Message: Faithful Christians

Hello My Friend,

God HasFaithful Christians, those who live their lives with Christ daily, not only on Sunday’s or when they are in trouble, but every single day of their lives. Faithful Christians are not sinless, they sin less because God is a part of their lives. God knows that while we have this flesh even His faithful are going to sin again and again, but His mercy endures. So many saved people living in sin will question God because of the problems they face, but fail to acknowledge that God will not hear their cries until they admit and repent of their sin. “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” – Revelation 3:19.

As faithful Christians, we need to understand that any work we do for God after we are saved is not for keeping our salvation, it is to give glory to God. Millions of people receive Christ only to continue living the same corrupt lives they always lived. Why then does God allow them to remain saved? Psalm 78 reminds us of why we have a Redeemer. “The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works. Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble. When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.” – Psalm 78:31-39.

For he remembered that they were but flesh;” Flesh, when you stop to think about how our bodies react to things you can truly understand why God found it necessary to save our soul. That sin nature of our body can bring us to do some crazy things, some very sinful things. The saving of our soul ensures that no matter what we are capable of doing in our flesh, our soul does not get punished for it. The saving of our soul does not mean we will not suffer any consequences for our actions of the flesh, but it does mean we do not have to spend an eternity in hell. “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” – Hebrews 9:12.

As faithful Christians we must also understand that it is not the world that God is judging right now, He knows what is going to happen to them, He is judging His very own, not the faithful, but the unfaithful. Right now, nation after nation is being darkened by the devil’s shadow, his intent is to keep the unsaved from knowing the Saviour and the saved from showing the Saviour. Psalm 79 reminds us to stand up, proclaim Christ, and keep praying for our country.

How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire? Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name. For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place. O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed. Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;” – Psalm 79:5-11.

preserve thou those that are appointed to die;” We are all appointed to die once, this is not something that brings joy to God, this is something that actually pains Him greatly. Think about how you would feel if your very own creation wanted nothing to do with you, and did everything against what you stood for. However, we can be preserved, saved from the second death, which is far worse, the death of the soul, being cast in hell and the lake of fire. God sent Jesus so we could be preserved, that is how much He loves us and does not want to see us in hell. Now, all who believe in and receive Him as their Saviour are preserved, their souls are preserved, when they die they go up in heaven, awaiting Christ’s return so they can receive their new, glorified body. “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” – Hebrews 9:26-28.

There is a difference between one who sins and one who lives in sin, one who lives in sin does so willingly, knowing they are saved. Those who live in sin always bring suffering to those around them, rarely feeling guilty for what they are doing. When Asaph wrote these psalms it was during the time Jerusalem had been invaded and was suffering greatly. While most of the Jews there were taken into Babylon, some were left there in the midst of all the suffering, some of whom were faithful servants of God. The psalmist seeks forgiveness and refuge from the suffering. “Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.” – Psalm 80:7-9,14-19.

and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.” The vine talked about here is Israel, God took them out of Egypt and made them His people to show the world that there is only One Living God. Today, Jesus is the vine, we those saved are the branches. Just like God removed those out of Israel who turned on Him, Jesus removes the dead branches of those who turn on Him. Keep in mind that God never goes back on His promise to save a soul that receives His Son, but that does not mean He will not take them home sooner than expected if they remain living in their sin and causing others to sin as well. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” – John 15:1-4.

Jesus Christ Magnified: Today, Jesus is seen through the rock, the high God, the God of hosts, and the vine who makes the branches strong. We are only strong if we abide in the vine. “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5.

Today’s Prayer: God, You are very clear to us that salvation only comes from our believing in and receiving Your Son, and that nothing we do can renounce it. You are also very clear that You want Your children living in a way that reflects Your Son so that others can come to know Him too. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us Your power, wisdom, strength, and grace to be faithful Christians, walking daily with You. Help us be bold and declare Your Son in a dark world overshadowed by Satan. Put Your hedge of protection around us and keep us safe from those who will try to stop us, and let us not become weary in well doing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
