Message: Trust With Patience

Hello My Friend,

You know, God’s will, while it can seem rather challenging, is obtainable, there is nothing that He asks of us that we are not capable of doing, with a little patience, faith, faithfulness, and a whole lot of trust, we can succeed. We may not become kings, queens, presidents, governors, or leaders of towns and cities, but whatever it is that God calls us to do, we can do it as long as we trust His direction. Oh yes, sometimes His direction takes us down some twisted roads, but He is right there with us, and as long a we proceed with Him, we will be prosperous.

[Psalms 37:3-9  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  4  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.  6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.  7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.  9  For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.]

[fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,] I told you that someone accused me of being either arrogant or envious because I stated that I do not care what people of wealth have because I think what I have is looks better than what they have. Well, I am thinking that she was the one who was envious of me because I am happy with the little bit I have, which I think is much. What is the saying? “Little is much when God is in it.” I Chronicles goes into more detail of what took place after David made Solomon king before his death because his elder brother Adonijah attempted to take the throne before he did. David reminds the congregation that it was God who chose Solomon to be the next king Himself.

[I Chronicles 29:1,9-11,16-19  Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God. 9  Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.  16  O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.  17  I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.  18  O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:  19  And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.]

[and is all thine own.] This past year I have really come to understand this, everything we have in our possession is on loan to us from God, and He will give and take as He sees fit. [And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart,] I ask God every day to keep my heart tender so that it is always concerned about Him. It does not matter how strong our faith in God, all it takes is one thing to get into our heart and we could lose our faith. Keep in mind that once we are saved we are always saved, should someone fall into an abyss of sin and lose sight of God, He is faithful and just to remember the covenant He made with us to give us eternal life through our faith alone in Christ. Think about it, we fail Him daily, and yet, He never goes back on His promise. He knew us from the moment we were conceived, yet He saw fit to reveal who He is to us, He is where our hope rides.

[Psalms 71:5-9,14-15  For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.  6  By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.  7  I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.  8  Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.  9  Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. 14  But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.  15  My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.  16  I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.]

[I am as a wonder unto many;] This sounds a lot like we are a peculiar people because we trust in God. I am glad that I am a wonder to those who really are envious and get jealous when they see someone of faith so happy and blessed. So, I do not have a fifty thousand dollar car, or a million dollar home, I have a mansion waiting for me, as do we all, who put our faith and trust in Christ, [John 14:1-4  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  4  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.] Praise God!

David knew his end was near, that his success as king had nothing to do with who he was, rather who God is, which is why after Solomon was anointed king, he spoke to him, and gave him some words to live by.

[I Kings 2:1-6  Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,  2  I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;  3  And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:  4  That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.  5  Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.  6  Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.]

[to walk before me in truth with all their heart] It is very important that we teach the next generation that there are consequences to disobedience. Kids today have no respect for adults or anyone in authority and it all comes from how they were taught, much of it being that whether you win or lose you still get the prize. Kids, in fact, well need to learn that success is not always about winning, it is how you run the race, [Hebrews 12:1-2  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.].

[and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.] After forty years of what looked like Joab getting away with everything, David wanted vengeance and that is what he got too. Solomon wasted no time in avenging not only his father, but himself as Adonijah shows up trying to get Bathsheba to talk Solomon into giving the young woman that the people brought to David to wife when he took ill.

[I Kings 2:19,22,24,26,33-34  Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand. 22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 24  Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day. 26  And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. 33  Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.  34  So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.]

[for it was his from the LORD.] Do you see where envy got Adonijah? He tried to take things into his own hands and had he just accepted God’s will he would have survived and probably been successful in whatever Solomon would have given him to do. We do not always like God’s will, but if we trust Him He will direct us where we are going to be the most successful. Envy, pride, jealousy, whether it is of those of the world or fellow Christians, gets us no where, and those who think they prosper by doing things deceitfully will fall, and fast in God’s time.

[Psalms 94:4-7,11-18  How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?  5  They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.  6  They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.  7  Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. 11  The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.  12  Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;  13  That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.  14  For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.  15  But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.  16  Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?  17  Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.  18  When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.]

[For the LORD will not cast off his people,] This goes back to what I was saying earlier, we may mess up, and there are some of us who will lose sight of God and get caught up in an abyss of sin, but our faith in Christ alone is God’s promise to us that He will never leave nor forsake us. Yes, we will get chastened, and many saints will die in their sin, yet by His mercy, they are saved, [Romans 3:9-11,21-24  What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  11  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;  22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:] Amen!

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for giving me life and the life You have given me, I may not have been born in wealth, but I am certainly wealthy as You never fail to give me even more than I ever expected to desire with my heart. And thank You for giving me eternal life, and for the great sacrifice You made so that my sin debt was bought and paid for by Your Son’s perfect sacrifice. You are the one who orders our steps, may we be used to be a testimony of the life You have given us through Your Son, and not an example of what happens if we are not. You are my life, I am nothing apart from You, I do not want riches or fame, all I want is to know Your will for my life and how I am to obtain that. Lord, Lead me and guide me, give me Your power to walk with You everywhere I go, the wisdom and understanding on how to make the right decisions and judgment of people, give me Your strength to take those steps, help me to run this race with patience all the way to the finished line, and keep my heart perfect and trusting in You at all times. I love You and ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
