Message: Our Father

Hello My Friend,

Some people are content to go through life not really knowing anything, they have limited comprehension of the things of the world and are happy just living their lives like that. Others, love to learn about everything and anything. The problem with learning, is the more you know the more responsibility you have, which is why it is sometimes easier to live life not knowing so much. You know, there is a very good reason why God does not want us to know everything, there are some things in life that are just too hard for us to understand as we are filled with so much emotion in these bodies of ours. Which is why we cannot rely on our own comprehension of things that are way above our heads, rather what God sees fit to let us know about. [Psalms 131:1-3  A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.  2  Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.  3  Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.]

[Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.] Remember, there are three different categories of Israel, there is Israel who are the children or descendants of Israel, his name is also Jacob, then there is Israel the country, and Israel the nation, which is actually one group of people who are a family, that is descended from a multitude of different families, also known as a tribe, yet have one father. In other words, the nation of Israel is a family of people from every country all over the world who have One Father, God Himself. Keep in mind that not all the children of Israel are the nation of Israel because in order for you to be a child of God you need to have faith in Jesus Christ, [Romans 8:14-17  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.]

When we are dependent upon God we have no desire for the things of the world, but our Father gives them liberally to us when we follow Him. I do not recall one person since Moses to teach the next generation the importance of following the Law and making sure things were set in order before he died, but David did, and he was going to make sure everything was set for Solomon to reign as a Godly king. He sets in order the priest’s.

[I Chronicles 24:3-6,19  And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.  4  And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.  5  Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.  6  And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar. 19  These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.]

[according to their offices in their service.] David knew enough through God’s Word to know that the priests were the ones who took care of the inside of the sanctuary, the high priests being the ones who received the sacrifices. Before the priests took the sacrifices they had to go through a rigorous procedure to be cleansed of their own sin first. You see, the priests had the same sin nature as we do, they often fell into sin and some fell away from God too. It is easy to fall away from God when we do not constantly have contact with God, even strong Christian’s can, but thanks to God’s mercy and grace He does not forsake us. We might have to suffer a bit because our Father loves us way too much to let us live a life that will lead to a slow and painful death from sin. And yes, all sin leads to death, so, we can worship and praise God for His mercy endures.

[Psalms 138:1-2,6-8  A Psalm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.  2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.  3  In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.  6  Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.  7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.  8  The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.]

[Though I walk in the midst of trouble,] For years I use to avoid God because I was taught (thanks to false religion) that everything wrong that I ever did I must confess it or end up in hell. Since I had no recollection of everything I did wrong, and would end up in hell if I did do anything wrong I could not face Him. Well, praise God I was taught the truth, and that God does not work that way, as much as we try, we are still trouble, we do not even have to look for it, if comes right to us. And yet, our Father is faithful and just to forgive us of all the trouble we get into, and will even help us out of it. And while we do need to confess our sin, unless it is something that God brings to our attention, we just need to ask Him to forgive us where we failed Him, [I John 1:8-10  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.]

[and his word is not in us.] Do you see that? While we do not need God’s Word to teach us that God exists and that sin exists for that matter, we do need it to know what is sin. And while not everything that is sinful is written in the Word of God, it gives us a good example of what is right and wrong. Also, the Holy Spirit will tell you when something is wrong, immediately actually. If we want to see God’s full potential then we need to never be satisfied with just knowing we are saved, we need to show our love to Him by praise, worship, dedication, and being obedient to His Word. Of course, we cannot lose our salvation by not doing any of these things, but we will never know everything that our Father has waiting for us if we are content just to stay where we are. Now, David loved music, he even made sure that the choir and band leaders knew their jobs.

[I Chronicles 25:1-2,5-8  Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:  2  Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.  5  All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.  6  All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.  7  So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.  8  And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.]

[according to the king’s order to Asaph,] Many of the Psalms were written by Asaph or addressed to him by David, music has a deep impact in our lives, it is what moves and shakes us, it can anger us or make us sad, but it is also what can lift us up. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with life that the only way we can even talk to God is through song, and let me tell you He hears that too. As long as we talk to Him He listens, no matter what we are going through, He is right there. Some things in life are just far too hard to comprehend, we cannot run, and we cannot hide, but we can trust our Father, and depend on His infinite wisdom.

[Psalms 139:1-10  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.  2  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.  3  Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.  4  For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.  5  Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.  6  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.  7  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  8  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.  9  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;  10  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.]

[Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;] Do you understand that no matter where we are, God is there? If we are saved and our body die right now, then we will see our Father in heaven. Those who are not saved, if they were to die right now, will see God up in heaven, but they will be in hell, [Luke 16:19-26]. Yes, all this knowledge is much for us to comprehend, but all we need to know is that Christ is the way to heaven. And this is why our being good or bad has nothing to do with our salvation, God knows who we are from conception.

[Psalms 139:13-18,23-24  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.  14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  15  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  16  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.  17  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!  18  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. 23  Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  24  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.]

[when I awake, I am still with thee.] Our Father, knows what we have done, and He knows what we are going to do. He has the plan and purpose for our lives, a beginning and an end, but it us up to us to make the best of the middle, He is going to challenge us to bring us to our full potential, we cannot run or hide, we can reject Him, but there is no escape, so, embrace Him, trust Him, and lean on His understanding. And in order to see what we are capable of in the mighty hands of God, it is important that we live our lives solely dependent upon His Word, [II Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.]

Today’s Prayer: God, My Father, There is something comforting in knowing that everything is under Your control, through my faith in Your Son I know where my future lies. Yes, the path to getting there comes with challenges, questions, and sometimes learning things that are too wonderful for us. I know in order for me to see Your full potential I have to show You mine. Lord, Lead me and guide me, prepare my heart, open it, and let it be willing to learn what my full potential is as I study Your Word. As I allow the Holy Spirit to work in me, keep me in Your Word and will, serving You wholeheartedly, not of obligation, but to honor and thank You for the great sacrifice You made in saving me from my sins and hell. I also as for Your mercy, grace, and power to get back in Your will should I get off track. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
