Message: Seeking Signs

Hello My Friend,

I was searching for a movie to watch when I came across a documentary about some people trying to find evidence that the Ark existed. Skeptics have always been trying to find evidence of what is written in the Bible, they claim if they found something they would believe. This is exactly why the exact location of the tomb is not given. Well, the truth is, they are not wanting to believe anything about God or follow Him, they just want fame, and God will never give that to them, [Matthew 16:2-4  He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.  3  And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?  4  A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.]

[but can ye not discern the signs of the times?] The world is so smart that they can tell you exactly when a hurricane will pass through a city at certain time, but they are such fools to realize that all these storms and even this virus that has lingered for over a year now is God telling them to get their act together pronto. Do you think that God is okay with how much of a mockery they are making out of life itself? It is pure evil to kill a baby in a womb or to mutilate a body, trying to change its gender. Of course, if things were as bad as they are right now, can you imagine what it was like before the flood? When God saw the wickedness of nearly all of man He felt great grief for even creating man, I do not think God was angry at them because they were all ignorant to what they were doing.

[Genesis 6:1-8  And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,  2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.  3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.  4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.  5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  6  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  7  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.  8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.]

[My spirit shall not always strive with man,] This is why we must receive Christ as our Saviour before God even pays attention to us. As precious as man is to God, He will not come to one person who does not come to His Son first. And you can question what He did before Christ came and gave His life for man, but as you can see, even during this time it was by grace that He saved them through their faith and faithfulness to Him, [Romans 4:3  For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.].

[There were giants in the earth in those days;] Have you noticed that children are developing much faster these days? Not to mention this, [every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.]? And all this is going around in the churches. [for it repenteth me that I have made them.] It grieved God greatly that He created man because there was so much evil. We must understand that this goes beyond your typical sin, this was pure evil, barbarous type evil and sadly we are coming to evil like that now. One man out of millions not only believed in Him, he was faithful to Him. God decided to remove both man and beast from the earth, and repopulate it with Noah’s sons and their wived, which were a total of eight people.

[Genesis 6:14-19,22  Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.  15  And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.  16  A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.  17  And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.  18  But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.  19  And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 22  Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.]

[And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:] God commands Noah to build an ark, which means a box. Every detail of the Ark is a picture of Christ, and this is why they were counted among the saved as being righteous, their faith made them whole, [Mark 10:52  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.]

Think about what God was asking him to do, build a box that would hold his family and hundreds of animals because a flood was going to destroy the earth. Noah, and his family followed God’s commands to build the ark, and it actually took one hundred and twenty years to complete. In that time, I am sure people were mocking him, wondering why he was following commands from God when they saw no signs of Him whatsoever. Nevertheless, the Ark was built, and it was time to load it up. [Genesis 7:1-5  And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.  2  Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.  3  Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.  4  For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.  5  And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.]

[for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.] We must understand that this is not God saying that Noah was perfect, He is saying that he was faithful. God knows that we fail, but He also knows we who are faithful, and if we are faithful to Him we are going to do all that He commands, not according to the Law, but according to our faith. Jesus narrowed it down for us, [Mark 12:30-31  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  31  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.]

God’s faithful are not perfect by a longshot, but they love Him with all their heart, and it is through their actions that they find His favor, and incidentally, Christ as well. Up until this point there was no such thing as rain, but that was all about to change. It not only started to rain, the waters started gushing out everywhere.

[Genesis 7:11-16,22  In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.  12  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. 13  In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;  14  They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.  15  And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.  16  And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. 22  All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.]

[and the LORD shut him in.] It was God who shut the door of the Ark, it is only God who can give us life and it is only God who can take life, [Isaiah 64:8  But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.]

Twenty-two and a half feet, that is how high the waters reached over the tallest mountains. It really aggravates me when you see archaeologists find fossils in the mountains and somehow believe that they evolved that way over billions of years ago. Ridiculous people! Let me tell you, it is only the few and faithful from this generation that keeps God from destroying all the earth at this time. There is something rather incredible that we read in the next chapter, God remembered.

[Genesis 8:1-3,13,20-22  And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;  2  The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;  3  And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. 13  And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. 20  And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  21  And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.  22  While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.]

[And God remembered Noah,] God remembered His covenant or promise not only with Noah, but everyone and creature that was in the Ark. After a hundred and fifty days He stopped the rain and the waters began to dissipate. I imagine the time on the ark was full of emotions, the anticipation, the restlessness, the fear, and talk about cabin fever. God’s timing is everything, we may think we are ready for something, but God knows exactly what we need and when we need it. [And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD;] One year after the rain began and the flood destroyed the earth, the land was dry, and life was sustainable on it once again. God commands Noah and his family to come out of the ark and begin living on earth again, the very first thing he did was build an altar. While we do get caught up in the wake of God’s judgments, He will not punish all of us for what someone else does. He may not have understood why everything happened, or even what life would be like anymore, but He did understand that it was by God’s mercy and grace that he and his family were alive, [Luke 15:31-32  And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.  32  It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Genesis 7:16  And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.]

Today’s Prayer: God, You make it simple to have a blessed life here on earth, give ourselves willingly to You by accepting Your Son as our Saviour, and just be faithful to You. In doing so we not only get saved through our faith in Your Son, we receive Your favor, and that is truly amazing. I am humble to be one of the faithful and few who serve You continually, but it is not of my own doing, it is You who lives in me that I am who I am. Lord, lead me and guide me, fill me with Your grace, keep my heart open and tender as I deal with the floods of life with You, and let it always be willing to serve You however You lead me. In Your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
