Message: Two Cups

Hello My Friend,

As I was praying this morning, I literally told Satan as loudly as I could on paper as I did not want to scream it out at five o’clock in the morning, to get behind me. Then I proclaimed my Jesus and this song came to my mind, [Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind. Ohhhh! I’ve got Jesus on my mind! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I’ve got Him on my mind. Ohhhh! I’ve got Jesus on my mind!]. There is more to the song, but we use to sing this in my Sunday school class and would make up verses, like, “When I’m at the store, I’ve got Him on my mind!, When I’m at the store, I’ve got Him on my mind! When I’m at the store, I’ve got Him on my mind!, Oh, Ohhhh! I’ve got Jesus on my mind!”

Let me tell you, when I woke up this morning I realized how good I felt, better than I had in weeks, I got my morning coffee, took my vitamins, and as I sat down in that instant I felt awful again. That was when I cried out to God and told Him that I was done letting Satan chain me down any longer with this pain and started started singing that song. My spirit immediately lifted and that makes a world of a difference as we are reminded that Jesus is with us, He feels our pain, and He is also of great Physician and our Healer from all our infirmities, and even gives us the grace to suffice the cup that He will not remove from us. And as I was praying, I thought about Jesus and how He prayed for the Father to remove His cup, but then said, “Nevertheless, The Will Be Done”. I was looking up that verse and noticed something, all four Gospels mention Jesus praying before His passion, but John adds something else as He was about to be captured, and Peter tried to stop them from taking Him, [John 18:11  Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?]

[Cup; Sufferings and afflictions; that which is to be received or endured. Good received; blessings and favors.] Each and every one of us has not only one cup which our Father has given us, but two, the cup of suffering and the cup of good received, [I Corinthians 10:16-17  The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?  17  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.]

We may dread the thought of the pain that we must endure, but if it is in the will of our Father, He will not only see us through, we will discover that the pain was actually a blessing. If we did not go through what we did we would one, not discover our Saviour for who He truly is, and two, that with Christ all things are possible. When we ask Jesus to save us, by our faith alone, God never promised that there will be no more affliction, or even that He will remove the affliction, He did promise that He will never leave nor forsake us and that by His grace, we will endure it and be blessed through it. We ought to be praising and thanking God for not giving us what we really deserve, whether we care to admit it or not, we are all guilty of something that we would never want to get out in public.

[Psalms 1:1-6  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  4  The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  5  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.  6  For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.]

[Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,] There will be two judgments when Jesus returns, first, He is going to judge His people, the ones who called upon His name, and this is where He is going to judge us according to our works after we got saved. No, we do not lose eternal life unless we believed in vain, but we will give an account for the life we lived, [Romans 14:11-12  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.  12  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.]. The second judgment will be for those who are not saved, they are considered the dead because they never accepted Jesus as their Saviour, [Revelation 20:12-14  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.]

The ones who reject Christ are no different than Satan, they have this great rage toward Christ and all who receive Him. While they really are powerless against Christ, even Satan must obey Him when He tells him to stop afflict His people. That leaves us to question why he and they are so foolish, [Psalms 2:1-5  Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,  3  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  4  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  5  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.]

[the Lord shall have them in derision.] [Derision; The act of laughing at in contempt.] You see, what they are is delusional, they think that the Scriptures are all a bunch of lies, that is until they stat to see the prophecies being fulfilled, each one that comes to pass enrages them all the more, yet that does not stop them from attempting to overthrow them. And they may be laughing at how all Christ’s believers are suffering right now, but Christ will have the last laugh. And you do not need the New Testament to know Christ, He is all throughout the Old, [Psalms 2:7-12  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.  8  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.  9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.  10  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.  11  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him]

[lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way,] God gives us a choice, Jesus gives us a choice, if we are going to say that we believe in Him and ask Him to save us we better make sure that we kiss Him while we are alive, meaning believe in Him with all our heart, mind, body, and soul, trusting that He alone is our salvation and He endured the most painful and horrific cup that any of us will ever endure so that we do not perish and get thrown into the lake of fire. If we deny one dot and one tittle of His Word, then Christ will deny us, [John 3:18-21  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.]

[lest his deeds should be reproved.] Do you understand what this means? We have all denied Christ at one point, (look at Peter, he denied Him three times). What is important here is that we repent, we turn away from all the doubts, the fears, or the evil that caused us to deny Him and ask for His forgiveness with a sincere and pure heart. Then we will understand that the cup of affliction that we are given makes our testimony that much more effective in reaching those who are walking in the dark, [Psalms 106:1-5  Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.  2  Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?  3  Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.  4  Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;  5  That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.]

[Blessed are they that keep judgment,] The reason that Satan and the heathens despise us so much is because they know we belong to Jesus, even if they kill our body our soul is covered under the blood of Christ and untouchable. They envy us like you would not believe, just like the Jews envied Moses and Aaron who did not even know they were covered under His blood, [Psalms 106:16-23  They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.  17  The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.  18  And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.  19  They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.  20  Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.  21  They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;  22  Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.  23  Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.]

[had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach,] It is Jesus who stands before the Father, pleading our cause, asking His Father to have mercy on us and save us because we believe in Him. Jesus, while fully God and fully man, stands at the right hand of His Father, not only pleading, but praying for us as well.

[John 17:9-11,13-16,25-26  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.  10  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.  11  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.  13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.  14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.  26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.]

[that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.] No matter how many times we mess up, no matter how many times we repent, no matter how many times we let Satan get the best of us, each and every time, Jesus is there to pick us back up, dust us off, and get us moving forward, only that much more stronger to bear the cup we must endure, and to receive the cup of goodness that we will receive. Amen! [Psalms 107:1-7  O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.  2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;  3  And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.  4  They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.  5  Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.  6  Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.  7  And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.]

[that they might go to a city of habitation.] Until we find Christ, we are lost in this giant, but oh so small world that we dwell. We are just sheep wandering around without a shepherd to take us in and keep us safely within His watch, [I Peter 2:21,24-25  For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  25  For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.]

This brings me a thought about a Christian based movie that I was watching, the man who was a pastor came into a church that was changing things up with loud music and messages that really were not King James Bible biblical. He discussed how the shepherd carries a sheep with a broken leg around his neck, but did not mention that the shepherd is the one who broke its leg because it wandered off way too many times. It was, done to teach the sheep to stay close to his master and never wander off again, and sheep will never leave his side ever again. You see, Jesus, our Shepherd, does have to break our leg (not literally) sometimes because we keep wandering away from His protection, if He does, He nurtures us and carries us through until we are healed, and then we know better not to ever do it again. This is why I always say that while God does allow us to wander into sin, He never lets us fall completely. Those who do were never honestly saved to begin with, a true believer will never lose their faith that Christ will indeed give us the cup of salvation simply by our faith in Him alone.

[Psalms 107:28-30,35-38,43  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.  29  He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.  30  Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. 35  He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.  36  And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;  37  And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.  38  He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. 43  Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Psalms 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.]

Today’s Prayer: Jesus, Thank You for doing for me what I could never do, even if I hung on the cross myself. Your great sacrifice not only saved me from hell, which would have been enough on its own, it gave me eternal life when You arose from the dead three days later. I know that I am only saved by grace through my faith and none of my works will ever nor are necessary for my salvation. I kissed You before You got angry with me and now I will spend eternity with You and not only that, You stand there right next to our Father, pleading my cause, reminding Him that I am covered under Your blood. Even when I mess up, and wander away from You You are faithful and just to not only stand in my defense, but teach me to stick close to You like glue. Thank You, for loving me and not giving up on me, and for Your longsuffering to save a sinner like me. Lord, let everything I do bring honor and glory to you. Give me Your power, mercy, grace, and strength to endue the cup that You have given me, and if I mess up, let me quickly come to You instead of wandering around trying to clean it up myself. I love You and ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
