Message: Who Has Ears To Hear?

Hello My Friend,

Hear; To attend; to listen; to obey. Jesus often said in some form when He preached, [Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.] We all have done it, heard someone speaking, but really did not hear, or rather understood what they were saying. The Bible is designed in a way that every time you read it, even if you have read a passage a thousand times, you learn something new. However, that only applies to those whom are actually hearing what they are reading. First of all, we must be believe, so many read the Bible with unbelief, all they see God as is this cruel tyrant that brought all this evil in the world. And second, we must be saved. People who are said to be Bible scholars read the Bible and have no clue what they are saying because they are not saved. Salvation only comes by hearing Jesus speaking to you when the Gospel is preached to you, and then inviting Him into your life, [Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.]

[and open the door,] That door is where your heart is, Jesus knocks on the door of every heart, but it is only those whom hear Him knocking and open the door by asking Him to save them that He comes into their heart. A parable is a short story that contains an important message, people often use parables to explain something that one might not understand outright. Since the world is ignorant to the whole concept of heaven and hell, or the better word would be skeptical, Jesus often spoke about it in parables, many of them are regarding seeds. In this parable, Jesus tells a story about seeds that have been sown into different types of soil.

[Matthew 13:2-9  And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.  3  And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;  4  And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:  5  Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:  6  And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.  7  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:  8  But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.  9  Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.]

[Who hath ears to hear,] Did you know that we are deaf to Jesus until our heart ready to invite Him in as our Saviour? I grew up a Catholic, we learned about Jesus, His death was more observed that His birth, but I did not know what it meant to have Jesus as my Saviour because we were never taught that. It was not until my heart started inquiring about God that Jesus started knocking on its door and I heard Him as though He were standing right in front of me. Now, as the disciples listen to these stories, they came right out and asked Jesus why He spoke in parables.

[Matthew 13:10-13,16-17,34  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?  11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.  12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.  13  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.  17  For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 34  All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:]

[Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,] What are the mysteries? The Gospel and everything else in between that God want to reveal to believers. If you do not believe that the Bible is true, then God will not reveal anything to you. If you only believe that part of the Bible is true, then God will not reveal very much, if anything at all to you. In order to come to Jesus we must believe that every word is true, [I Corinthians 2:6-10  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:  7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.]

We are all born with the knowledge of God in us when we are born, believe it or not, God has predestinated that all should know His Son, and be saved. The truth is, most do not because they have hardened their heart from hearing the truth, even though it is spoken to them. Jesus goes on to explain what the parable means.

[Matthew 13:18-23  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.  19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.  20  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;  21  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.  22  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.  23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.]

[then cometh the wicked one,] It is the devil who fills the heart with so much pride, envy, and hate that it cannot see or hear the truth of the Gospel. Then there are those who hear the word for a time then bolt they second they are asked to get saved. And then there are those who get saved, are on fire for Jesus when things are going well, then bolt when affliction comes, because they were not grounded in the Word of God. It is funny how the religious always pride themselves on their good deeds, but God is rarely mentioned, yet still believe they are going to heaven. Now, do not beat yourself up if you do not understand a parable right, God does not always reveal things to us when we are first introduced to them because He waits until our heart is ready. Jesus often had to explain the parables to His disciples, which brings us to another parable about seeds.

[Matthew 13:24-30  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:  25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.  26  But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.  27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?  28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?  29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.  30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.]

[An enemy hath done this.] This time the seeds represent Jesus Himself and the devil, Jesus being the wheat, and the devil being the tares or weeds. Now, the disciples had a hard time understanding this parable so they asked Jesus to explain, [Matthew 13:36-40  Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.  37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;  38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;  39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.  40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.]

[so shall it be in the end of this world.] No one wants to believe that the world will end, why do you think they go through such great lengths to try and save it? Jesus is going to send His angels to destroy this planet, but He is not leaving His believers with no where to go. In fact, He is in heaven right now preparing the place where we will spend eternity, while all these things are going on, we will be safe up in the clouds until the new heaven and earth will suddenly appear and we will live forever, [Revelation 21:1-4  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.] Amen!

Today’s Prayer: God, I love the amazing miracle that happens when a seed grows into something beautiful, but I also see the destruction that weeds do to that beauty. Lord, I want to live a life that produce good, sustainable fruit, not corruptible weeds. Give me Your power, wisdom, and guidance to be fruitful, give me an open and willing heart, and let me not be corrupted by the weeds that try to destroy every good fruit You produced in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
