Message: Every Knee Will Bow

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading the chapters for today, this passage came to mind, [Romans 14:11-12  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.  12  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.] One way or another, all will know that God is real, God is in control, and God will not be mocked. You have a choice, believe in Him and accept His Son as your Saviour, or do not believe, but no matter what choice you make, you will still stand before Him, and give an account to Him. Even the people of Old Testament times knew this, [Isaiah 45:23-24  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.  24  Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.]

[and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.] Now, that is the understatement of a lifetime. God does not force us to choose Him, but those who refuse Him will be ashamed when they face Him. Also, if we know of Him, and have witnessed His mercies in our lives, we would be wise to acknowledge that and accept His Son, otherwise, we will learn the hard way that He will not be mocked. Remember when God said that Nebuchadnezzar would be His servant and the one who would take Judah captive? And remember the giant gold statue he had made of himself that all were to bow down and worship? Well, Nebuchadnezzar loved being in power, and the fact that he was in control of practically every nation, made him pretty proud. He was well aware of God, even praised Him as being the God above all gods, what he failed to do was acknowledge Him as his God. To show him just how much his pride would be his fall, God gave him a strange dream, and he knew that Daniel was only one person in the kingdom that could help him figure out what the dream meant.

[Daniel 4:10,13-16,24-25  Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. 13  I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;  14  He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:  15  Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:  16  Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him. 24  This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:  25  That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.]

[till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men,] The world may think they are in control, Satan may even think that he is in control, but there is not one thing going on that God does not know about. All will come to the knowledge that God is in control of everything. We can wonder why God is allowing all this evil taking place right now, and the answer is simple, freewill. This is the will of a bunch of brats that never got taught the value of life, what it means to work at something, nor the consequence of their reckless actions. God does not mess with ones ability to choose good or evil, that is a choice we must make, and any evil that befalls by the choices we make will overtake us unless we repent. And let me tell you, Nebuchadnezzar learned that the hard way as he literally turned into an animal until he repented, but it took seven years.

[Daniel 4:29-31,33-34,37  At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.  30  The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?  31  While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. 33  The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.  34  And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: 37  Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.]

[and I blessed the most High,] Let me tell you just how humble you become when you are in your worse state. God’s mercies endure, and while He sends rain upon the just and the unjust, they only go so far for the unbelievers, not only acknowledging who He is, but accepting Him as your own is the only option to escape the worse evil that befalls all unbelievers, hell, [Romans 13:1-2  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  2  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.]

Apparently, Nebuchadnezzar’s testimony did not convince his son that he ought to repent, but he too will discover God is the only KING, and in control of all things. When Belshazzar reigned as king, after all the humility that he saw his father go through you would have thought that he would have recognized God, but he denied Him, he even took the cups from the temple in Jerusalem and began worshiping their gods with them.

[Daniel 5:2,5,7,1718,20,22  Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. 5  In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. 7  The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom. 17  Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation. 18  O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:  20  But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:  22  And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;]

[though thou knewest all this;] And this is where God’s mercy runs out. These are people who are well aware of the testimonies of those who got saved and of God Himself, yet they refuse to humble themselves and repent. Remember, God gave His Word to His believers so that they could have something to show them how to worship Him His way, and what happens to those who do not. Now, Belshazzar was killed shortly after the interpretation was given, the Medes took control of Babylon, a Darius reigned. Darius loved Daniel because he was faithful, he honored Belshazzar’s decree that made him third in command of the country, and was even contemplating bringing him up higher than that. Of course, that did not go ever well with the locals.

[Daniel 6:11,15-16,19–20,22,24  Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 15  Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.  16  Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. 19  Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.  20  And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?  22  My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. 24  And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.]

[and they cast them into the den of lions,] Daniel survived the night, was released and the men as well as their wives and children were thrown into the den. We must realize that as long as we belong to Christ we are always going to have enemies, and we cannot hide our faith because that only brings more problems. As long as we remain faithful to God, and are not ashamed of our faith, He will protect, and that means He may bring us home to Him. God makes it easy for all to acknowledge and accept His Son, and He does that by keeping us in the world, but not of the world, [John 17:15-18  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.  16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.  18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.]

Today’s Prayer: God, As You bring prosperity to Your people by our simple faithfulness to You, let us be reminded that You are the source for everything good in our lives. All of the things we go through, whether it is easy or difficult, are used to give You honor and glory, and as long as our spirit is right with You, and we are faithful to You, we will continue to prosper, and even more than we imagine. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us a humble spirit, if we get too boastful remind us that You give and also take if we forget that You are the one who rules. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
