Message: When God Speaks

Hello My Friend,

From the second God said, “Let there be light!” He makes things happen just as He says, and He will continue to do so for eternity. Sometimes we will see God make things happen in our lifetime on earth, but the majority of the time we are long gone before we see He fulfill His promises. So, why do we hold on to the promises of God when we may never see them ourselves? So future generations can see His glory and be ready to receive them. How do you think the Israelite’s felt when they heard Jesus was coming and died well before that happened? It is all about faith in God. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” – Hebrews 11:3,13.

We do not have to wait to get to heaven to see God give us the things, we can get them, we just need to have faith, keep serving God, and do what we can physically do with the guidance of the Holy Spirit guiding us to get it. Joshua waited until all the tribes got their part of the inheritance before he received his, he did not just receive any land, he received exactly what he asked for.

“And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages. When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them: According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein. These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.” – Joshua 19:47-51.

“therefore the children of Dan went up to fight” The tribe of Dan was not afraid to fight to get their land, we are to never be afraid to go after the things we desire. Of course, some things are harder to obtain, but God gives us everything according to His Word, the Holy Spirit will direct us on what it is that we need to do, many times all God is looking for is faith and our faithfulness. “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” – Philippians 3:14-15.

Refuge; a shelter or protection from danger, trouble, or anything to which one has support for aid, relief, or escape. There have been or will be times in our lives where we feel as though no one is on our side, that we are left to fend for ourselves and deal with something on our own. Now, God commanded that cities of refuge be given among the land they inherited for anyone who broke the law and feared for their lives.

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses: That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime. And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.” – Joshua 20:2-6.

“then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand;” Who is the true slayer? Satan, and he cannot stand that Jesus broke the curse of death when He went to the cross, was buried in the tomb, and came out alive. Satan will do anything to destroy life, but he is powerless against Jesus, the only one who can give and take life. “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” – Revelation 1:18.

The Levites patiently waited for all the tribes to receive their inheritance before going to Joshua and asking him for a places to reside. Since they were not given a part of the inheritance of the land God commanded that every tribe give a portion of theirs for them.

“Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel; And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle. And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs. And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.” – Joshua 21:1-3,43-45.

“There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken” When God speaks things happen, all of His promises, all of His warnings, and His judgment will come to pass. When we are faithful to Him He will never fail to provide for and take care of us. Trials come and go, but when we remain faithful to God through them, there is nothing He will not do for us. “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.” – II Thessalonians 3:3-5.

Jesus Christ Magnified: Today Jesus is revealed through Eleazar, the high priest. Jesus is our high priest and we are those who minister to Him. “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” – Hebrews 9:11,12.

Today’s Prayer: God, It is comforting to know that even if I mess up you will not disown me, but I do not want to be a child that just gets to receive Your inheritance because I am one of Yours. I want to prove myself to You, to show You how much I do love you, and to thank You for the sacrifice You made for me. While I know it is only by Your grace that I am saved and that nothing I do earns my salvation, I am willing to be the witness that so many can find rest through their trials with Your Son. Lord, help me to be reminded that You are my rest, and peace through my trials as well, and that all things work out together for good. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
