Message: What Rock Are You Standing On?

Hello My Friend,

Do you know what I realized as I read these chapters? If the scared, misguided, and lost would just consider where they will be when they die they might just open their eyes to Jesus. It is all rather sad when you stop to think about the billions of people on the earth and only a fraction of them will acknowledge Christ, and even less will accept Him. The Jesus reminded me of something He said, [Matthew 7:24-27  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.]

[Rock; Defense; means of safety; protection; strength; asylum. Firmness; a firm or immovable foundation.] When we first come to Christ, and accept Him as our Saviour, we often do not realize that Jesus saves us from more than hell. Our faith in Christ alone takes care of our soul, and praise God for that because we would fail in the worst way if we had to work to keep it. However, the more we learn about Christ the more we understand that Christ is our Rock, our defense against all the evils that are in this world. Even Moses understood this, keep in mind that they knew Him as the LORD.

[Deuteronomy 32:4-10  He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.  5  They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.  6  Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?  7  Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.  8  When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.  9  For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.  10  He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.]

[is not he thy father that hath bought thee?] Look at that! We were bought with a price, and that price was His Son. God gave His Son, so that we might receive eternal life. It is Jesus who gave His life, who became the sinless, spotless sacrifice required to pay the ransom for our soul. Jesus died for all, but He will only save those who come to Him, by faith, [John 3:16,18  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.]

The world loves to quote, John 3:16, but fails to acknowledge John 3:18, which states that those who do not believe are condemned. Do you see the key phrase in the verse? [because he hath not believed in the name] Believing in Jesus is more than believing that He died for you, we must believe in all that He is, and upon His name alone, for His name is the very Rock upon which we stand that saves our soul, [Acts 4:10,12  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.]

You can believe that Jesus died for you, but if you do not believe that it was for the payment your sin, and that you must call upon His name, then you are not standing on the Rock of Christ. If you think that God does not know what rock we stand upon, think again, He definitely knows. The problem is that when those who rejected Him before finally do acknowledge who He is, and that they are sinners and need Him, it is too late.

[Deuteronomy 32:18-21,28-31,37  Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.  19  And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.  20  And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.  21  They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. 28  For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.  29  O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!  30  How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?  31  For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 37  And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,]

[I will see what their end shall be:] I realize something else upon reading this, this is exactly why God has not put an end to Satan yet. He has all the power to control everything, and believe it or not, Satan has to get God’s permission to afflict His people. However, for those who are not His, for those who have no faith, and especially the ones who are trusting false gods, He is going to ask them all the same question when they stand before Him in judgment, “Where are your gods, the rock upon whom you trusted?”. Of course, I paraphrased this, but because they stood upon the rock of their religion or own righteousness, God gave them up, [Romans 1:26-28,32  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  27  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.  28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 32  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.]

Do you think those fools pushing the “Equality Act” do not know what they are doing? They know exactly what they are doing in that it undermines God in every way. And I do not feel sorry for what will come of them, they have been trying to play God for long enough, and this is by far their worse attempt yet, and they too will stand before Jesus in judgment, cast straight into the lake of fire. Do you think that God does not love them too? He loves every soul that He creates, it is their denying Him that sends them to hell, and not God Himself.

[Deuteronomy 33:3,27-29  Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. 27  The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.  28  Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.  29  Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.]

[Israel then shall dwell in safety alone:] Keep in mind that Israel is more than just Jews, they are believers of every family, and therefore, all of Israel will be saved, [Romans 11:26  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Romans 9:6-8  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  7  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  8  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.]

It is only when we love God with all our heart, that we will see Christ for who He truly is, our Deliverer, our Rock that is not only our defense, He is our foundation. We may lose out on some earthly things because, after all, we sinners, but we will never lose our salvation. Now, God leads Moses up to Mount Pisgah, it was there that he could see the promised land, even though he was not able to go in himself.

[Deuteronomy 34:1,4-6,9-12  And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 4  And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.  5  So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.  6  And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.  9  And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.  10  And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,  11  In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,  12  And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.]

[whom the LORD knew face to face,] I am sure that Moses was quite disappointed to not be able to go into the promised land because he hit that rock instead of speaking to it out of anger. Nevertheless, he did not fear death for he knew what Rock He was really standing upon.

[Psalms 91:1-3,9-16  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.  3  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 9  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;  10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.  11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.  12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.  13  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.  14  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.  15  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.  16  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.]

[Because he hath set his love upon me,] God will afflict, He will chasten, He will heal, He will save, He will come to all who call upon Him, [Romans 10:9-12  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Deuteronomy 32:4  He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for the gift of eternal life through Your Son, we do not need to work for our salvation, we just need to call upon His name to save our soul. While my salvation can never be earned or repaid, my faith in You will lead me to obey Your commands as I learn of them through Your Word. You are my Rock upon which I stand, and I know that no one, not even Satan himself can knock me off of it. However, I do know that he will not stop attempting to turn me away from my faith. Lord, Lead me and guide me, give me Your power, wisdom, mercy, grace, and love stand strong in my faith. If there be any wicked way in me, reveal it that I might repent and not hinder any more of Your earthly blessings. Put Your hedge of protection around each and every one of Your faithful to keep us from evil. In ask these things in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
