Message: I Must Tell Jesus

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading the chapters for today, and feeling a little overwhelmed myself, this song came to mind, [I Must Tell Jesus I must tell Jesus all of my trials; I cannot bear these burdens alone; In my distress He kindly will help me; He ever loves and cares for His own. I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus! I cannot bear my burdens alone; I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus! Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.]

This Christian life is not one that turns void, the blessings from God are endless when we trust Him and are faithful, in fact, He is faithful and just to cleanse us of all our unrighteousness and supply our every need. Then there are times when burdens start to come, not just one, but several, you lose a job, get a cut in pay, get sick, get falsely accused, get deceived, get double billed, all at the same time while you are trying to take care of family, church, and your own needs. Burdens are not punishments from God, they are windows of opportunity that God uses to get His faithful to give and trust their burdens to Him alone. I Must Tell Jesus! Jesus Can Help Me, Jesus Alone!, [Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.]

So, let me tell you, the people in our lives and how they handle their own trials and tribulations play a key factor in our own faith. Not in the sense that we lose our faith in God, but that we lose our faith in God releasing us from those burdens. Sometimes I just chalk them all up as being something that I caused on my own and must suffer with, after all, I am getting less than I deserve. However, God does not actually see it as we see it, thank God for that. It is the trails and tribulations that actually increase our faith and trust in Him as we trust Him to lift them. There is a difference between trust and lust, trust always satisfies, it fills us with hope, and joy, even if all we get from God is our daily bread. Lust never satisfies, it always leaves us hungry, and actually despising the very things that we receive from God. As the Israelites headed for the promised land, some of the people with them started to bring discord among them with their constant complaint of only receiving manna.

[Numbers 11:1-6  And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.  2  And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.  3  And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.  4  And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?  5  We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:  6  But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.]

[We remember the fish,] It is not uncommon for us to start thinking about the things that we left behind when we decided to follow Jesus, especially when it seems that what we are receiving not enough. When we get that way, we need to start counting those blessings that God is giving us right now, and since we entrusted our soul to Him. Shoes on our feet, clothes on our back, bread to eat, water, a bed to sleep in, Jesus, who’s grace is sufficient enough to carry us through every infirmity, sickness, and pain. We are more blessed than we realize, and if we stop and think about just wretched we were before we gave our lives to Christ, we would see that even then He was there preparing us for when we would receive Him, [Romans 8:28-30  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.]

As I said earlier, the people in our lives play a factor in our faith, when they are always complaining about God, or their faithfulness to God is not as willing as ours, discouragement can come. Discouragement will tears us down quickly, even if we have great faith, we will start asking God why He has placed these people in our lives. Moses did, as faithful as he was to God, and as strong as his faith, he got discouraged and asked God why He placed such a heavy burden on him.

[Numbers 11:10-14,16-17  Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.  11  And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?  12  Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?  13  Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.  14  I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. 16  And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.  17  And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.]

[Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant?] I can relate to how Moses feels, I keep asking Him the same thing right now, I feel cheated, deceived, ashamed, and as though I have let God down. When all our efforts to love, teach, and reach the ones God entrusts us fails we feel as though we have failed. However, we must realize that we are not the ones who failed God, they are through their disbelief. [and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee,] God heard Moses, and answered his prayer by giving him some help. God does not want us to carry our burdens all alone, He wants us to trust Him, to give it all to Him, and say, “I Must Tell Jesus! Jesus Can Help Me, Jesus Alone!” [I Peter 5:6-7  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.]

Those who constantly complain need to stop right there, because God will answer their complaint. If they despised the manna and wanted more, then God would give it to them, [Numbers 11:18-23  And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.  19  Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;  20  But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?  21  And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.  22  Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?  23  And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.]

[and it be loathsome unto you:] Again, lust never satisfies, in fact, it brings us to despise those things when we do get them even more than the desire that we had for them. God has a never ending supply to help us with whatever it is that we need, we never starve with Him, even if all we get is bread and water. If we are not thankful for what He does give us, we cannot expect Him to bless us beyond that. It is not what we ask for that God he turns His back to, it is how we ask for it, [James 4:2-3  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.  3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.]

[whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.] Do you see how their lack of faith, their lusts, their ungratefulness causes us to not only be discouraged, but put doubt in our faith as well? God has never failed in fulfilling what He says He will before and He will never fail now. Whenever, my faith is tried like this, and to be honest, it is more often than I care to admit, I remember what the man who came to Jesus said to Him when He told him what his lack of faith could not do, and ask Jesus the same thing, [Mark 9:23-24  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.  24  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.]

When we are faithful to God He truly blesses us, and others see it, and it is not uncommon for Christians to be jealous of other Christians, especially if they see them being blessed through what they see as something sinful. Remember the Law stated that a Levite had to be married to a Levite? Aaron and Miriam were complaining among themselves over Moses being married to an Ethiopian woman, God heard them, and was not pleased.

[Numbers 12:1-2,5-10,13-15  And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.  2  And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.  5  And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.  6  And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.  7  My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.  8  With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?  9  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.  10  And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. 13  And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.  14  And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.  15  And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.]

[With him will I speak mouth to mouth,] There is nothing more uplifting than to be able to speak to God mouth to mouth. I may not do everything right, and often fail God in my attempt to carry my burdens alone, or even worse, add to the burden because I failed at carry it alone. That is okay, because I can go to God and speak to Him mouth to mouth whenever I do give it all over to Him, and trust that He is the one to carry me through, [Psalms 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.]

[If her father had but spit in her face,] Spitting was an act of showing disgust toward someone who offended or disrespected them, if a parent found disgust in their child they would spit in their face or near the ground, and since that was considered unclean they had to be separated from society for seven days. Miriam was upset about the fact that Moses had authority over her, she thought that since she and Aaron were older and prophets also that they also had a say in the leadership of the people. What she failed to realize was that God Himself gave Moses the orders on what to do, so, when she questioned Moses because he was married to a stranger God took it personally as if she was questioning Him. God will defend His faithful, and He will make sure all know that He is faithful to those who are faithful to Him, [II Corinthians 1:21-22  Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;  22  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Numbers 11:16-17  And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.  17  And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.]

Today’s Prayer: God, I know You have great plans for me, much greater than anything I envision in myself, but in order for me to see them unfold I need Your complete trust and faith. Although I cannot always see Your hand, I know You are there carrying me along, just like You promise You would until I reach the promised land. Sometimes the burdens do overwhelm me because I try to take them on myself instead of handing them over to You so that you can not only carry me through them, but get me the help I need, even with all the doubts along the way. Lord, lead me and guide me, give me Your power, mercy, and grace to get through every burden, for they are too heavy for me on my own. I give them all over to You, and ask You to keep me faithful, grateful, and thankful for everything You supply me with, even if it is only bread. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
