Message: One Saviour From The Beginning
Hello My Friend,
My mom is coming home today and I am both excited and nervous at the same time as I do not know just how much she can handle, what she remembers, or how I am going to get her up the steps. It is actually making me quite anxious and the more anxious I get the more God keeps telling me to calm down with the reminder that He is in control, [2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.]
I just learned that the last section of the Book of Isaiah has been called the Book of Comfort as it not only foretells the coming of Christ, but gives comfort to His believers as they await the day of His return. As we continue in the reading of Isaiah, we learn that that Christ Himself is speaking through much of it.
[Isaiah 40:1-5 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins. 3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.]
[hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.] Every saved, born again Christian needs to see that not only Israel, but every nation has be judged doubly for their sin from the righteous, just, and almighty God, but they too can be pardoned through Christ. Jesus, gave His life for all souls, even those who chanted, “Crucify Him!”, not because they deserve it, but because their souls are headed straight for hell. Jesus, said it this way, [John 3:18-19 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.]
[Prepare ye the way of the LORD,] These are words to live by because we all need to be prepared for Jesus, but incredibly we are given the prophecy here of John the Baptist, who was the forerunner to introduce believers to the Messiah, Jesus Christ Himself, [Matthew 3:1-3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.]
[for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.] One can choose to deny the fact that God is true, and that His Word is true, but that does not change the fact that it is. We do not need to physically see God to know that He exists, and that every word He speaks is true and does come to pass. As Isaiah continues, we learn that common sense tells us that He not only exists, but has created everything at the drop of a bucket.
[Isaiah 40:13-15,18,21 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? 14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? 15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. 18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? 21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?]
[the nations are as a drop of a bucket,] Wow! I always thought that this was just a cliche, but just like everything else that the world has gotten from Scripture and made it into a worldly thing this has too. Just think about it, nations and nations of people who have come and gone in world from the time that God created man and they really are like a drop of water dripping from a faucet into a bucket of water and imagine that it is huge bucket and yet there is only one nation of God’s people from all over the world since creation. Jesus, said it this way, [John 10:14-16 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.]
Man made nations are formed by the countries that they are born into or abide it, and they will come and go like the wind. God’s nation on the other hand, is not a country, they are a people of God actually, made up from people of all nations, whom not only believe the Scriptures, but follow and accept them for the truths that they are. Any belief in God other than the truth from the unaltered Bible is creating another god. God, will actually only reveal Himself to true believers.
[Isaiah 40:26–31 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. 27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.]
[there is no searching of his understanding.] God’s understanding truly is unlike anything we will ever comprehend, but we do not need to search for it. He will reveal to us what He wants to reveal, He will also keep things from us that we really do not need to know. However, we do not always need understanding, what we often need is peace, which Jesus gives us, [Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.]
In most religions today, God’s Word, has been replaced by so called “holy books”. Their doctrine may have some similarities, but has not one thing to do with God’s Word. Every single book including the Quran, Sunday Missal, Book of Mormon, and New World Translation, was made up by someone who read the Bible and came up with their own understanding of it. And they wonder why God is so angry? Well, they actually believe that they are the ones who are right and we are the fools. So, here is Israel, it has fallen by the wayside, gotten caught up in sin, and God is not even a thought. And here is Judah, God’s faithful, buy they have lost their fear of God and became even more corrupt than Israel. They thought that their sins were hidden, but through Isaiah, God reminds them that no sin is secret nor goes unpunished.
[Isaiah 41:1,4-6,8 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. 4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. 5 The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came. 6 They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. 8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.]
[I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.] Does this sound familiar? It should, again, if you are reading your Bible it would. Jesus, said this to the Apostle John when he about fell over after He showed up when he was a prisoner stuck on an island, [Revelation 1:17-18 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.]
It is truly beyond our comprehension to think that all we have to do is accept that Christ, our Shepherd, has done all the work for us to be redeemed from our sins simply by believing in and receiving Him as our Saviour. We do not need to question, all we need to do is accept it, and once we do that we will find out that there is no greater strength than what we get from Christ. God, is in control of all things, He might let us choose how we live, but there is not one thing He does not know about and if we trust Him we will get more than we ever asked for.
[Isaiah 41:10,13-14,16-17 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. 14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel. 17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.]
[I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.] The Holy One of Israel, Jesus Christ Himself, and our Creator by the way, is the only one who can save a soul headed for hell, with His righteousness we are made righteous, [Romans 5:18-21 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.]
[Fear not, thou worm Jacob,] [Worm; Remorse; that which incessantly gnaws the conscience; that which torments; being debased and despised.] We might think of a worm as this creepy crawly insect, but when we discover just how much of a sinner we are we really do feel like worms. Thankfully, when we find Christ we not only learn how valuable our soul is to Him, but that we belong to Him forever, [Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.]
While God did choose Israel to be His witness to His saving grace, He never intended for it to be just them, He wants all people to believe in, and accept Him. Through Isaiah, God, goes on to describe the day that Jesus comes and opens the door of salvation to the Gentiles.
[Isaiah 42:1-4,6,8 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. 4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.]
[A bruised reed shall he not break,] By His bruised reed, He opens up the eyes of sin and hell to the blind. By His bruised reed, He sets all who come to Him free from the judgment of sin. By His bruised reed, He will go forth as a mighty man and prevail against His enemies. By His bruised reed, He will not give His glory to any other! It is only through the Lord, Jesus Christ, that we are called into righteousness, and He will not give His glory to Buddha, Mohammad, or any other false prophet. Christ is the light of the world, the one who takes us out of the darkness of sin, [1 Peter 2:9-10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.]
When Christ came here the first time He did not deal harshly with those that rejected Him or even crucified Him. With all His gentleness and meekness He showed empathy and compassion on the lost, beginnings of His grace, comforting and healing those who found themselves to be worms. However, there will come a day when He will be meek no longer. Through Isaiah we are told of the day of His vengeance.
[Isaiah 42:13-17 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. 14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once. 15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools. 16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. 17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.]
[they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images,] God, is angry at the Jews for their rejecting His Son, and also for their contempt of His Gospel. God, is angry at the Gentiles for their distorting and changing His Gospel. When Jesus returns, He will destroy and devour those whom have sent potential believers to hell with their lies as well as all those who trusted in the false gods and religions. Nevertheless, those whom have trusted His Son as their Saviour will not face any of this.
[Isaiah 43:1,4-7 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; 7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.]
[Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name;] God, knows every single name of those who, have accepted His Son as their Saviour. God, used Israel to show that the most hardhearted, stiff necked people can turn their fate around when they believe in and call on the only living God. The same is true for the Christian today, we are not saved by our works, but by believing in our Saviour, our God, our King and Creator, our LORD, Jesus Christ. Through Isaiah, we are confirmed of this.
[Isaiah 43:10-12,18-19 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. 18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.]
[I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.] It does not matter if you were born at the time that God created the earth until now, since sin brought the curse of death upon Adam, and His descendants, of whom we all are, there has only been only One Saviour and that is the LORD. Through Isaiah, God reminds Israel that He created them and they are His people, but if you read carefully you will see that He was not only talking about the children of Israel here, but the nation of Israel as well, who include the Gentiles.
[Isaiah 43:21-26 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. 22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. 23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense. 24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. 25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. 26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.]
[But thou hast not called upon me…thou hast been weary of me,] If they are going to believe the lies, after time and time of attempting to show them the truth, then God will give them up. Jesus Christ Himself, not only saves us from judgment, He gives us the strength to overcome even the earthly judgments we face for our own sin, but if we do not call upon Him as our Saviour then there is no hope, [Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.]
Jesus Christ Revealed/Magnified: [Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.]
Today’s Prayer: God, You truly are the Almighty God, time and time again You have proven that You are the only Living God, Creator of all things, and the center of the earth. I know that it is only through my belief in You, the entire Gospel of Your Son, and accepting Him as my Saviour that I am one of Yours. Lord, Let me never forget the joy of my salvation and what you have brought me out of. Work in the hearts of those who are struggling and help them know the joy and comfort that I have as I declare You as my LORD. Open my heart, and eyes to serve you in sincerity and truth, and let me be a faithful witness of Your Son living inside of me. I love you Lord and ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
