Jesus is the Word
(God)
made flesh, He came to earth to
die for us so that we
not only can get our soul saved
from death and hell, but
live the best life that we can possibly live until He comes to get us.
First of all, there is ample
evidence recorded in Scripture proving that Jesus is God in the flesh.
The human body of Jesus Christ
held the whole deity and glory of God,
yet He gave all that power to
God, the Father in order to bring permanent redemption to all who
believe in Him.
From the beginning, Jesus
(the Word)
was with God, and Jesus was God.
The Bible
also
establishes the deity nature of
God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, whom are all One
God.
Below is Scripture that
proves that Jesus is God.
Jesus Performed
Miracles That Only
Can
"When
the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto
thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? And
in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of
evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus
answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have
seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is
preached."
- Luke 7:20-22
Jesus Had
Several
Eyewitnesses Document They
Know He Is God
"When
Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some
say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias,
or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the
living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but
my Father which is in heaven."
- Matthew 16:13-17
Jesus Fulfills The Prophecies
Written by Isaiah and Moses
Given By God
"For
this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice
of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make
his paths straight."
- Matthew 3:3 Ref: "The
voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
- Isaiah 40:3
"And
in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye
shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall
not perceive:"
- Matthew 13:14. Ref: "They
have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they
cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand."
- Isaiah 44:18
"And
he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I
was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written
in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning
me."
- Luke 24:44
Jesus Himself Reveals Several
Times That He is God.
"I
and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father;
for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying,
For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that
thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, Is it not
written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto
whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of
him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou
blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not the works
of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me,
believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in
me, and I in him."
- John 10:30-38.
"And
I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will
build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And
I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever
thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou
shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his
disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ."
- Matthew 16:18-20
"And
the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying,
Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? But
he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked
him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And
Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right
hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."
- Mark 14:60-62
His
Resurrection of Proves He is
God
"In
the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the
week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And,
behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord
descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,
and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment
white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as
dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye:
for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for
he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
-Matthew 28:1-6
"And
when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James,
and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint
him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came
unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among
themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the
sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled
away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a
young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment;
and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye
seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not
here: behold the place where they laid him."
- Mark 16:1-6
"Now
upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came
unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and
certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the
sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord
Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout,
behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were
afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them,
Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen:
remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee."
- Luke 24:1-6
Jesus Is
Also A
Human
Man
Scripture proves that not only
is
Jesus God,
He
is
also a
human
man, capable of sin and
temptations just as the rest of us. Jesus is the key to membership in
God’s family.
He could have come any other way,
but by
becoming a man, He made it
possible for us to relate to Him and for God to relate to us through
Him. "And
ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no
sin."
- 1 John 3:5
Below is Scripture Proving
Jesus
Is A Man Who
Came
To Save Man
Jesus Became Flesh And Made
His Dwelling Among Us
"And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth."
- John 1:14
Jesus Was Tempted In Every
Way, Just As We Are
"For
we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of
our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet
without sin."
- Hebrews 4:15
His
Immaculate
Birth Was Prophesied 800 Years Before His Coming
"Therefore
the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive,
and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
- Isaiah 7:14
The Prophecy Was Fulfilled To
The Letter
"And
the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with
God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a
son, and shalt call his name JESUS."
- Luke 1:30-31
Jesus Demonstrated The Same
Human Characteristics As We Do
He Became Tired
"Now
Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey,
sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour"
- John 4:6
He Became Thirsty
"After
this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the
scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst."
- John 19:28
He Became Hungry
"And
when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And
while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them,
Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and
of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them."
- Luke 24:40-43
He Has Feelings
"And
Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion
toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he
began to teach them many things."
- Mark 6:34
He Cries
"When
Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came
with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled. And said, Where
have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept."
- John 11:33-35
He Was Tempted
"And
Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord
thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed
from him for a season. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit
into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region
round about."-
Luke 4:12-14
He Died
"After
this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the
scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a
vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put
it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had
received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head,
and gave up the ghost."-
John 19:28-30
The real test of what a person
believes
Jesus
to be
must revolve around who He
claimed to be, and what He accomplished during His brief mission in the
world. Our conclusion must be that there is no Christianity without
Christ, He is the core of being a Christian. And if you believe that you
are a Christian or a person of God without knowing who Jesus truly is
than you have been living under false pretenses.
