Message: Warning About Socialism

Hello My Friend,

Socialism is the ideal that the government is responsible for the welfare of the people, they will feed you, clothe you, shelter you, provide for you, and care for you. That is, as long as you follow their rules, including their religion, and if you do not, then you are a traitor to your country and will be punished. Why do you think the pilgrims left the UK in search of a new land? Or the Iranians actually cheering when Soleimani was just recently killed? Or the people of Hong Kong are protesting China? They know exactly what happens when the government is in charge of their well being, and no longer have a say in what that is. I will tell you what, we all want to be cared for, we all have needs, but it is not our well being that is at stake here, it is our faith. Yes, our faith plays a huge part in our well being, if we have the mentality that everything ought to be handed to us without any effort of obtaining it, then we are not going to have much because without works, faith is dead.

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” – James 2:14-20.

notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body;” Okay, so, part of our duties as a Christian is to help out those who are less fortunate than us. Jesus said, and I am paraphrasing, “If you have two coats, give one to someone who needs one.” I just went though my closet and have a bag full of clothes that I am donating. I tell this to everyone who comes to me and tells me that they cannot do something because they have no money, “It is not about money.” If we are a saved, born again Christian then, God is our caregiver, and He will provide for our wellbeing. Once we get that through our heads, and stop being so worried about how our needs are going to be met, then we will see that He will take care of them through our faith and works. There had been a famine in Egypt, and Canaan, for two years, it was going to last for five more years. After Joseph reunites with his brothers, he sent them, also with the approval of the Pharaoh, for their father as well as the entire family. Sixty-six people packed up all their belongings and headed to Egypt.

And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.” – Genesis 46:1-7.

I will go down with thee into Egypt;” You see, God was with them. God goes with His people wherever they go, and if He needs to relocate us for a while, then that is what He will do, but it is also important that we remain separated from the world. When Jacob arrived, he met up with Joseph, and that was when Joseph instructed them to say that they were mere shepherds seeking shelter during the famine.

And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.” – Genesis 46:28-34.

And the men are shepherds,” Shepherds; meaning herdsmen. Joseph, knowing the culture of the Egyptians, did not want them to feel intimidated by his family coming into the country, he kept them working as what they a called servant position. “for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.” The Egyptians considered farm work as above them, and only for meant for the poorest people in the land. This also kept the Israelite’s from socializing with the Egyptians. The land of Goshen was actually the best in all the land, it was given to them, for their stay. If we have faith in God providing for us, and are willing to serve Him, He will give us the best, no matter what land He takes us. “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” – John 15:15-16.

and that your fruit should remain:” We may have to face some challenges in life, but it is those challenges that make us fruitful, meaning prosperous. Do you think that God wants His people begging for food, or sleeping on streets? He does not. We are capable of a lot more than we think, if we have faith in God, and make an effort to better ourselves. The problem is, we get lazy, or sometimes, as in my case, weary of working. Being weary is wearing yourself out physically, mentally, and spiritually with works, but lacking faith. It is like riding a stationary bike, you pedal like crazy, wear yourself out, but end up going no where. Yes, I have worn myself out doing God’s work because I lacked faith. And what exactly happens when we get weary in well doing. Well, we will learn that from the Egyptians. Now, here they were several years into the famine, both the Egyptians and Canaanites sought their provisions in the government, giving them every cent they had for food.

And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.” – Genesis 47:13-17.

for the money faileth.” It only took them a year to lose all their money and discover it did failed them. This is why it aggravates me to no end when I see those commercials touting buying gold and silver, none of that will save or help anyone while famines come. “and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.” Another year went by, this time they were selling all their worth. This is another thing that aggravates me, people selling everything they have for provisions. Okay, so, there are some things we do not need and it is wise to sell them, but selling off everything we have to the government, it will not save or help us either. Yes, there was a famine, yes, they needed food, and yes, the government is there to help us in times of need, but giving them everything we own will fail. And that is exactly what the discovered. Now, they have no money, and they have no possessions. What do they do? They do the unthinkable, they sell their land and themselves to the government. In other words, they became the servants they thought were an abomination to them.

When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands: Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate. Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land. And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones. And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants. And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.” – Genesis 47:18-19,23-26.

buy us and our land for bread,” How quick is the world to sell themselves out for handouts. And here was the thing, it was not really a handout, they bought and paid for that food. This is proof that nothing given to us is free, everything we get for free was bought and purchased by someone. Our salvation was not free, yes, when we willingly accept Christ as our Saviour, we are given the gift of eternal life, but Jesus bought and paid for our salvation with His life (I Corinthians 6:20). “here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.” At this point, do you realize that they were now able to make provisions for themselves? That the corn could have been planted, and they could have provided for themselves. And now, the government owed everything, and they were mere tenants of their property. Since everything now belonged to the government, they had to pay a twenty percent tax on everything they produced on that land because it no longer belonged to them. Let me tell you, socialism does not and will never work, we cannot get something for doing absolutely nothing, and if God is not in the picture, any effort will get us absolutely nowhere. “For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.” – I Corinthians 7:22-24.

Today’s Prayer: God, You have placed us on a journey of faith, one where we learn to trust You for all that we have need of, for the present and the future, whether it is in our relationships, our health, our provisions, or our spiritual needs. I am so glad I learned to trust You with my life, now, help me learn to trust You in every area of my life, through all the circumstances I face, even when things look hopeless, I know You are there and will always take care of me. Lord, all that I have is Yours, lead me and guide me, let me give to Your what is Yours, to Cesar what is his, and take care of those You send to me. I may not have silver or gold, but what I can give let me give it abundantly, and that is the Gospel. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
