Chronicles Chapter 20 The Capture of Rabbah 1Ch 20:1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it. 1Ch 20:2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city. 1Ch 20:3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. Philistine Giants Killed 1Ch 20:4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued. 1Ch 20:5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam. 1Ch 20:6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant. 1Ch 20:7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him. 1Ch 20:8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants. Psalm Chapter 32 Blessed Are the Forgiven Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Psa 32:3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. Psa 32:4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. Psa 32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Psa 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psa 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psa 32:9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. Psa 32:10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. Psa 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. Psalm Chapter 86 Great Is Your Steadfast Love Psa 86:1 A Prayer of David. Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Psa 86:2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Psa 86:3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Psa 86:4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. Psa 86:5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psa 86:6 Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. Psa 86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. Psa 86:8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. Psa 86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. Psa 86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. Psa 86:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psa 86:12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Psa 86:13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. Psa 86:14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them. Psa 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psa 86:16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. Psa 86:17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me. Psalm Chapter 122 Let Us Go to the House of the Lord Psa 122:1 A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Psa 122:2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Psa 122:3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: Psa 122:4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. Psa 122:5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psa 122:7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. Psa 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Psa 122:9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. |
