Message: Come To Jesus For Cleansing

Hello My Friend,

[Cleanse; To purify; to make clean; to remove filth. To free from a foul or infectious disease; to heal. To free from ceremonial pollution, to consecrate for holy use. To remove a crime from a record]. There are so many meanings to the word cleanse, but if you ever taken a shower after a being sweaty and stinky, you can get a good ideal of what it feels like to be cleansed of the filth that sin soils our soul with until we come to Jesus, and ask Him to be our Saviour. We are no longer stinky to God, in fact, we give off that sweet smelling scent of His Son’s blood. Amen! And because we are clean we are able to go to our Father at any time because it is not us that pleads our cause for us, it is Jesus Himself, [John 16:26-27  At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:  27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.]

When we first get saved we immediately feel that cleansing power as the weight of every sin is lifted. Then we feel that cleansing even more when we follow with believers baptism. Even though we are saved, we do tend to become dirty with life throwing its mud at us. This is why we go to church, read our Bible, pray, and confess our sins, we need to, as Jesus says, wash our feet from the world that soils us. Church really is the backbone of our faith, it is where we go for fellowship, healing, direction, correction, to reconcile, and make peace with God. Never underestimate the power of the Church, and I am not talking about a building, I am talking about the Church, Christ’s Church. In order for the Church to function well it needs a staff to help in the upkeep of the church, and it is God who appoints each and every duty. Now, after the fiasco with the rebellion and death of so many of the Israelites since being told they could not go into the promised land for forty years, God reconfirmed Aaron’s authority and his sons as priests, plus the responsibilities that the rest of the Levites would have.

[Numbers 18:1-4  And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.  2  And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.  3  And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.  4  And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.]

[that neither they, nor ye also, die.] Anyone can walk into a church, sit down, sing the hymns, hear the prayers, listen to the sermons, but unless they have received Christ, they a polluted. Those who are polluted are not a member of the Church, therefore, anything they touch would pollute the rest of the Church, even if it is done with good intention. This is why they cannot approach God, they will die if they do not come to Christ first, [John 6:39-40  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.]

When God chose the Levites to be the tribe to serve Him in His ministry, He did not chose them because they were more righteous than the rest. In fact, it was the Levites who rebelled against God first when He told them they could not enter the promised land just yet. He chose them because there needed to be someone set apart from the rest of the tribes who understood the Law and could teach it to them. God explains this further.

[Numbers 18:5,8-13  And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel. 8  And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.  9  This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.  10  In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.  11  And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.  12  All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee.  13  And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.]

[that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.] You see, this is why God sent Jesus to be the one to save us. If He left it up to us to get to heaven on our own, then we would all be fighting over who was the better person, who would be in charge, and who would get what. God made it simple, One Way, One Truth, and One Life, [John 14:6-7  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.]

[every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.] This is the same as communion, not matter what position we hold, we are all the same in God’s eyes, we cannot partake of the bread and wine of what Jesus unless we are clean, [I Corinthians 11:26-29  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  27  Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  28  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.  29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.]

The second we receive Christ as our Saviour we belong to God, we are now part of His inheritance, and God will always provide for us. However, being saved does not keep us from being exposed to sin and the elements of the world that soil our mind, body, and spirit, even if we have not sinned ourselves. As we walk this earth and the journey we take many things will soil our flesh, which is why we need to come to Christ every day for a cleansing. While God allowed ordinary fresh water as a means to cleanse the flesh of its impurities, a special water, known as the water of separation, in addition to the normal offerings was used to cleanse their soul.

[Numbers 19:2-6  This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:  3  And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:  4  And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:  5  And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:  6  And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.]

[her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:] Seven is the number of completion. Jesus is the one who completes us, He is the one who offered Himself wholly to His Father, He is the one who cleanses our soul, [Hebrews 9:11-13  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;  12  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  13  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:]

Now, it was not the sacrifice in this case that cleansed them, it was the water, which was made from the ashes of that came from the sacrifice. [Numbers 19:9,17-20  And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin. 17  And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:  18  And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:  19  And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.  20  But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.]

[the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.] Did you notice that anyone who touched the heifer or ashes was defiled and had to be washed and separated from the congregation for a time? We are exposed to sin all day long, and that is why it is necessary that we take some time to cleanse ourselves in the water of God’s Word, [Ephesians 5:26-27  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Numbers 19:5-6  And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:  6  And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your Word that teaches us everything about You. We do not need a special degree to understand You, we just need faith in You. As we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by Your Word, let us meditate upon Your Word so that we are able to know how to handle the evils of this world. You are truly the One who meets all our needs. There is nothing we lack when we commit our faith and trust in You and obey Your commands. Lord, lead us and guide us, keep our hearts open so that we may follow Your will, and receive all You have for us, and let us not get deceived by disbelief. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
