Study: Ignorance Is Not Bliss

Hello My Friend,

I read an article that said forty-four percent of American believers believe that Christ sinned while He was here on earth. Another article said that Mary was born without sin as well, which enabled her to be able to carry Christ. And the ignorance continues, as I read another article that said that because the virgin birth was only written in two of the four gospels that the account of an immaculate conception was only written in after Christ’s death to make Him look special and cannot be proved, and these are all so called Bible scholars. I tell you what, if they say that ignorance is bliss, I sure would not want to be one of these ignorant who started all this as they will stand before Jesus and give their account, right before getting cast into the lake of fire. You cannot believe that one account in the Bible is true and not something else, questioning the accuracy of the Bible brings into question all of it, and I think I have to agree with Paul.

[I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. – Galatians 1:6-10]

True believers will not question the accuracy of the Bible at all, again, if one account is questioned, it brings into question all of it, and of the account of God Himself. You see, if they bring Jesus down to the level that we are, then they do not have to admit that their sin has consequence. As we return to the reading of 1 Chronicles, more accounts are given to the tribes of Israel,

[Now the sons of Issachar were, Tola, and Puah, Jashub, and Shimron, four. The sons of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and Jediael, three. The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah. The sons of Manasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare: (but his concubine the Aramitess bare Machir the father of Gilead: And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered his son, and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his son, The sons of Asher; Imnah, and Isuah, and Ishuai, and Beriah, and Serah their sister. – 1 Chronicles 7:1,6,13,20,30]

[The sons of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and Jediael, three.] There are only a few mentioned here, but since this is the lineage from which Saul came, it gets detailed more in the next chapter. [the sons of Bilhah.] This was a concubine of Jacob’s, who his second wife Rachel had given her to him to have children with her since her sister had so many and she could not have any at the time. Dan, was also Bilhah’s son, and his descendants are not accounted for. This is due to their idolatry during the time of Judges.

[In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought them an inheritance to dwell in; for unto that day all their inheritance had not fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel. And the children of Dan sent of their family five men from their coasts, men of valour, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to search it; and they said unto them, Go, search the land: who when they came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, they lodged there. And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land. – Judges 18:1-2,30]

Micah, actually was of the sons of Ephraim, he is not accounted for either because he and his mother made the first idol since the golden calf that Aaron had made, [And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah. And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee. Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah. And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest. – Judges 17:1,3-4-5]

It actually makes more sense to discover why God had separated Judah and Benjamin among the rest of the tribes, and how Jeroboam, who is of Ephraim, came up with the idols that he had made and started the path that would lead the majority of Israel away from God. Notice how these false religions will mimic true religion with their false priests and buildings of worship that look so much like the real ones. This is why we must always make sure we know the doctrine they are teaching.

[But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. – 2 Corinthians 11:3-4,13-15]

Now, as we go into the next chapter, the account of Benjamin gets more detailed first, because it joined and kept close with Judah in the worship of God, and also went into captivity into Babylon with them. The account of Saul is made solely for the purpose of his posterity as being the first king of Israel, which ended quickly.

[Now Benjamin begat Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, and Aharah the third, Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth. And the sons of Bela were, Addar, and Gera, and Abihud, And Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah, And Gera, and Shephuphan, and Huram. And Mikloth begat Shimeah. And these also dwelt with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against them. And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal. And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal; and Meribbaal begat Micah. And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz. – 1 Chronicles 8:1-5,32-35]

[and Eshbaal. And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal;] Eshbaal is Ishbosheth, he was the one that Abner make king before David became king in all of Israel. Meribbaal, is Mephibosheth, he would become a prominent figure in David’s life, giving him a place to dine at the kings table, which was a very big honor. Mephibosheth, was crippled due to an accident, but that did not hold David back from blessing him and his family, [Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. – 2 Samuel 9:6-7]

Now, as we finally come to the close of all the names of all the Jews accounted for we are given an explanation as to why they were written in here to begin with, they were returning from Babylon after seventy years.

[So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression. Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims. And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh; Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah. – 1 Chronicles 9:1-4]

[the children of Pharez the son of Judah.] The Chronicle books are actually Judah’s history book up until what is known as the dark ages, which were the four hundred years that no prophet was heard of until John the Baptist was born, [Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. – Malachi 4:5-6]

This is how God dealt with Judah through their faithfulness as well as their unfaithfulness until Christ would come. Why them? Well, this tribe is where Jesus would descend from, [The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias; And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon: And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel; And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. – Matthew 1:1,5-6,11-12,15-16]

Notice how the account given to Judah ,in regards to where Jesus would descend ,also gives an account of Pharez, who came to be through a bizarre occurrence, Ruth, the Moabite, whom Boaz (Booz) became the kinsman-redeemer to preserve Judah, as well as Bathsheba, of whom David had an affair with and later on would have several children with, including Solomon. It also makes sure to point out that Joseph is not Jesus’ father, only that he was married to Mary, [And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. – Luke 1:26-27]

All of this makes it a point to remind us that our earthly family is made up of a melting pot of people, some good, some bad, some not even worth mentioning because they were so wicked. We can thank God that He does not define us by how we are conceived. In fact, it proves even further that God knows what He is doing, when it comes to conception. For instance, while no woman wants to be raped, if a baby came as a result, God can use a baby conceived that way to both strengthen the woman and child should the woman get past the pain and have the baby. Oh, and keep in mind that it is not in God’s will to have someone raped, that is the devil’s doing. When God allows Satan to afflict us, He does not give him specifics, Satan alone is behind wicked evil.

[Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. – John 8:42-44,47]

Anyone who questions the immaculate birth, or even has the foolishness in them to believe that Mary was not without sin is not of God at all, you cannot believe in Christ’s sinless death and not believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who impregnated her. Neither can you believe that Mary was without sin because there was only one person born without sin and that was Jesus. Mary, was a godly woman, which is why God had chosen her, but she was not without sin, she gave her sacrifices just like they all did.

[And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.- Luke 2:21-24]

Do you understand why it was important that Jesus not have an earthly father? We, being descendants of Adam, are born into sin due to the curse that was placed on us through their sin. I know it is not fair that we should suffer for the sin of our fathers, but there are always consequences to sin, and most of the time, as you can see, its affect impacts everyone. The truth is this, no matter how much God’s Word is torn apart and distorted on the earth to make up their own image of God or Jesus for that matter, it is still written in heaven, and there is no changing it. Those who believe the fools, their refusal to believe the truth is what will send them to hell, and their sole reason for believing the lie was to please their own flesh.

[For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. – Hebrews 4:2-3]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for giving us a way to escape the dreaded judgment placed upon every soul born in this world. We do not have to be good to be saved, we just have to believe that Your sinless Son, born of a virgin, saved us. It is so amazing and simple that all we need to do is receive Christ, yet so many people are ignorant to that fact. Thank You, Jesus! Lord, Thank You for your mercy, for it is in Your mercy that I am not given the punishment I deserve, and there is nothing I can do that will change that. Lead me and guide me, give me Your power and wisdom to know Your will. Keep me in Your Word, learning, standing by it, and teaching it to those who are willing to hear it. Cover me with Your mercy and grace to follow through until the day You bring me home. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
