Message: As God Commanded

Hello My Friend,

You can build the most extravagant building, cover it in silver and gold, and call it a house of worship for God. You can darn the most valuable fabrics, mend, sew, and cover them with the most precious jewels, and call them clothes to go into the house of worship for God. You can give tithes, offering, sing, preach, pray, teach, in a house of worship for God. None of these things will do any good if God is not present. You can praise, honor, and worship God until you are blue in the face, if you are not anointed with the blood of Christ, nothing you do is going to have an impact. [Luke 13:25-27  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:  26  Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.  27  But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.]

This is not God being cruel, this is God being God, if you are going to choose God, then you must come to Him through His Son. If you say that you love God, and are willing to do all these things for God, then you would accept that Christ is the only way to Him. If you are too stubborn or foolish to believe that your way is the way to God, then that is on you, because God tells us exactly what we need to do to worship Him. We have the Law that God wants us to follow, the Law of Moses itself was never a means for permanent salvation, it was foreshadow of what was to come when all believers, even those before, Jesus came here in the flesh, would have permanent redemption. The Tabernacle, being the first house of worship for God, gave them a physical place where they knew God was near. Yesterday we read about the construction of Tabernacle, and all the items needed as God commanded. Now, we come the making of the garments the priests would wear inside.

[Exodus 39:1-2,4-6,8,14  And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.  2  And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. 4  They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.  5  And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.  6  And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel. 8  And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. 14  And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.]

[of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet,] The word Ephod means image, the gold, the blue, the purple, the scarlet, and the linen, are all representative of the image of Christ, the gold, His Deity, the blue, His heavenly home, the purple, His royalty, the scarlet, His sacrifice, and the linen, His purity, and righteousness. It was important that the breastplate be attached to the ephod, which is what they did next.

[Exodus 39:21-25,28-31  And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.   22  And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.  23  And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.  24  And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.  25  And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates; 28  And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,  29  And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.  30  And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.  31  And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.]

[and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod;] The breastplate, also known as the breastplate of judgment, was worn by the high priest when he was asked to give the judgment of God. The breastplate was a symbol of honor, and upon it bore the twelve precious stones, each one containing the name of one of the sons of Israel. The breastplate was to never be separated from the ephod as it was a reminder that each tribe, no matter how bad or good they were, nothing could remove them from the inheriting the promised land. Let me tell you, whatever sins and failures we might have had in our lifetime, none of it can separate us from Jesus Christ, and His Kingdom, if we are anointed with the blood of Christ, [Romans 8:35-39  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.]

I really do not understand why people do not get it through their heads that they cannot pick and choose what they want to believe and follow from God’s Word. If you are going to choose God, then you need to believe in every word written, and worship Him as He commands. Now, all the work was complete, the Tabernacle, the clothes, and the furniture was ready to be used to serve God.

[Exodus 39:32-33,35-39,41-43  Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.  33  And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,  35  The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,  36  The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,  37  The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,  38  And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,  39  The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,  41  The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office.  42  According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.  43  And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.]

[they had done it as the LORD had commanded,] The Law of Moses was written some three thousand years ago, it has not changed, God has not changed. Our times change, and we may now be in the age of grace, but it is still important to follow His commands, especially when it comes to worshiping Him. Look what happened when Eve choose to listen to the devil instead of God, we are all suffering from that decision. When God had the writers write these words in His Word, that means He expects us to honor that, [II Timothy 3:16-17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.]

The Tabernacle was completed and set up in six months, when the hearts of God’s people are willing and work together so much can be done in a short amount of time. And when His commands are followed, it all works together for good. Now that everything was built, it was time to set it all up, God gave a special order of service. The first thing was to set up the Tabernacle, [Exodus 40:1-8  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,  2  On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.  3  And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.  4  And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.  5  And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.  6  And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.  7  And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.  8  And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.]

[And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony,] The Ark of the Covenant (Testimony) was the first thing to go into the tent, it would be at the very back. Without the Word of God, there is no worship of God, it is the foundation upon which we stand, the very authority of the Church, [Ephesians 2:20-22  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  21  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  22  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.]

Remember, before they could even do anything in the sanctuary they had to be sanctified themselves, even the Tabernacle, and all the items in it. And that is exactly what Moses did, he began anointing everything with the special anointing oil, and even though Aaron and his sons were going through the process of consecration, the garments they were wearing had to be anointed as well while they were wearing them.

[Exodus 40:9-15  And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.  10  And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.  11  And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.  12  And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.  13  And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.  14  And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:  15  And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.]

[And thou shalt take the anointing oil,] The building, the clothes, the person themselves, must be anointed before entering the house of worship for God. Jesus Christ is the only one who can anoint us, we could go into any building of worship, and give worship to God, but it is not true worship. True worship is Christ, without Him there is no worship, [I Timothy 1:9-11  Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,  10  For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;  11  According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.]

[and shalt hallow it,] [Hallow; to make it holy to minister before God.] The second we receive Christ as our Saviour we are anointed, sanctified, and cleansed of all our sin so that we may be able to minister before God. Once we are anointed with Christ that is when the things we do for God get His attention. After the tabernacle and priests were anointed, a cloud appeared, above the tent, this was no ordinary cloud, this what the glory of God, a ray of light that shined so bright, no one, even Moses could enter. [Exodus 40:34-38  Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.  35  And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.  36  And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:  37  But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.  38  For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.]

[throughout all their journeys.] What a sight that must have been, to see God go into the Tabernacle, the cloud covered the Tabernacle even in the clearest day, and lit up the night by fire, even on the darkest day. It was a token of God’s presence to be seen day and night, by all of Israel, so that they might never again question if God was among them. It guided the camp of Israel throughout their journey in the wilderness. When the cloud rested above the tabernacle, they rested and stayed put where they were, when it arose they were to pack up and move forward. This is our journey with Christ, we are to follow where He leads us, and when we do, He takes us all the way to the promised land, [John 12:25-26  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  26  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Exodus 40:34  Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for making it easy for us to become one of Yours, the sacrifice You made is something we will never fully comprehend, but we can learn to appreciate it by following Your commands. You have anointed our souls with the blood of Your Son the second we believed in Him as our Saviour, and we will dwell in Your house forever. And I praise You, God for that. Our salvation may not require us to follow every command, but it does remind us that obedience to You is the key to getting Your attention. Lord, help us learn and grow closer to You as we follow Your Word and trust that You are building us into the likeness of Your Son. Lead us and guide us, give us Your power, wisdom, and strength to endure all the trials we face and let us keep serving You. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
