Message: God Will Not Be Mocked

Hello My Friend,

There is something incredible about seeing God work in our lives, especially when He takes us to the limit that He is all we can trust. Since God created man there have been people trying to test God, and while God allows everyone to try Him in order to know and prove Him, He will not be mocked, no matter who we are. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” – Galatians 6:7-8.

The people of Babylon were well aware that there was only living God was among them, yet that did not keep them from turning away from their false gods. We learn of three kings who found out the hard way that there is only One Living God, and regardless of how much power they had, it was nothing compared to the power of the living God. Nebuchadnezzar loved being in power, and the fact that he was in control of practically every nation, made him pretty proud. He was well aware of God, even praised Him as being the God above all gods, but he would never acknowledge Him as his God nor would he admit that God made him a success. All Nebuchadnezzar had to do was turn away from his false gods and turn to the one true God, but he refused and not only spent seven years in a field as an animal before He acknowledged that fact, he also lost the kingdom.

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me. O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:– Daniel 4:2,9,19,30-31,34.

that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power,It is pride that keeps a person from acknowledging that God is the source for their success, whether they are saved or not. Through humiliation, Nebuchadnezzar finally acknowledged God, proclaimed Him, and turned to Him. God allows people of the world to enjoy success through the judgments of His people in order to get them both to turn to Him, and He will prove one way or another that He is the only living God. “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.– Matthew 5:44-45.

Now, after Nebuchadnezzar died his son Belshazzar reigned as king, after all the humility that he saw his father go through you would have thought that he would have recognized God, but he did something even worse. He took the cups and other valuables that were taken from the Temple in Jerusalem and began using them and worshiping other gods with them. This time God did not use a dream to get the kings attention, He wrote a message on a wall, the king was devastated by this and desperately searched for someone who could read the writing, the queen remembered Daniel and he was brought to interpret it.

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.– Daniel 5:1-5,30-31.

that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. It is one thing to acknowledge who God is and ignore Him, it is another to use things dedicated for Him to worship other gods. Belshazzar was killed shortly after the interpretation was given, then the Mede’s and Chaldean’s took control of Babylon, and Darius reigned as king. Nations rise and fall not because of how great their leader is, but because of how great their God is, if they serve and acknowledge God as King it prospers, if they do not, it falls. The same is true for the Christian who wants to prosper in their personal lives, if God is not King in our lives we will suffer until we realize that we need Him to be above all that we do. “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.” – I Corinthians 3:11-14.

One thing about acknowledging God and serving Him is that when He comes first, whether we want prosperity or not, He gives it to us. Daniel did not want to be in command, but that’s exactly what he got after Darius became king. Daniel prospered and was favored among the new king as well as the nation, but it did not take long for the wicked Babylonians to try and bring him down.

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.– Daniel 6:3-7.

except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.The world despises successful Christians, they will do anything to try to get them to turn on God. Their attempt to have Daniel killed did not go so well, in fact, they were the ones who ended up being killed for deceiving the king in the first place. This is becoming a norm today, people are being persecuted left and right for their faith. They are specifically targeting businesses that know they are Christians as if they have some point to prove, but the only point they are going to get is that God is always in control, and He will not be mocked nor will He allows His people to be mocked. He will take care of His people. “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:19-21.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” – Daniel 4:17.

Today’s Prayer: God, As You bring prosperity to Your people by our simple obedience to You, let us be reminded that all the things we go through, whether it is easy or difficult, are used to give You honor and glory. As long as we do that we will continue to prosper, and even have more blessings than we can imagine. When the desires of the world clutters our attempts to follow Your will, give us Your power and strength to keep You as King and remain obedient to Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
