Message: Giving Credit To The Holy Spirit

Hello My Friend,

At my new job there are a lot of Muslims that shop there, and here I am promoting a product that screams it is Christmas. While I am not allowed to preach the Gospel there, I do not count them off limits to knowing the truth about Christ, I hope one day they get to hear and accept the truth, perhaps may even get the opportunity to witness to some somehow. It is funny how your mind changes the closer you get to Christ, you begin seeing people more than just people, but souls in need of Christ. Let me tell you, that is not my mind thinking that, but the Holy Spirit thinking through me. The Holy Spirit does not get the credit He often deserves for the things we do or even think, He is behind every good deed, the conscience that keeps us from doing something stupid, the teacher that educates us on the things of God, and also the one who corrects us when we need it. “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” – I Corinthians 2:12-13.

but the spirit which is of God;” We must understand that until we are saved we have limited use of the Holy Spirit, oh, He will nudge people a little to get them to hear the Gospel, but until they actually receive Christ He cannot work through a dead soul. Now, if we are saved we know through the Holy Spirit that God is one God in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one great, Almighty, and powerful God in three forms so we get the full affects of a relationship with God. Before Christ came the Holy Spirit bounced in and out of saved people as God saw the need to use that person to speak His words, but since the Gospel took place and Jesus left the earth, He moves in permanently. This causes a lot of confusion, especially where religion plays a part in the Word of God. Paul addresses this issue, reminding us that we are all under the same power of God.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.” – Romans 13:1-5.

and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.” Apart from Christ there is no salvation. The biggest problem with the world is that so many who actually believe in God believe religion is the way to Him, and whatever religion they believe must be true, and by some chance if they do believe in the Holy Spirit, He is not actually God nor can He live in a person. Of course, this is all a ploy of the devil to keep people from knowing the truth, people are going to believe what they want, but it is not for us to judge them, rather encourage them in Christ. Paul explains what he Holy Spirit does in us when we let Him work through us.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” – Romans 14:17-23,.

for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” God is the Almighty and with all His power He can do anything He wants, and He does, but His power is only as strong as our faith. Think about it, if we condemn ourselves and believe that we are too messed up for God to use us or He is incapable of saving the worst of sinners, can we expect any good to come out of it? Sorry, God works on faith, the more faith we have the more we get from God, and lack of faith is actually worse than having no faith at all because it is a sin to have no faith, especially if we are saved. “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” – Hebrews 6:4-6.

Something amazing happens the second we allow the Holy Spirit to do His job in us, we become walking, talking billboards for Christ, but we get something else too we may not expect, opposition from every religion, opposing the truth. It is only by the direction and boldness of the Holy Spirit that we can approach this kind of opposition, He will guide us on how to handle every situation, even if that means we have to keep silent for a time. God knows where we need to be, when we need to be there, and how to deal with every form of opposition, but we must never alter the Gospel in any way, whether it is out of fear or by some teaching we may have been taught by some other religion we were in. Paul stresses the importance of preaching and keeping the Gospel as is.

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.” – Romans 15:15-21.

lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:” Did you know that if we preached the Gospel in any other way other than salvation by grace alone through Christ’s sinless death, burial, and resurrection we would not be preaching about Christ Himself, but some other man? Any alteration from the Gospel changes Christ, so if one preaches that you must believe in His death, burial, and resurrection, and get baptized is changing Christ into another man. And unfortunately anyone who believes this lie will not be saved because there is only one Gospel, one Christ, and no works, including baptism is necessary to be saved because Christ did the work for us. “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” – Hebrews 10:1,10.

Many people reject the truth that the Bible is the written words of God, stating that man wrote it, but sadly they are among those who do not live by faith and will die in their sin. Since God, apart from Him using His finger to write the ten commandments and perhaps the incident in Babylon when He wrote on the wall regarding the evil king who was using all the sacred cups from the temple to drink out of, God used men filled with the Holy Spirit, to not only tell their stories of faith, but what He wanted man to know about Him. Think about it, Moses penned every book from Genesis to Deuteronomy, and he was not even around to see the events from the time of Genesis, God had to use someone to dictate what He wanted us to know about creation, so He chose Moses because he lived by faith. God was not the only one to use someone to pen His words, Paul did also.

Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” – Romans 16:21-27.

I Tertius, who wrote this epistle,” Tertius was a Roman Christian whom Paul employed as his amanuensis (secretary) to pen down his letter to the Romans. Paul did this because he had a problem with his sight and needed someone who could dictate his words. God is the same way, while He is very capable of pointing His finger and writing every bit of His book Himself, He used men who lived by faith to write His words. It is all about faith with God, Jesus walked the earth as man for a little over thirty-three years and yet very few had faith in Him, which is why faith is so important to God. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – Hebrews 1:6.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” – Romans 14:9.

Today’s Prayer: Holy Spirit, I do not always give You the credit You deserve for the amazing things that I am able to do through You. You are my guide, my teacher, my conscience, my director, my wisdom, and the one who shows me how to use all my knowledge for good. Thank You for all these things, and give me Your power and show me how to use it to bring glory to the Father and the Son, no matter where I go. I am so glad I have all three of you to complete me and make me one whole child of the one and only Almighty God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
