the Genesis
account. But, in actuality this compromise causes the Bible
to lose credibility not gain it. If the very first words of the Bible
cannot be trusted as true history, then why would
anyone hold the remainder of the Bible in any higher regard? So,
with dinosaurs written
in the Bible, what would you expect
it to say about them? That they were created by God to live peacefully
with man, and other animals? Or
that they lived millions of years before man, existing only
in a violent death filled world?
While it
man seem like a ridiculous question, the latter of the two seems more
believable than the truth that God did create giant lizards that
coexisted with man and that none of them were violent in the beginning.
Think about this, when God created everything in six days, He saw that
it was good. That means sin had not been introduced and there was no
death upon man or beast. Dinosaurs could not have been here at a time
that was violent because it is sin that brings death, sin and death was
brought to man with Adam and Eve sinned in the perfect world. “Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death
passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin
was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had
not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the
figure of him that was to come.”
- Romans 5:12-14.
How
Do Dinosaurs Fit Into The Bible
There has been such a lack of study by
Christians of the Bible, that many cannot answer this question. Growing
up, many have been taught so many evolutionary teachings that they do
not question evolution,
instead
they question the Bible. We were repeatedly told that dinosaurs lived
millions of years ago, if you are told something repeatedly, year after
year, you will begin to believe it, even if it is not true. The amazing
thing is there is no evidence to support the belief that dinosaurs lived
millions
of years ago. In fact, the physical evidence contradicts this very idea.
The Carbon Date of A Dinosaur Bone
Carbon dating is a variety of
radioactive dating which is applicable only to matter (substance) that
was once living and presumed to be in equilibrium with the atmosphere,
meaning taking in carbon dioxide from the air for photosynthesis.
Dinosaur bones that are carbon dated
give dates of only a few thousand years old, not millions like
evolutionists claim. Incidentally, dinosaur bones are NOT actually
carbon dated. They are assigned an age based on how old someone thinks
they are, based upon the geologic column. Many people are under the
false impression that carbon dating proves that dinosaurs and other
extinct animals lived millions of years ago. What many do not realize is
that carbon dating is not used to date dinosaurs.
The reason?
Carbon dating only
dates
things back to a few thousand years. So, if scientists believe that a
creature lived millions of years ago, then they would need to date it
another way, but there is the problem. They assume dinosaurs lived
millions of years ago, instead of a few thousand years like the bible
says. Instead of going with the truth they doctor the info and ignore
evidence that does not fit their preconceived notion.
What happens when a dinosaur bone is carbon
dated? At Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Scientists dated dinosaur
bones using the Carbon dating method. The age they came back with was
only a few thousand years old. This date did not fit the preconceived
notion that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. So what did they do?
They threw the results out. And kept their theory that dinosaurs lived
millions of years ago instead.

Scripture Proving Dinosaurs Walked
With Man
It is not unusual to see animals referred to
with names we do not
recognize. If you look in any Bible dictionary under animals, you will
see lots of animals and their original Hebrew names. For example who
would recognize the word "namer" as being the cheetah? Or "akbar" as
being the mouse? The translation of many animal names from Hebrew was
quite easy. Scholars could look at the physical descriptions and apply
the appropriate English name. But when the translators came to
an animal that was not recognized they kept
the Hebrew name, for example, the behemoth, they did not know what
animal was because no living animal fit that description. So in the King
James Bible, they kept animal's original Hebrew name. Keep in mind,
these animals were described by God during a time before the flood.
The Behemoth
The King James Bible is the only current
translation that keeps the name behemoth, many have changed the word,
suggesting that the it could be a hippo (sometimes referred to as a
water horse), an elephant, or even an ox, but if you study the physical
description from the Bible, all of these suggestions are incorrect. The
word "Behemoth" means,
a beast or brute; from an Arabic vert, which signifies, to shut, to lie
hid, to be dumb. In other words a huge,
brute creature, that lies hidden and is dumb.
Strong’s Hebrew definitions defines it as a mute dumb beast, especially
any large quadruped (Having four legs and feet.) or animal. But if we
take a look at the description we can see that it is much different from
an elephant or hippo.
"Behold
now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now,
his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his
belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are
wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are
like bars of iron. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him
can make his sword to approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring him
forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He lieth under the
shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. The shady trees cover
him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can
draw up Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose
pierceth through snares."
- Job 40:15-18.
The
Attributes of The Behemoth
“he
eateth grass as an ox.”
The animal is not a meat eater and since God Himself says it eats grass
like an ox, it is a given that it is not an ox.
“his
strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.”
This suggests that animal has great strength in its legs. While
elephants do have strength, their strength comes from their trunk, not
their legs or the core of their belly.
“He
moveth his tail like a cedar:”
This suggests that the animal has a huge tail, and strong as a tree. An
elephant has a small tail, and so do hippos. “the
sinews of his stones are wrapped together.”
Sinews are the tendons of the muscles, these are testicles.
“His
bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.”
This suggests they have huge bones, strong bones. While elephants do
have big bones, they are not strong as God describes. Hippos are big,
but not strong.
“He
is the chief of the ways of God:”
This suggests that the animal was one of authority, probably because of
its strength.
“He
lieth under the shady trees,”
This suggests that the animal was one that stayed on the ground, and
stood under the trees for shade.
“he
drinketh up a river, and hasteth not:”
This suggests that the animal could drink so much that it could draw up
a river.
“He
taketh it with his eyes:”
This suggests that the animal could put its head under water. Hippos can
put their eyes in the water, but the other descriptions just do not add
up with it being a hippo.
“his
nose pierceth through snares.”
This suggests that the animal has a hook on its nose. While an elephant
has a truck, other parts of the description do not add up with is being
an elephant.
Modern Bibles and study Bibles have
translated the word behemoth to mean elephant or hippopotamus, which is
why it may seem as though dinosaurs were not here the same time as man.
Even the Bible concordance puts the same suggestions in the minds of the
people. Others will put a note at the edge or bottom of the page,
stating that the behemoth was probably an elephant or a hippopotamus
(water horse). Although an elephant or hippopotamus can eat grass or lie
in the reeds and marsh of the water, the entire description discredits
both of these.
The Leviathan
The Leviathan
(livyathan),
means
“twisted,” “coiled.” this was it “denotes any large animal that moves by
writhing or wriggling the body. Strong’s Hebrew dictionary definitions
defined it as a wreathed
animal, that is, a serpent (especially the crocodile or some other large
sea monster); figuratively the constellation of the dragon.
Many suggest that this is a whale or
crocodile, but as we read the description we can see that it is neither
of these. "Canst
thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which
thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw
through with a thorn? Who can discover the face of his garment? or who
can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his
face? his teeth are terrible round about. His scales are his pride, shut
up together as with a close seal. By his neesings a light doth shine,
and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go
burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth
smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals,
and a flame goeth out of his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength, and
sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined
together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved."
- Job 41:1,2,14,15,18-23.
The Attributes of Leviathan
“Canst
thou draw out leviathan with an hook?”
This suggests that the animal is of the water and cannot be caught with
a fishing hook. While whales have
the charateristics of a fish, it cannot twist or coil itself.
“or
his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?”
This further suggests that the animal has characteristics of a fish, it
cannot be caught with a fishing rod. It also has a large rather large
tongue. Again, while whales do have large tongues, they cannot twist and
coil themselves.
“Canst
thou put an hook into his nose?”
This suggests that the animal has a big nose and again, cannot be caught
with a fishing hook. While both the whale and crocodile do have a large
nose, the previous verses do not suggest either.
“or
bore his jaw through with a thorn?”
This suggests that the animal
has a strong, thick jaw bone. “Who
can discover the face of his garment?”
This suggests that the animal has a covering over its face. While
crocodiles do have rough skin over the face, they do not have the
characteristics of a fish.
“or
who can come to him with his double bridle?”
A bridle is a bit to restrain the mouth, this suggests that the animal
cannot be restrained nor can a bridle fit its
mouth. “Who
can open the doors of his face?”
This further suggests that the animal has something covering its face,
something that cannot be removed.
“his
teeth are terrible round about.”
This suggests that the animal has lots of round teeth. While a
crocodiles strength is in its teeth, and it can twist, it cannot coil
its body.
“His
scales are his pride,”
This suggests that the animal has scales and it is proud. Crocodiles
have scales, but not like a fish, they are rough and tough.
“By
his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of
the morning.”
This suggests that the animal sneezes and has dried up crusty looking
eyelids.
“Out
of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.”
This suggests that the animal breathes fire. It almost suggests a dragon
like creature.
“Out
of his nostrils goeth smoke, His breath kindleth coals, and a flame
goeth out of his mouth.”
This also proves that the animal is not a whale or a crocodile.
“In
his neck remaineth strength,”
This suggest that animal gets its strength from its neck. A crocodiles
strength is in its jaw, a whales strength is in its tail.
“The
flakes of his flesh are joined together:”
This suggest that the animal sheds its skin, it is joined together as
one. Crocodiles scales shed one at a time, not all at once.
