Message: Depend On God At All Times

Hello My Friend,

I woke up thinking about how horrible things were going for me at the beginning of the year and how much God has blessed me since then, and the odd thing, my circumstances have not changed very much. What is the difference? I stopped focusing on my circumstances and just handed them to God. In turn, my spirits started to lift up, my heart went from despair to dependence of Him, and each day I wake up I see God changing things little by little. While I may not have always had confidence that God would deliver me out of this mess, I have always been faithful to Him, and that is the key to Him nudging our faith back to our dependence of Him.

LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee. It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.” – Psalm 144:3,9-12,15.

happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.” God’s faithful may not be jumping for joy at all times, but they still manage to find happiness. We do not realize it when we find ourselves neck deep in the water of life that God is waiting for that one thing we often have a hard time with, submission. God wants us to be one hundred percent dependent upon Him, and that means we submit to His will, not only through the trials and tribulations, but through the joys and blessings as well. While some of the greatest blessings come through our tears, even more come through our dependence upon Him when we feel we do not need Him at all. And let me tell you, we need Him at all times to rid us from those strange children who appear to be our friends, but are enemies.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.” – Psalm 143:5-11.

Hear me speedily, O LORD:” We have to be careful to maintain a daily walk with God. When things are going well that is fuel that Satan will use to lessen our dependence on God, all he needs is a little confidence that we did something on our own to kindle it. Always make sure that you seek God’s will daily because we never know when He might decide to send us in another direction. You know, that while you are blessed with your family, job, successes, whatever they may be, it is God who have you the skills and knowledge to get where you are. And do not think that anything you tried and failed at had to do with you, it had everything to do with God. Never in my life would I have thought that I would be working for a major toy company, setting up events, and winning top sales, but I now know that all with those dead end jobs I had for three years, God was preparing me for the this job. It is God who appoint our positions, we just have to be willing to wait for His instructions. God appointed the Levites as the ones who would oversee His ministry, David continues to get the house of God, and his kingdom in order before he died, appointing the gate keepers, and the treasurers.

Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph. And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things. And Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler of the treasures. And his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son. Which Shelomith and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated. And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren. Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges. And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the LORD, and in the service of the king. Among the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gilead.” – I Chronicles 26:1,20,24-26,28-31.

the son of Moses, was ruler of the treasures.” Porters or gate keepers may seem less important than treasures in God’s house, but they are just as important. It is the gate keepers that watch over, and protect God’s people from the outside world getting into His church. The treasures protect the things that are dedicated to God, and makes sure it all gets handled properly. This is the first time we read of any of Moses’ family being part of the ministry, many frowned over his marriage to a woman that was not a Levite or even a Jew, but God still used him to lead His people to the promised land. We are not defined by who our parents are or what race we are born into, we defined by our faithfulness to God, particularly after our faith in Jesus Christ. Keep in mind that when God appoints you your position, whether it is working in His ministry or out in the world that He does not expect you to do it all by yourself, otherwise, you would become weary in well doing, and may even walk away. Now, David sets in order the military and other offices in his own house.

Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand. Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand. Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month. And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand. And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah: And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub: Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons: And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion: And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.” – I Chronicles 27:1-4,25-26,32-34.

a wise man, and a scribe:” It is getting around Godly people that keeps us accountable and encourages us to keep doing everything that we do with Christ in mind. Let me tell you, we need Godly counsel, we need Godly Bible study, and we need Godly companionship to confide in, guide, and encourage us so we can learn and grow together as Christians. I will tell you that while I do have have Godly counsel, and Bible study with Godly people, I do not have a companion. Of course, I have Jesus, an amazing family, and a church family that loves me, but do not have a Godly person I can just talk to and confide in. Perhaps, this is because I lack the skills to be sociable myself, I had trust issues, and oddly enough, the one true friend I did have introduced me to a Baptist church. So, perhaps there is a reason why I choose my friends wisely, but definitely something I need to work on. Nevertheless, I know I have Jesus with me, and can always come to Him to confide in. When we are faithful to God, He truly blesses us, guides us, and works in us so that we never lose our dependence on Him.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.” – Psalm 145:4-7,14-15,18-20.

to all that call upon him in truth.” David makes sure to make it clear that the LORD will only hear the call of those who call upon Him in truth. Only Jesus can save us, and He only saves those who come to Him by faith, and truth, accepting His perfect sacrifice on the cross as the payment for their sin debt. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” – Romans 10:9-10. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.” – Psalm 145:18-20.

Today’s Prayer: God, I remember a time in my life where I never understood what it meant to be saved, I never even heard that term, all I heard was what I could and could not do or I would end up in hell. It was not until I was brought to a church that followed Your Word completely that I learned the truth and finally understood that none of my works can save me, only Your Son could. Thank You for your patience and willingness to wait for me to learn the truth, I know I am saved solely by my faith and acceptance in what Your Son, Jesus Christ, did for me on the cross and by Him alone. Now, I want to serve You wherever You send me, not because I have to, but because I want to thank You for what You did for me. Teach me Your will for my life, and as You guide me into these challenges give me the wisdom, discernment, and faith I need to follow through. Be my companion in my darkest hour, and in my greatest hour. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
