Message: Put On Christ Daily

Hello My Friend,

I am a bit melancholy today, I have been struggling with some health issues and trying to get them at bay, and seem to be failing miserably, but praise God, I am starting to feel better. As I was reading the chapters for today it occurred to me how many times this week the world has mentioned God in attempt to get people to believe that their actions were justified by their faith. I was reminded by God this morning that anyone can look the part of a Christian, they can go church, pray, sing, give, and worship Him in public, but that does not mean He acknowledges any of it. You see, they can put on the pretty clothes that appear to look proper, but if they are not precise, then God will have nothing to do with them. So, what exactly are the garments we need? Christ. “Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” – Romans 13:13-14.

Having a place of worship was not enough, God was going to need some ministers to help Him so, that anyone wanting a relationship with God could do so, and literally be able to stand before Him without dying in their sin. God chose Aaron and his sons to be those ministers, whom He called priests, and this would go on for generations. God instructs Moses on the garments that they would wear to be able to minister to Him.

And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.” – Exodus 28:1-5.

and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother,” Notice the material used, each and every piece, down to the fabric used to make these clothes were made of the purest form, and for showing the glory and beauty of God. “gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.” The colors, and material used has a specific purpose and reasoning behind it, Gold represents the Deity of God; Blue; Heaven, Purple; Royalty, Scarlet; Sacrifice. And Fine linen; Personal righteousness. Now, up on the shoulders of the ephod were two stones, which would have engraved upon them the names of twelve sons of Israel (Jacob) “And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel: Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth. And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.” – Exodus 28:9-10,12.

and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.” Memorial; To preserve a memory. Every single time the high priest stood before God, God saw those names, and it was a reminder to Him that He made a promise to save and protect all who had come to Him for atonement. Aaron was their intercessor, just as Jesus is our intercessor, Jesus is more than a high priest, He is our atonement. Jesus bears all our infirmities, and when He: stands before God, the Father, He sees the names of every soul who received His Son, upon His shoulders (Romans 8:27). Now, we learn of the breastplate of judgment.

And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod. And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually. And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.” – Exodus 28:15,28-30.

the Urim and the Thummim;” Urim; Light, Thummim; Perfection. The breastplate of judgment was to put him in mind that he should do justice and judgment in the execution of His office. Jesus is the Light that we all look upon, and the Perfection that allows us to stand before God in righteousness. He stands before God on our behalf, to do justice and righteous judgment (John 7:24). “and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart,” Again, the names of the children of Israel were engraved, this time upon the breastplate that would be close to Aaron’s heart. Jesus holds each and every one of His people in His heart, and again, when He stands before God, the Father, He sees those names, not only up on His shoulders, but in His heart as well. There was another interesting thing that God instructed that the high priest needed to wear, a blue robe with a hem.

And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue. And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent. And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.” – Exodus 28:31-35.

and when he cometh out, that he die not.” It was important that one; the priest be heard coming toward God in order to minster to the people, two; that he had on all the proper garments, and three; that he leave with the same garments on with that he came in with. We must believe in and receive Christ as our Saviour before we can enter the holy place of God. And that faith must be the same until the day we take our last breath, otherwise, we will not be able to stand before Him and live. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:12-13

Now, it was not enough to have on the proper clothes, they had to be clean themselves, and this was not just a matter of washing themselves in water, they needed to be cleansed of their sin. You see, the priests were just like you and I, sinners, and in order to stand before God we need to be cleansed of our sin. And the only thing that cleanses us of sin is blood. God gives Moses the instructions on what the priests were to do in order to be cleansed of their sin so that they could both stand before God and be able to minister to the people.

And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish, And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.” – Exodus 29:1-7.

Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,” It took the blood of three animals in order for them to one; be forgiven of their sin, two; be cleansed of their sin, and three; be consecrated to be able to receive the sacrifices offered by the people. The bullock was the sin offering. “And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock. And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar. And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar. But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.” – Exodus 29:10-14.

it is a sin offering.” Jesus is our sin offering, He gave His perfect, spotless body upon the altar, which is the cross, in order for us to be forgiven of out sinning against Him. The first ram; this was the burnt offering, and would offered in its entirety, and be used for making an atonement with God. The second ram; was the consecration offering, and to be used for making them holy before the Lord to be able to minister to Him.

Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar. And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head. And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.” – Exodus 29:15-21.

it is a sweet savour,Anyone who enjoys the scent of a steak cooking on the grill can attest to the sweet smell that comes from the meat cooking. Jesus not only removes the sin, He literally sends the sweet savor of His flesh up the Father as a sort of peace offering. When God, the Father, accepts our faith by taking the blood of His Son upon us, His body sends up that sweet scent of cleanliness, and then God is pleased to accept us. “and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron,” Placing the blood on their right ear was to keep them attentive, the thumb was to keep them alert to what they were touching, the right toe was to keep them alter to where they were walking. Right always signifies doing what is actually right while left is always signifies what appears right, but is wrong (Matthew 7:21-23). This was not something that happened in one day, it took seven days for them to follow this procedure so that they could go into the tabernacle and minister before the people. And this is why they stayed there for two weeks. Once they were consecrated they were able to not only stand before God, but eat with Him, and fulfill their ministration duties. In addition to these, two lambs would be offered daily.

Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually. The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even: And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering. And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.” – Exodus 29:38-41,44-46.

And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation,This is why it is important to come to God daily, confessing sin. While we are saved, we do get dirty from sin, and just like Jesus said, even though we may be anointed with His blood, our feet get dirty and need to be washed (John 13:10). “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – I John 1:8-10.

Today’s Prayer: God, We know that there is nothing we can do or say to merit salvation, it is a free gift to all who believe in the ultimate price that Your Son paid for our sins. Thank You, Jesus, for giving Your life and saving my soul when I received Your blood upon my soul. And thank You also for cleansing me so that I may be able to stand before You in glory and perfection. Help me to be the faithful minister that You want me to be, give me the power to remove anything from my life that keep me from serving You with my whole heart. Lead me and guide me away from anything that defiles me, and fill me with Your mercy, grace, and the things that are acceptable to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
