Message: Your Calling From God

Hello My Friend,

The more I walk with Christ the more I discover, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” – I Corinthians 6:19. I honestly do not understand how it is that so many men and women too, of God get caught up in sin, but the only way this happens is if they are not grounded in Christ. I know I am a sinner and mess up every day, but I know my boundaries, and while I dangle at times, those boundaries are what keep me from falling off that cliff. You see, I know my flesh is weak, and without Christ guiding my every step I know I will fall off that cliff. And it is not the fact that I am a sinner saved by grace that keeps me grounded in Christ, it is that fact that I am one of His ministers, people look up to me for guidance in the ways of Christ, I not only must answer God, who appointed me my duties, I also must answer to the people God entrusts me with. I may not be a shepherd, but I am an example, and I must be the example of Christ because He bought and paid for my life with His own. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – I Corinthians 6:20.

Jesus took it very seriously when He died on the cross for us, therefore, He takes it very seriously when we come to Him sincerely seeking salvation by our faith solely in Him. Let me tell you, there are thousands of people that get saved all over the world, and praise God for that, but there are very few that Jesus chooses to serve Him in His ministry. Why? He knows our calling. Just as He takes our salvation seriously, He takes our serving Him seriously, and will put us in His ministry where we will be the most effective. God put the Levites in charge of the duties of the tabernacle, and He did this according to their families.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office. And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him. And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle. And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.” – Numbers 3:2-7,10,12-13.

and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.” Any person that was not of the Levites was a stranger, and even if they touched one cloth they would die instantly. Why? One; they were not of the tribe, and Two; they were not anointed. We cannot do one single thing for God in His Church unless we are anointed, meaning have Christ’s blood applied to our soul. Works are not at all required for our salvation, but unless we want our works to count, we must be anointed with the blood of Christ. “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” – II Corinthians 1:20-22.

Besides Moses and Aaron, Levi had three more sons, Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. God appointed each of the families of these sons to serve Him, the family of Gershon would be responsible for the things on the outside of the tabernacle, including the tent itself. The family of Merari would be responsible for the boards and pillars that would hold it all together. The family of the Kohath the most responsibility of all, transporting everything that was inside of the tabernacle, including the ark of the covenant.

And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites. In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary. The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward. And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof. And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary. But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.” – Numbers 3:27-32,38-39.

even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward,” Each of the families encircled the tabernacle just like the tribes did, but they were right there next to it, Moses and Aaron were the leaders of the pack, always pointing east, which would be the entrance of the tabernacle. “were twenty and two thousand.” There were only twenty-two thousand Levites appointed to serve, that compared to the hundreds of thousands of people of the other tribes. This is more proof that God works in small numbers, which is why His most blessed and prosperous churches are the smaller congregations that serve Him with all their heart rather than the ones who are out to serve for the sole purpose of glorifying themselves. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” – II Peter 2:1-2.

When God chooses us to do something, it is specific, and it must be handled as He instructs. God goes into further detail of the tasks of the Levites, before the Kohathites could even carry the items they needed to be covered, Aaron and his sons would cover each piece with a blue cloth, making sure nothing was exposed.

Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers, From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation. This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things: And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it: And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof. And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation. Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites: But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden: But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.” – Numbers 4:2-6,15,18-20.

the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it:” How would you like to be given a task from God that had you bearing the weight of it? That is what many of us are called to do. Since this world is so filthy and sadly, a big majority of those saved are living just as filthy as the world, Jesus gives, His elect, the task of bearing the load of the Gospel. “For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” – I Thessalonians 2:3-4.

But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered,” Could you imagine not being able to walk into a church, let alone look at something not covered and die? The reason they could not touch or even look at these items until they were covered is the same reason why we cannot serve God without being covered in Christ’s blood. These items were undefiled, set apart for the sole service of God, anyone touching them that was not sanctified or consecrated would die. This is an example of what happens in churches that preach and teach a false doctrine. They cannot preach Christ saves, and not preach what He saves them from? And they cannot never preach Christ. Anyone who attempts to do God’s work, without being covered in Christ’s blood, will die. “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.” – Luke 13:24-28.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your calling upon our lives, You do not take it lightly when You choose us, as You only choose those who come to Your Son first. Then, as we walk with Your Son, You prepare us for the task that You will have us do. Some of us will serve You as preachers and teachers, while others will help out by encouraging and praying for Your people, but You have given us all the task of ministering the Gospel to the lost. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us Your mercies and grace, and the wisdom and knowledge to do the task You have given us to do, let us not become weary in well doing or take our eyes off You for a second to risk falling into sin. I love You, Lord, and ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
